Here's mine. Made the windows and the config myself. Icons were snag from here and there. The konfabulator looking weather is REAL. It's a WORKING version , which will update the weather pngs dynamically every hourly, to reflect the currect weather condition, and it's script is compatible with 0.80a and up till 0.84.

Holy cow, how are you doing this? Even Cure and Sim said this wasn't possible.. If you've found a way around this I'd love to know how you did it. btw, are you on the samurize forums?

hmm...it's possible. When you are in samurize official site, look under weather scripts, look for weatherPLUS. Look at the instructions on how to install it. Basically is to get ur city id.

For eg. http://weather.interceptvector.com/weather...DAwMDM%3D" is an example of my country xml page. So my id = "U05YWDAwMDM= " . Open up the 'refreshweather.vbs' and change the city id .

Note the id is the 'U05YWDAwMDM' but you have to add a ' = ' sign behind it , then after that, save and load the config. PM me if you still have problems.

And I forgot to mention, the refreshweather.vbs needs to be on the MS schedule. The refresh weather vbs will grab the infor from the web eg, temp and weather symbol and restart samurize on it own. When samurize loads, it will show the new symbol , if there's any changes , new temp and condition.

You can set the vbs to run every hourly, to avoid hammering the server.

Here's mine: Unfortunately I haven't fixed the weather errors yet.

Hey gambit, could you please tell me where you got those YzDock icons from, especially that winamp one! It's heaps mad :D

Anyone have a script for samurize that can receive optus netstat information? or maybe the tv guide for foxtel/optusnet?

I've been working on Samurize for a couple days now (weather icons still a bit iffy), the attached image is what I came up with... comments welcome :)

Hi,

For the weatherplus script,

how to set it is being run once an hour?

I can only set the script run daily on a specific time

I don't expected it needs to add 24 schedules...

Thanks.

Ok, first for 'schedule' to work, you need to have a password for your log in account for XP. I know some people like me who doesn't use password will find it a hassle, but I couldn't cheat schedule, it just plain refuses to run without a password. So added my password to my Log in account.

Ok.. after that, set it to run 'daily ' , 'schedule task' = Every 1 day . CLICK on ADVANCE Button, CHECK on "repeat task" , then for "Every " field, put in 61 minutes.

Next, Check on the "DURATION" and put in there 24 hours. Click Ok, Click apply, that should run .

Ah okay, your using the scheduler to change the png. I kinda figured that's how you were doing it..

I won't have problem installing the script, I'm on the crew ;)

:( Can't get it how to make it to change the png's

Any1 that like to explain it :( for a newbie on scripts....

Ok.. the "refreshweather vbs" is the file responsinle for getting the image infor from the website, and changing the tmp one on your computer.

So every hourly, this vbs will get the updated data from the website, changed the tmp image to be shown on your computer, then restarts samruize so that samurize can show the new image along with the new weather.

any chance of hooking us up with that script?

I can't attach the file as it's 546 kb..... way exceeded the site's maximum, anyone wants to host it? My icq, msn, aim infor is in my signature, contact me 9- 10 hrs later, coz i need to sleep. Night all.

If you can't wait, go www.samurize.com. The script is under "weather" section. It's made by cicada.

    • Microsoft wants to end printer driver headaches with Windows Ready Print by Usama Jawad A few days ago, Microsoft released Windows 11 Experimental build 26300.8553, bringing a ton of enhancements such as Start menu customization, search improvements, Taskbar polish, and other minor UI tweaks. Another relatively major enhancement snuck deep within the change log was related to upgrades to the Windows printing experience. Now, Microsoft has shared more details about these benefits. For starters, Microsoft has renamed its Modern Print Platform to Windows Ready Print. The company believes that this name highlights its shift in strategy, which now focuses on modernizing, securing, and streamlining the printing experience for Windows devices. Some of the upgrades present in Windows Ready Print have already been seeded to customers and partners. This includes ending support for third-party printer drivers via Windows Update and transitioning towards the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and the native Windows IPP printer driver. In line with these changes, new printer installations will default to Windows Ready Print on eligible devices starting from July 2026. However, Microsoft recognizes that not all environments will be able to migrate to this platform immediately, so it will allow users to choose between installing the printer via Windows Ready Print or the traditional OEM process. Users will be able to toggle this configuration through Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > Printer preferences. This control applies only to new printer installations, and its functionality can also be modified via Group Policy as follows: Launch Group Policy Editor Navigate to Local Computer Policy -> Administrative Templates -> Printers Find and select 'Configure Windows Ready Print driver ranking' -> double click to open it Select 'Enabled' (if you wish to enable Windows Ready Print driver selection) or 'Disabled' (if you wish to explicitly disable Windows Ready Print driver selection). Select Apply Select OK Similarly, if you set up Windows protected print mode through the same setting in Windows 11, it will also default to using Windows Ready Print exclusively. Microsoft hopes that these improvements will help eradicate dependency on OEM-specific driver installation processes and simplify printer installations. We'll likely find out more about other tangible benefits in the coming months.

    • Agreed, but now my muscle memory immediately creates a layer for each text portion, so editing is made a little easier.
    • Happy for him, it is one of the first apps I install on a new Windows machine, been using it for years!
