OK please somebody help me - I'm running Samurize 0.85d Beta (as of about 3 hours ago) and so far every single one of the configs that I've downloaded from here (Judge, DavidM, Eliteone) ALL fail to run and I cant even open them in the config editor. I can edit them in notepad but being a n00b to Samurize I have no idea what I'm looking at ;p

Can anybody offer me any suggestions as to why these dont work - I have created a very basic one of my own and it works fine. If it makes any difference, I'm running XP SP1

Cheers

Another quick question-downloaded all of judges panels and everything is working wonderful except were the kb/s is to the right of the progress bars-they continue to show 0-were the progress bars show activity. When I open the config editor-they show correctly in the design area-help!

I am having the same problem as MagicMan. ALthough the new zip file that Judge has graciously given us does seem to work somewhat, but the zip itself is missing a bunch of .png's and thus I can't edit the files in the Samurize editor (anything tmp*.png from the Desktop weather folder skins is missing eg, tmpImageMain.png, etc.). Additionally, the calendar program works, but it comes up kind of screwy. There are four days added to the left hand side that screw everything up (23, 24, 25, 26). Is this an internal problem. Are we doing something wrong here. Are we suppossed to change those file names to something else.

Thanks

Steve

You don't (shoudn't) need the tmp*.png files. The script will create them, just load the config up and let it rip.

As for the calendar - I use the JudgeCalendar script which removes the week numbers from the calendar.

Hmm....I seem to be having some problems getting my weather png's to change...I have to manually "Reload Config" to get them to switch...

Is there more to this than using the "get cache files" in my config and making sure my script has "reload after get cache files" set to "true" ?

Am I missing something?

Thanks for any help...

Ok...here's some more info in the hopes someone has some ideas...

When I go edit my config in Samurize...and I go to my "Get cache files" action/command, if I hit "Test Script", the result is "False".

Is that telling me that it's not working? Is this supposed to happen? Any thoughts or ideas would help. :)

If you're using W2K the auto-reload function doesn't work :-(. Other than that check the following:

  • Check that you have RESTART set to true in DesktopWeather.vbs
  • The argument to getCacheFiles is how old the cache files have to be (in minutes) before the script will restart the client - a return value of false means that neither of the cache files were that old. If you want to test that it works, delete one or both of the cache files (weather.daily.html and weather.hourly.html) then hit the 'test' button in the config editor.
  • Make sure that you have scheduled getCacheFiles to be called by Samurize every so often.

I'm having some problems with Judges Desktop Weather script as well.

Currently & Today's Weather icons are correct.. however the rest of the week's icons are all wrong compared to weather.com's info for my city. The Temp. info is all correct for every day though.

Any Idea's? ..

hey judge,

well, i do as you say...open up the desktop weather script and let it rip, and yet it comes up saying that it can't find the tmpMainPage.png or something like that. It doesn't seem to create it. I am running sam .85d, and i downloaded your zipped file from a day or two ago.

As for the calendar, your script appears to run off of acalenda. This flaw seems to be inherent in acalenda cause i found the same script on the NemPortal and it does the same thing. Do you have the JudgeCalendar script and config available (did I miss it in the posts).

Thanks a bunch.

well i'm not sure if this is where i should post this but i made a simple png file for a background to samurize configs, or anything else for that matter that you could use it for. all i did was make a partially transparent png to make the effect with a white area for the config (meant to look like paper folded kind of). here's everything for it and a small screenshot with it used to see the transparency

png file...(remember IE can't handle png files correctly)

paper.png

psd file if interested in editing

and screen in use (downsized to post)

    • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
