Hey I feel like this is my personel thread-question -in script editor-under get files cache,no problem-set to 5 minutes, but under that get file cache-set minutes to 5,but then it asks for a value for file name-I set it at 5 also and I get an unspecified error-is this why my forcast png"s won"t set-any suggestions would be much appreciated!!!

Can't get Judges weather script to work. I went onto weather.com and searched for Newcastle, UK and came up with this: http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/loca...LocalUndeclared from this I guessed that my location was UKXXX0098. Didn't work. So I tried 0098. Didn't work. I think looked at the example and relalised that for US cities such as New York the begining of the address begins: http://www.weather.com/weather/local/USNY0996 notice Newcastle had /outlook/travel rather than /weather. I tried everything and could not figure it out. I even tried weather.co.uk. Any ideas on what I could do or is there anyone who could configure the script for Newcastle for me?

Thankyou

OK...I'm back :)

bucben, read back a couple pages and you'll see that I had the same problem...

Judge advised me that I had to set up an "instance" of Samurize that would be restarted (in order for Samurize to show your new icons, you need for it to restart periodically)...

So in my case, I set up a shortcut to Client.exe, and gave it the property of: "C:\Program Files\Samurize\Client.exe" "Beacon".....put this shortcut in your Samurize folder, where Client.exe is.

In your script there's a spot where you indicate which "instance" of Samurize you want to restart...so in that spot, you put the name of your instance (In my case: Beacon)

Obviously you can change the name of your instance...just make sure that the name your script has for "instance" is the same as the name in your Samurize shortcut.

Hope this helps...

hi, i've tried messing with judge's .ini file and just cannot seem to get it to work. I always seem to come back to the same error message. the message is as follows... 'Cannot open file "C:\Program Files\Samurize\skins\DesktopWeather\tmpImageMain.png". The system cannot find the file specified.' I began getting that message after i created the DesktopWeather folder in the skins directory myself. Before I created the DesktopWeather folder it said 'Cannot open file "C:\Program Files\Samurize\skins\DesktopWeather\tmpImageMain.png". The system cannot find the path specified.'

Anyone have any solutions to this problem? I've noticed a couple other people that has had the same problem, has anyone came up with a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hi, i still cannot figure out the problem here for the life of me. The quote here was my original post, anyone have any suggestions?

Bigred, appreciate the reply-however I don"t think that is quite my problem-I do run an instance-I think its set to restart every5 minutes and it does and as a matter of fact everything updates as it should except the smaller pings at the bottom for the extended forcast. Do you think I need to setup a different instance for the extended forcast?Thanx again your help has been appreciated!!!PS-heres a pic of the pings that never change

I'm getting the same, in fact with every script i've tried here so far. I'm combing through the pages in this thread trying to find some clues to make it work, but if ppl are still havent a problem I guess there hasnt been any yet.

Hi guys. In an effort to reduce my support costs I've made some changes to the DesktopWeather script :p . It should now handle the two most common causes of problems. Namely:

1. The user having set their Weather.com preferences to 'metric'.

2. People outside the US not being able to get 'hourly' forecasts.

So. The script is attached. Backup your old copy of DesktopWeather.vbs, extract this one and then copy your settings over (things like USE_CELSIUS and CITY etc.).

DesktopWeather.zip

so far i've been using a simpler config... but i wanted to add a small weather section

unfortunately i am in the same boat as pigeon

none of the weather scripts seem to work - i run the client using judge's provided shortcut (samurize weather) which points to the client location and "weather" and i have the instance set up and everything else... but whenever i test anything like getCity it just does N/A

i live near toronto and i try using "Toronto, Canada" and that won't work... the only thing that does seem to work is the celsius boolean.

Hey you fella"s in Canada need to move-just kidding-wish I could help!!! Judge I"m interested in your image magic, but don"t know exactly what I need to download from them to make it work-they offer several different downloads at several different sizes-want it to show weather radar screens for my area, any help would be greatly appreciated-thanx in advance-your customer service has been immpeccable!!!!

I have read through most on the Samurize and looked all through the scripts. I have yet to find a weather program that goes through a proxy. Does anyone know how to accomplish this. I really want to get my weather working at work but I have to go through a proxy. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

:)
