Budious
This was my first year using a DSLR at the race. I have only owned my D70s for 8 months now and took these shots with the standard Nikon 18-70 from the kit. I was using 1/500 shutter speed but now that I've seen the results, 1/800 would probably have been better. I used f/8 aperature at 70mm focal length and 200 ISO. The main issue is focasing, I used the auto-zoom to get focused on the first part of the corner and then adjusted to manual so I could fire off shots faster and need not be locked on target. Unfortunately, as the riders exited the last turn they came a bit far in and out of focus. I still thought the shots were decent and I got an idea of what to do different next year. These pics are of Ivan Stevic (Toyota-United) who took 1st place stage win. These 4 photos are at the last turn into straight-away final 500 meters until finish.
