Things like the TARDIS being bigger on the inside

That's one thing they didn't always do in classic Who. I did like The Doctor's failed attempt in explaining it to Leela in The Robots of Death.

I cried a bit a few times, but when Clara popped in for that two line little cameo I was like OK Moffat you got me. I didn't even find Clara that good to be honest - but Capaldi's Doctor did and you can see it in his face. Plus he got the memories back, so yeah. So many (SO MANY) callbacks to the older series (and I mean older as in like, old lol) but also callbacks to the current run. I believe this was Murray Gold's last Doctor Who also if I'm not mistaken. So all the Doomsday and what not music beats were great to hear again.

I loved it personally. I know not everyone did and that's fine. I liked Jodie's small little thing of course and I'm waiting with baited breath for 2019? for the new series. Also, no one else thought the Tardis literally threw her out because it has to redo the inside again? Like doesn't the Tardis do that every time now? :D

2019?!!?!?!

The Orville season 2 is also 2019 :(

Wait what? I thought it was coming back this Fall? I wonder if its because the ratings aren't there (could have sworn it had decent enough ratings though) or its time slot etc. Shame all the good shows are so far away now. Westworld is also 2019 no? Meh.

Westworld is spring 2018,... Orville is 2019 because they need time to do the effects and stuff.

While we're talking about shows that are getting pushed back another year, 2018 is going to be another huge year for anime. 2012-2013 brought us Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online, which pretty much brought anime into the mainstream for a while (and put huge targets on the backs of those shows by fans who want to keep the fandom small), but they're both getting a third season this year. Titan had its second season last year after a four year break. While Titan is Renaissance era survival horror, SAO is aimed more at the sci-fi crowd, tapping Tron and The Matrix (and actually semi-adapting an older anime series) to spin a tale of a VR game with deadly consequences. And of course no shortage of pretty girls to latch onto the main guy, including his sister, because anime. They're actually getting two seasons, a mainline third season and a spinoff. Tokyo Ghoul, a supernatural horror series, and A Certain Magical Index, a supernatural/school life series, are also getting third seasons.

I know which way the anime thread is, but while we're talking about Westworld and Orville and STD, I figure these are or could be just as relevant to DW fans.

Oh right, I forgot Westworld came out in 2016, not 2017 lol Mannnnn, 2019 woulda sucked real bad for Westworld if that was the case.

But yeah, a ton of shows delay returns because they don't want to put to much out there or because the creative team needs the time to make *good* TV and not rushed TV.

And isn't Sherlock like 4 or 5 episodes max for a series/season anyway? Sucks fans have to wait so long for new episodes and then you only get a few of them (unless they are like 2 hours long or something, which I doubt).

They are pretty long ... about an hour and a half.  3 episodes per season... about 2-3 years between each season.  I'll probably wait until they wrap everything up to watch them all .. I've seen season 1 and 2...but dang if I can't remembered what happened.

New logo looks a bit Strange to me... I'm sure it'll grow on us. Wonder if we'll get a new theme and opening. I just hope they keep that thing they used to do and brought back for Capaldi, where the Doctor's face is shown in the clouds or a nebula or whatever. They didn't do it with Nine or Ten and I think it started with Twelve, though Eleven's last year may have had it, too. I don't quite remember. TARDIS redesigns are always nice. Who got the round seal back? I believe that was Eleven. And a finer grain finish, I think they just replaced the TARDIS prop entirely. There isn't much they can change about it (it's really just a box) but it's nice to be wowed. Of course it's a given they'll change the interior. (I'd love to have a man cave inspired by one of the TARDIS interiors. Without looking at them again, I think Eleven had my favorite.

New logo...

I like it... very minimalist.

There were a few people saying the new logo gives a nod to the new Doctor being female, if you rotate it 90 degrees anti-clockwise, the O forms the feminine symbol. Whether that's by design, who knows.

Good thing they've got a new writer in then!

    • Windows 11 is a big thumbs down from me. I used for a period of a few days while it was in insider and windows 10 was the main OS, and realised it wasn't for me. I am still waiting for Windows to be tolerable again, a shame as at one point I was very pro Microsoft.
    • Classic outlook, not only does it have a much fuller feature set, it doesn't include Microsoft attempting to sync my emails from my servers to theirs. If classic outlook is ever removed from office, and the version I paid for in 2021 stops working for some reason, I'll use Thunderbird.

Visual effects include options for masking, blue-screen, distortions, rotations, colour tools, blurring, obscuring and others. Configurable keyboard shortcuts and interface layouts. Rendering is done using a separate non-blocking process so it can be stopped, paused and restarted. Kdenlive also provides a script called the Kdenlive Builder Wizard (KBW) that compiles the latest developer version of the software and its main dependencies from source, to allow users to try to test new features and report problems on the bug tracker. Project files are stored in XML format. An archiving feature allows exporting a project among all assets into a single folder or compressed archive. • Here's how to watch the Xbox Games Showcase today and what to expect by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The June games showcase week has been a packed one, with everything from major presentations like Sony and Summer Game Fest to indie-focused reveals coming in almost every day. Now, it's almost time for another big one, with Microsoft bringing its Xbox Games Showcase back later today. This is a double feature too, with a Gears of War E-Day deep dive also being attached to it. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase is kicking off at 10 AM PT | 1 PM ET | 6 PM BST | 7 PM CEST later today, June 7. The event will be available to watch on the official Xbox YouTube (4K 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, Steam, Amazon Live, and other portals. Separate livestreams for American Sign Language and Audio Description will also be available. "This year marks 25 years of XBOX, and this Showcase is poised to be a true celebration, offering world premieres, new gameplay, fresh updates, and more for a swathe of projects we cannot wait to share," said Microsoft about this presentation. With a new CEO behind it that is pulling off some interesting moves, Xbox may have some surprises to reveal today. New looks at first-party games like Halo Campaign Evolved from Halo studios, Fable from Playground Games, InXile Entertainment's Clockwork Revolution, Mojang's Minecraft Dungeons II, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from Infinity Ward are to be expected here. We may finally get to see the new Blade from Arcane Studios in action and a new Persona game from Atlus at the showcase too. Surprise announcements may also arrive from other Microsoft-owned studios like Bethesda, MachineGames, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, Rare, World's Edge, or Blizzard. Considering how every new release nowadays is staying away from November and December to avoid Grand Theft Auto VI's release, any launch dates Microsoft announces will probably skip those months as well. Once the Xbox Games Showcase ends, Microsoft will immediately kick off the Gears of War: E-Day Direct. This deep dive into the upcoming prequel from The Coalition should attach gameplay footage and perhaps a release window to the highly anticipated project.
