Direct to DVD TSCC Movie in our Future?

Thomas Dekker was our first. On-set interview that is.

Which is why ? aside from starring in one of the most criminally under-appreciated television shows in recent memory ? we?ll always have a soft spot for the TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES star.

And, why this TV Addict took it upon himself to brave the horde of 50,000 strong that converged upon Toronto?s Annual FanExpo over the weekend to provide fans of the show with some much needed closure. And, as luck would have it, a little hope ? courtesy of the always classy and candid Dekker (Who was on hand to promote the slasher flick Laid to Rest) and was more than happy to take a few minutes to reflect upon his now infamous YouTube video, the one thing he would have changed about the series and of course, what was in store for Connor and Co. had the proverbial powers that be not put the kibosh on a third season of Sarah Connor?s CThe TV Addict: How do you feel about being here in Toronto right now instead of the Warner Bros. lot shooting season three of the show?he show?

Thomas Dekker: I definitely miss the show a lot. In fact, it sort of catches me off guard how much I miss the show sometimes. I really miss the people I got to work with everyday and the environment of knowing where you were working on a daily basis. And of course, the story. I loved the story and I knew where the third season was going and I thought it was just so cool. I love that Josh [Executive Producer Josh Friedman] had the balls to make everybody kind of wait, and be patient. Unfortunately I guess people really weren?t that willing to Since you brought it up, just how cool was season three going to be?ing to be?

I?ve divulged too much in the past [so I have to be careful as to not **** off Josh] but I mean it was going to be really interesting because there were questions in the future like is Sarah Connor at the age she would be in the future or is she already dead? I know which one that is, and it was the more interesting of the two to me. Plus what is she doing in the past? Also my sort of relationship with Allison and finding Cameron would play a large part in the season, do I go with the robot I know or do I go with the human that doesn?t know me? The fact that Danny Dyson became a very important part of it was also very exciting because it harkened back directly to Has there been any talk of continuing the story in a different form, a comic book perhaps? book perhaps?

They?ve spoken about doing a TV movie. Well, not a TV movie, but kind of like a direct-to-DVD movie [Think: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA's THE PLAN]. Obviously it?s difficult because the show is based on a movie and they just had one come out, so it?s kind of hard to make a movie with our show because everyone has kind of forgotten about us. But they?re hoping, at least when I spoke to [Producer] James Middleton that??When did you find out that TERMINATOR had been officially terminated?n officially terminated?

Obviously we?d seen the ratings and we had an inkling about it. But it was tricky, because the show was so popular overseas. In the end, it really came down to DOLLHOUSE or us and that was sort of what happened. I think we were too expensive and So pretty much your salary cost us another season?!st us another season?!

[Laughs] It wasn?t my salary let me tell you that much! But I think that it ultimWhere were you when you found out?were you when you found out?

I ultimately found out while I was shooting Nightmare on Elm Street, I got a text from Josh that was typically Josh, ?Show?s canceWhat inspired you to take to the internet and post a video on YouTube video (see above)?ideo on YouTube video (see above)?

I was in Chicago doing the movie and we were shooting nightshifts. Having just woken up, I was surfing the net just to see how people were reacting to the show and I found myself really touched by videos, blogs and all these things that random people of all ages and groups had done to try and save the show. It was nice to get the affirmation that people wanted more of something we worked so hard on. So I just kind of thought it would be funny of me to ask FOX to give me my job for another year. I really just wanted to make something to let them [the fans] know that we knew they were trying and we appreciated it and appreciate them. The best part was that a lot of people though that I was drunk, stoned or f*cked up. Which tends to happen a lot of my stuff. I can assure you, I have many moments of non-sobriety but that wasn?t one of them. It?s actually really funny that I sort of come ofLooking back, to you have a favourite episode?back, to you have a favourite episode?

I?d say the bit that really just summed up the whole show to me was the ending montage of ?Adam Raised a Cain,? where it?s the song that little Savannah Weaver was singing with John Henry, and they?re burying Derek and Sarah?s been arrested. i just think that that is a testament to the beauty of the show. It was a piece that was so poetic to me and one that you don?t normally see in a sci fi television vehicle. Moments like that made me very proud. AIs there anything, be it a performance or an episode, that you would love the ability to travel back in time and change?ld love the ability to travel back in time and change?

I wish I wasn?t so fat by the end of the season. But other than that, no. You know, I think all of us are pretty satisfied and proud. Even the episode that got kind of dissed or whatever, like the 20?s episode [self Made Man], which was more experiGarret Dillahunt is on what seems to be 15 different shows this fall, Summer [Glau] has jumped to Joss Whedon?s DOLLHOUSE, what?s next for you? jumped to Joss Whedon?s DOLLHOUSE, what?s next for you?

I?m doing movies right now, which is nothing against TV, but I?ve done a lot of TV and I?m really trying to branch out and I?m having a really good time with that. I did an indie called All About Evil, then Nightmare on Elm Street and next up is another indie that I start in two weeks but can?t disclose what it is yet. But it?s with a filmmaker that I?ve wanted to work with for my entire life, so I?m really excited. So yeah, I?m getting to do all this stuff, but it?s not the family like TERMINATOR. I miss the family.

they could get it to restart by having the girls get owned more and show more skin and guns blazing while the girls get hurt then show skin then if they cant fix themselves they die.

Lena Headey has landed her next project, a pilot for HBO staring alongside Sean Bean and other names.

Yeah I saw that, but it doesn't really matter because a DVD movie would only take about a month or so to make. If the DVD sales of season two are good then there's a good chance that this DVD movie will happen.

Man, I just got over this TV series then see some news about a direct to DVD movie in future which I doubt will happen.

There's a good chance it could happen if the DVD's sell well which I expect they will.

There's a good chance it could happen if the DVD's sell well which I expect they will.

I'll try to find the info that was posted a while back on the Twiki that showed the S2 dvd per-orders doing really good on Amazon, and it's the number one per-order in Japan. I'm pretty sure this movie will be made- Also a while back one of the writers let the fans know in the savethescc chat room that the WB is really excited about the per-orders.

Why are we just wanting a direct to movie Terminator: SCC, if we can get more!? :D Get another network to broadcast T:SCC, like SyFy or Th CW (their own network). :D

I think people are still going to keep trying to get the show pushed to a network, but if the DVD movie is made and sells well we might see another DVD movie made or it could be moved to a network.

I watched the first episode of season 1 of this the other day...it was ok, but the mum (sarah conner lol) really really annoyed me. I'm not sure I can deal with 2 seasons of her

Yes you can, continue watching, it gets better. Season one is the best, the start of Season 2 is good and the end of it is the best.

    • Hey Google, these are the Gemini features I want in 2026 by Aditya Tiwari Google Gemini has been around for over three years. The AI chatbot started its journey back in 2023 (as Bard) when ChatGPT was already a talk of the town. However, it quickly attracted criticism after misrepresenting facts about the James Webb Space Telescope. The search giant spent a year fine-tuning Bard before rebranding the chatbot and its underlying generative AI model to Gemini, drawing inspiration from NASA's first human spaceflight program. Note that Bard was initially powered by LaMDA and PaLM 2; Google has since added several new features and integrations to Gemini. That said, there is scope for improvement and a gap for new features. I have been using Gemini for a while now and have realized that the chatbot lacks several features, making it harder for me to research across topics. These are mostly function-over-form updates that can improve the overall experience. Delete individual messages from a conversation Image via DepositPhotos.com One good thing about Gemini is that it can maintain context throughout the conversation. But things might get chaotic when you want to ask a related question, but don't want it to be part of your conversation in the long run. You can't ask that related question in a fresh chat because Gemini will lose the active conversation context of what you're trying to research. If Google allowed you to delete individual question/answer pairs, you could simply ask about a sub-topic and remove it from the conversation to create a smooth flow of important stuff. Offline mode Image via DepositPhotos.com A big pain of using Gemini daily is that everything loads from the cloud. It takes time for your chats to appear, and you can't view your conversation history while offline. To get a better idea, you can open the Gemini app and see how it looks without an internet connection. While Gemini models run in the cloud, it wouldn't hurt if Google could store chats (at least the text part) on the device so we can refer to them when offline. Google can also offer a lightweight version of its AI model to help with basic drafting, summarization, and other tasks. It has the Gemini Nano model, which can perform on-device processing on Google Pixel, Samsung, and some other Android brands, but it's a system feature and not related to the cloud-based Gemini app. Make temporary chats permanent I can't thank Google enough for taking the time and effort to add incognito mode or temporary chat mode to the Gemini app. It lets you have conversations without worrying that the topics will end up in your chat history or used for model training (at least on paper). Google claims that it doesn't use your temporary chats to "personalize your Gemini experience or train Google’s AI models." However, the data is stored "up to 72 hours to respond to you and to process any feedback you choose to provide." That said, I often start researching something in a temporary chat, only to realize the chatbot's answer is good enough to refer to later. Sadly, Gemini doesn't have an option to make such temporary chats permanent. In other words, I won't be able to follow up on it if I close the temporary chat. I'm left with alternatives like copying the answers into notes or another app. My digital life will get a lot better if Gemini gets a button to make temporary chats permanent. Collapse answers for a cleaner view You're heavily invested in your research game and suddenly feel the need to go up in the chat to recall something. This is when the conversation thread starts to feel like an overwhelming, unending wall of questions and answers. What if Google added a way to collapse Q&A pairs in the Gemini chat thread? It would look quite clean and easy to navigate. You'll quickly get an overview of everything you have discussed with the chatbot. Add buttons to jump between messages Suggested mockup of the feature. This reminds me of a small but useful Gemini feature that Google could add to its chatbot: the ability to hop between prompts in a conversation. Just add simple up- and down-arrow buttons, similar to YouTube Shorts, so people can quickly scroll through the messages. A table of contents or Chat Overview It's hard to get a bird's-eye view of everything you have discussed with the chatbot during a lengthy conversation. This is where a table of contents, or Chat Overview, displayed at the top of the screen, possibly in a drop-down button, might come in handy. You'll be able to get an overview of the chat and jump between messages, serving as an alternative to the up/down arrow buttons. Temporary mode for Gemini Live Image: Google You can use Gemini Live to have real-time conversations with the chatbot, which feels like you're talking to someone in the same room. However, a downside is that Gemini Live doesn't work in Temporary Chat mode, so all your conversations end up in the chat history. Google should consider expanding the temporary chat mode to include Gemini Live. Default to a specific chat One thing that feels somewhat annoying to me is that Gemini always opens in a new chat, whether on web or mobile. Sometimes, you want to return to your last chat. Google can take cues from web browsers, which let you choose whether you want to go to a new tab or a specific web page(s). Gemini can also have options to default to a specific chat when reopened. That said, generative AI chatbots have endless possibilities given the vagueness of their work. You can mold them the way you want by attaching different connectors, adding custom instructions, and including source files. It remains to be seen what Google has in store for future updates and whether anything from this wishlist gets the green light. The search giant released a stream of new Gemini updates in recent months, including Gemini 3.5 Flash and Gemini Omni Spark, adding that it now has 13 products with more than a billion users each. What do you want to see in the Gemini app? Tell us in the comments.
