How can I remove the audio from a DV AVI file?

Import it into your a movie editor and remove the sound. Then re-export.

Example, through Windows Movie Maker,

Import onto the timeline, click audio track for video, delete.

or iMovie,

Import onto timeline, select movie, Clip: 0%.
