AVA104.jpg

This happens when I'm using the lyrics over the album art feature.

Changing to the lyrics panel, gives the first effect.

changing back to the album art panel gives the second effect.

It looks like lyric show starts forgetting to repaint the background outside the area specified by the album art panel.

Is this a problem with the lyrics show plugin or something that can be fixed with the PanelUI scripting?

yep I have the same thing...

hi, first i install only foobar2000_0.9.5.exe, then i downloaded all plugins and then install FOOAvA_1_04_by_dawxxx666.exe. everything works fine. only.. i don't know how to remove song from playlist, because shorcuts (del) doesn't working, and there is no item in menu. when i install only clean foobar all shortcuts works, like a Z X C V B del .... thanx

I think I found a bug in miniplayer. At random basis something like this happens (icons and IM client were removed from the picture):

17030734fa1.th.jpg

Real miniplayer is on the right.

I'm having this problem too. I'm also getting random crashes, but I think that may have something to do with my recent Windows XP System Restore.

Anyone fixed this Miniplayer issue? Other than that, everything works PERFECTLY. I am truly in awe of this Foobar setup.

BTW, props to dawxxx666. You are a Foobar Gawd.

No luck here.

I think it have something to do with refresh of window content. Even in normal mode there are some issues with refresh (SQL Managment Studio slowing down noticeably when using "Open Table").

Hi Dawxxx666,

I have several Problems with the new version:

The 3 icons I am used to right under the playlist are gone. The ones that were to load files from disc, hide the scrollbar and to focus the currently playing track. The functions still work, but the buttons don't show.

Even though I downloaded the playlist dropdown plugin, which has vanished from the first post, I still have that ugly windows-style playlist dropdown.

When I switch to the Album Art Display I can press the side of the cd-case wich lightens up when I hover over it. After pressing it, weird stuff happens, like lyrics or the playlist showing up over the cd-case.

In an older version of FooAVA I was able to adjust the volume bar on my own so that it would have such a nasty way of changing volume. What i mean is that the first 2/3 of the volumebar are almost silence and then the last third rapidly increases the volume. That makes it quite unintuitive to handle. In the new version I don't quite know how to do that on my own because I guess you are using a different component.

Where did the "Visualisation"-button go?? I liked the integrated visualisations.

I seem to be missing all the buttons in mini-mode. I compared my version to the screenshots of users and they have a lot of buttons in mini-mode. Then I just tried clicking where the buttons are supposed to be and indeed they are still there, but they just don't show up again.

Is there a way to change the playback control buttons in normal mode back to the old glowing blue style? I liked that very much and now there is just too much contrast for my taste with the whole lot of white in there.

When I press the "search"-Button the search input field appears, but the search button vanishes and I can't close the search input field. I tried pressing exactly next to the search field and it closes, but there is no visible button once again.

One last not so very important thing: In some older version you used to have a lot more different wallpapers, where did they go?

There was one I was especially fond of. Is there any way to make those older wallpapers available again?

If any of these problems have already been solved in this thread I am very sorry, but this thread has amounted up to over 60 pages and I gave up after about 30.

Regards,

Jan

-- The playlist changer at the top is just a normal window style menu. It doesn't use playlist dropdown plugin. So what you see here is normal and downloading playlist dropdown plugin will not change anything.

For your another question: It's either "I don't know" or "You need to edit the code". I still use self modded 1.03 so I can't help you here.

Help?

(Disregard the yellow, I did that)

The problem shown above is that the current Playlist name disappears when a song has stopped.

Just wanted to say that I have that problem too, tried to fix it... but couldn't.

That problem exists if you're using PanelsUI 0.14.9 (or lower) with the config in Foo 103+ and Foo104.

For myself, I couldn't fix it because I have the cleartype problem (which requires me to use PanelsUI 0.14.9beta to remedy it.) But if you don't have the cleartype problem for 103+ or 104, you can use the newer beta version of PanelsUI, 0.14.12. That should do it for you.

For people like me who like to keep the PanelsUI 0.14.9beta for the cleartype problem, I've tried to fix the problem above by frankensteining the code from Foo103 into Foo103+ and 104 but that didn't work. And got stumped. Maybe one of you guys can give it a try..

Also, I found out today.. (yeah I'm late on the latest news)

- Development of Panels UI appears to have ceased as of July 2007. website

(so that means 0.14.12 beta is the last?)

- There's a new version of Foobar.. 0.9.5.1 website

(I haven't tried that new one, so I don't know if it will help solve any probs you guys are having)

- Dawxxx666 is making a new Foo skin, FooDX website

As stated before, he won't be able to help people with their codes because he's working on newer versions.

Like BKT, I'm using my own modified version of Foo 103+ so I can't really help other people who are using 104 or trying to find a specific problem that I might have already altered in my version. All I can suggest is to try to find exactly where your problems lie and to mess with the code, (search the wiki and see how titleformatting and other codes work, try swapping components to older versions, and just remember to back up your config before you make some major changes.

There was one I was especially fond of. Is there any way to make those older wallpapers available again?

The wallpapers are located in C:\Program Files\foobar2000\PanelsUI\AvA 1.04\images\fooAVA\walls\

You should be able to place any jpg in there and AvA settings will find it.

=====================================

I've just uploaded fixed version of FOOAvA 1.04 on my website (www.dawxxx666.neostrada.pl).

Changelog:

- problems with mini-player finally solved (probably, I'm not sure about the vista 64's issue, I don't have this OS to test)

- some minor tweaks

It's my last release with old design (the reason was that code bacame too complicated and... I'm just bored with fooAvA's style). Next version would be completely different, look at the screenshots:

123ym9.png

nonamemp3.th.png 01oh9.th.png 02bq2.th.png

Is there anyway to add "remove from playlist" to the context menu? Been looking for a command under [ROOT] insert commands but the only thing there is "remove from library".

I just dont like having to set a keyboard shortcut to remove an item from a playlist. Would be so much easier to just right click and "remove from playlist". :)

Yep works like a charm now. Thanks for your great work and keep it coming ;)

Gubrin

PS: Nowa wersja wygląda super.

Damn, my code is becoming too complicated even for me :s I can't help you and there won't be any fixed version of fooAvA 1.04...

It`s working for another several hours now and there`s no error till now. Strange.

I know that there won`t be any new fooAvA 1.04 releases, I was talking about your new config. :) Any thoughts when you will release it ? Looks great.

Recently started using foobar with this great skin, I'm having one problem though don't know if this is a vista/foobar problem but when I click play all in any music folder that has more than 15 tracks in they open WMP instead and play the songs, but if the folder has less then 15 tracks they play in foobar

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi everybody,

first, dawxxx666, congratulations for your AvA skin, it's one of the best I've ever seen for a media player (too bad for your boring about the actual AvA style and for the future WMP style... but... you are the boss :D)

I have a question, I'm on the 1.04 and I have a strange problem : the playlist switcher doesn't work if I deactivated the Background mode.

Is it a known bug or anything else ? (I prefer the smooth of the wheel navigation in the playlist when there is no background).

Thanks a lot for answering me (and sorry for my english level ^^)

    • That lens of history will burn if you hold it at the right angle... Warn users too late: Shame, Microsoft! That extremely minor update to an obscure Control Panel widget required 2 years of warning. Warn users too early: Shame, Microsoft! We've got better things to do. Pipeline and process be damned, we'll just always be disappointed, eh?
    • Microsoft Paint used to be my favorite Windows app as a kid, and it's still pretty good by Usama Jawad I have been using Windows since the early 2000s, when I was around 10 years old or so. I vaguely remember playing around with Windows 98 and Windows 2000, but that may have been on school PCs which had old operating systems installed. My main OS on the home PC, and the one I recall spending most time with, was Windows XP. At that time, I used the home PC to create Word and PowerPoint documents for school, but a lot of the time, I simply used it to play games. My dad would bring game discs which we would try and install on the PC, sometimes unsuccessfully, and sometimes, we would rely on flash games in the browser, like Bubble Trouble on Miniclip. However, the problem with the latter approach was the internet speed. On a good day, our dial-up internet would offer us speeds of 56 kbps, but on most days, it was closer to 33 kbps. This did not facilitate online gaming as I would often have to wait minutes for a game to load or "draw" on the screen, and trying to download pirated games wasn't simple either. I remember getting tired of waiting for online games to load and just downloading simulator games from the Big Fish Games website instead, only to be disappointed after finding out that I was just being given access to trial versions of the title, and I needed to fork out money to pay for the full version. All of this is to say that it wasn't very easy to find entertainment options on the home PC when I was a kid, due to a number of reasons, mostly outside of my control. This situation pushed me towards a rather unconventional ally: Microsoft Paint. Whenever the internet wasn't working as good as I expected, I would simply spin up Paint and draw complete rubbish on the canvas. Of course, that wasn't always the intention, but it usually happened when I messed up drawing a straight line or something, and then I would give up on that particular piece and simply draw a random collection of objects. Microsoft Paint was extremely accessible and easy to use. Even if you weren't an artist, you could quickly understand the tools at your disposal and how to leverage them on a canvas. The absolute breadth on offer ensured that each painting was truly unique, as you could utilize various combinations of tools like the pencil, paint, spray paint, and more to truly personalize your creation. Since I wasn't particularly good at drawing both on digital screen or a physical screen, I remember that my main style of art would be to insert a bunch of randomly intersecting lines and then fill them with random colors through the paint can. I have trying to replicate that art style in the latest version of Paint below, and as you can see, it's truly Pablo Picasso-esque. The human imagination truly knows no bounds Microsoft Paint kept me occupied for hours and was my best friend when video games on the home PC were inaccessible for one reason or the other. There was no academic or professional reason for which I would need to use Paint, but I still loved using it in my personal time, even if what I created wasn't worth being shown to anyone. It was simply fun. Fast-forward to today, and the situation is mostly the same. Now that I am almost 29 years old, and I still have no reason to use Microsoft Paint in a professional capacity. In fact, I don't even use it in a personal capacity, except to dabble with it from time to time, just to see if core functionalities are still intact. And I'm happy to say that I think Microsoft Paint still offers the same accessibility and inviting experience that it did to me a couple of decades ago, even though its UX has been refreshed and it's been integrated with Copilot features. Interestingly, things could have been a lot different, had Microsoft had its way. Microsoft Paint was marked for deprecation with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update in 2017, and even began displaying a product retirement alert, urging customers to shift to Paint 3D instead. Fortunately, after consumer backlash, Microsoft reversed course on this decision, and Paint continues to be a native app inside Windows installations that can also be updated quite frequently through the Microsoft Store. Instead, Paint 3D ended up on the chopping block, which is for the better, I think. I have intermittently played around with Microsoft's refreshed Paint experience in the past few years, and I do think it has received worthwhile upgrades. the UI and the UX has been modernized while retaining core functionality, and the app is still fairly easy to use. It doesn't meet any of my use-cases, but I've never really had any use-cases ever, as described previously. Of course, the elephant in the room is the Copilot integration. Personally, I believe that this is one place where Copilot does make sense, environmental concerns aside. I know that a lot of creatives use AI to generate images, and while some may be using professional alternatives, Paint still offers a decent casual experience, with the power of Copilot. Of course, you do need to have a valid Microsoft 365 Copilot license and available credits to use it, but even if you don't, you still get the big Copilot button in the toolbar, unfortunately. All in all, I am glad that Microsoft Paint continues to be a native feature in Windows 11, and a piece of software that has evolved to meet modern needs without cutting off its own roots. It's just an iconic piece of Windows history that was an essential part of my childhood, and while I don't use it anymore, I'm just glad it is still there.
