Sad thing though is that play are usually awful with shipping so you might not even receive on the games release day, sometimes play pull through and you get the game on the day or early.

That is true. I don't want to put a dampener on your hopes PiracyX, but I've never preordered with Play.com before for this same reason (as well as price differences also). Amazon can be the same, although it's really hit or miss with them I think.

Seeing as it's a big release though, they might be making preperations for this Monday to send copies out early. If not, it will only be a day or two max anyways. Not like HMV who keep you waiting for weeks on end :p

Lingwo, when did you order your Legendary? I placed mine 19th March, just trying to work out when they went up for preorder on Gameplay's site.

Oh no! I am kinda annoyed with myself now. I did order at Virgin like 2 months ago but i don't know if i ordered it in time as a few days later they pulled it from the website.

This is why i was always willing to hold out and wait until Play confirmed they were up for preorder. This was my last shot really sicne everywhere else has sold out and me getting one from Virgin wasn't confirmed.

In the past i have had good service from Play who did arrive my copy of HL2:E1 the day it came out so i hope i will get the same quick service from them, thats if i am lucky to even get it with the limited numbers. Lasy year i ordered Gears of War from HMV and that came same day at launch but they may have been a one off.

If you haven't heard from Play already, I'd say it's safe your copy is reserved. What ever you do, don't cancel it :p

I've not bought from Virgin before, but I do know Green_Eye from Neowin got his copy of Bioshock on release date. Heard all kinds of stories about HMV though. Maybe that was s*** service in the past though?

I've always had great service from Play as well, but their free post is a little slow hence why I never preorder with them. They always get stuff to me in the time frame they set too. Don't sit and worry over it though honestly :) Watch some more vidocs or gameplay videos :D

I ordered mine on the 16th May. I was going to order it sooner but i wanted to see what other places offered in terms of price.

PiracyX, you should get it on release, just i never trust play because of their lack of shipping options.

I pre-ordered my copy today. I was thinking of getting the standard edition but somehow i decided to go for Collector's edition. Cant wait for 25th to collect my game and free Halo 3 faceplate :)

The full and final Halo 3 disc has been uploaded to the internet by piracy groups a week before the game's release next Wednesday.

This is hardly surprising since, earlier this week, the game's street date was broken when numerous copies were sold by major UK retailer, Argos (to people who we're very jealous of right now). It was only a matter of time before a copy of the game founds its way into the hands of a pirate.

It's not worth you going on the hunt for it though. A pirate copy of the game won't work on a normal Xbox 360, and if you modify your console you stand the strong risk of being banned for life from Xbox Live, which renders Halo 3's fantastic multiplayer mode useless.

Just wait, guys. There's only a few more days left...

Remember, Neowin has rules about piracy. So no handing out links kiddies ;)

^ Its just amazing that it was leaked on the web a week before it came out. I sure don't remember this happening with Halo 2 or 1.

Halo 2 leaked ages before it hit retail. Can't remember exactly how long before, but it was around a month or so

OK!... so i've finally given in! I've been saying for weeks that i've not got the cash for a new game so couldnt get halo 3 (even tho the last two are the best games!!) but i've given in n just ordered it!!! :D :D

Well cant wait now!!!

    • For a guy who claims to hate Farage and the ignorant, gullible, rightwing racist skinheads sponsored by Putin that his lies represent, you sure are quoting them time and time and time again, mate. I guess you're conveniently ignoring the fact that your country and commonwealth just happened to work much better when it was still part of the E.U.? Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
    • Do you live in the U.K? Do any of the people here that are against the UK leaving the E.U, live in the U.K? If not then why are you bothered? If you do live here then it is a different thing . Brexit was a good idea, should have done it years before, it was done badly, but the idea was good. You are saying the same thing as remainers do, oh we did what Putin wanted, we listened to the lies and Farage. I hate Farage and never believed most of what he said, certainly did not believe the £350m a week for the NHS. But we did pay a lot of money to the E.U and yes some of it came back, but what is the point of paying it out for only some of it to come back? Get out of the E.U, no money to them and in theory we can use the money to do things in the country. I said in theory, but our governments are a total and complete waste of space. No matter what colour rosette they wear. You and others say it was a mistake and yet the two main parties in the U.K are not looking at rejoining the EU, I wonder why that is? I was not tricked by anyone. Makes no odds now, we are out and have been for 10 years, what we need is a decent government to run the country. All they do is shout at each other like a load of kids and seems to do nothing and make this country more into a police and nanny state. Getting more like China all the time.

    • Yeah... The root of my comment, ostensibly, is how to spin the story via the actual technical merits of the solution! * Decentralized (aka federated) solution with built-in encrypted ephemeral message transport, * Transport via Relays (intermediary servers) with no message archival, * Second configurable pathway are actual email servers (if DNS records are programmed accordingly) via IMAP protocols carriage, * "Chat-over-Email" is the design pattern adopted; it can either leverage full-blown Email Server (must use the INBOX folder) to exchange all received messages/edits/reactions (so be weary of notifications overloads) [best practice is creating a separate email acct used explicitly for federated chat purposes!] or leverage its built-in Relay Server mechanism which actually resides on-device (by default but can be configured otherwise), * By virtue of be a decentralized/federated model, all other intermediary servers who may pass-along messages (while the recipient's final relay/device is inaccessible) cannot snoop on the messages due to the encrypted nature of contents. The intermediaries may, however, analyze the metadata due to the simple fact that routing mechanisms require hints for relay destinations. Unfortunately, whomever is posting about DeltaChat across socials are misleading with "zero metadata" claims -- especially when the Relays (according to their own technical documents) mandate the addition of chat-version metadata and other decorations in order to actually transport any message. -- Based on this summary, I'd prefer if they'd better dual-path message transport (email server add-in, federated relay engine) rather than patch-on email protocols to existing federated social media frameworks. They're frankensteining something rather than extending widely-deployed technology stacks.
