I think i know who the 4th out of the oceanic 6 is.

1) Jack (confirmed)

2) Kate (confirmed)

3) Hurley (confirmed)

4) Sawyer (not confirmed)

I just sort of used clues of words they actually say, and tried putting 2 and 2 together.

So does anyone know if we're going to get an official Lost podcast? Or are Carlton and Damon not doing it until the strike is over?

Yeah thats a very good point. There is nothing on the ABC site.

Looking at the pics - Interesting how they got a picture of Ben, must there "primary objective", so is this why Ben really didn't want them here? Are they after him? Is that why he didn't have the surgery done off the island?

Also, nice sig Rappy :D

I was talking with a guy at work who also watches Lost and we were thinking about the possible six that get off the island. We only know three at this point so we started speculating the other three. Obviously one of those will be the guy who was in the casket in the Season Three finale. Most people I've heard or read online say they believe it is Michael, which makes sense. Both Kate & Jack would have something against him, no one on the mainland would go to his funeral (especially if Walt was left on the island). But I have a different thought: Ben.

Ben hasn't really been part of the US, so he wouldn't have any "ties" to other people. He probably doesn't have much or any money as it wouldn't be needed on the island, which explains being buried in a poor neighborhood where no one came the funeral. Plus Jack stated he was neither a friend nor a family member. But it would also explain Jack's reaction. It would inflame his passion for wanting to go back to the island so bad that, because he knew he never would be able to, he had to kill himself to get over the obsession. It would also explain Kate's reaction as well. Jack: "I thought you'd go to the funeral." Kate: "Why would I?"

The reason I'm leaning more towards Ben is because if it had been Michael, wouldn't the authorities be asking a lot of questions about where Walt is? I can't imagine that Michael would lie about his son, what happened to him considering all that he's gone through to try and keep him alive.

Of course it could be Locke as well, considering the relationship strain between Jack, Kate and Locke. But I highly doubt Locke would have left on his own. He would most definitely been forced off the island, which I don't see happening.

I'm sticking with Ben personally, at least at this point in time.

It's really hard to figure it out with confidence because to my recollection, there haven't been an major clues other than the brief glimpse at the newspaper clipping, which said he had a son. As far as we know, Michael is the only one who has a son. I figure it's either Locke or Ben, given Jack and Kate's lack of compassion for the person. It obviously affected Jack, despite him stating the person was neither friend or family. That, to me, is the biggest give away (which isn't much) on who it is, and I'd say Ben as well because he was right, but a part of me feels that it could be someone else too.

Have the writers designed Lost to mini-end on episode 8? Or will the storyline just halt?

Thye have filmed the end of 8 that will satisfy yet make us want it more but it will come to some sort of conclusion.

In other words it just halts more or less.

Yep. At tis point they can't do anything other than what the script says. Pencils down means pencils down, which translates into no changes in a script. JJ Abrams was talking about a scene with Quinto for the Star Trek movie where a line would sound better saying "this," but he couldn't make the change because of the strike. It has to end with what's already in place.

I think if they were able to announce a deal tomorrow or sometime this week the writers could easily get out four screenplays and they could be filmed (mostly at the same time; meaning two film crews each working with the actors that's needed for that particular scene). They could easily get four more episodes out which would conclude the season very nicely.

ABC might even allow this show to run into the summers months considering how popular it is. Who knows? At this point, anyone's guess is as good as mine.

Good point about Dumb it down, but DON'T dumb it down, it can be done - X-files anyone?

It will confuse idiots or some not following the show some, but I thought X-files movie was really good!

Not only was the X-Files movie absolutely terrible, but it was dumbed down a great deal. There is no way you can make an argument that it wasn't. In a two hour movie, there is no way you can have the plot development, the character development, the mysteries, etc that you have in a 20ish hour season. Its just not possible.

Probably the best you could hope for would be a back story as the plot for the movie. To give more info about the 4-toed statue or the black rock.

I would imagine we will learn more about that soon I remember Damon and Carlton saying that they would answer those questions in Season 4 but this was before the strike.

Sorry, my second line should have ended "...black rock, for example" There are plenty of topics that they could use from the lost universe. Maybe a dharma movie or how smoky will pwn us all.

You know I would love to have a hour long episode set back in the day when Dharma were first on the Island not like Bens ep but like explaining what each station was and what it was like back then.

I think Sawyer is one of them because when Kate and Jack met at the airport she said "he will want to know where i am" i think the he is Sawyer they might be together

and Walt and Micheal i think are the other two if they ever "really" got of the island.

    • I can't believe Starmer is still there...his party lost so big. He's a stubborn coot, but this is largely unenforceable, so I would imagine he'll be resigning soon. A key here is for parents to buy their kids phones sans Internet access--and set up the Internet at home, where mom and day can, you know, act like parents instead expecting the government to raise their kids.
    • EA launches in-game advertising platform for brands to "connect with audiences" by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The gaming giant Electronic Arts is exploring more ways to inject real-life brands into its games. Announced today as EA Advertising, the new platform is attempting to make it easier for brands to reach out for deals with the company and put their products inside titles like EA Sports FC, Madden, NHL, Skate, or The Sims. EA revealed that its EA Sports side of the company brings in "hundreds of millions of players across console, PC, and mobile" every year. Fan engagement of these titles was also touted as being "extraordinary," with 23,000 NFL seasons worth of games being played in Madden NFL daily, while EA Sports FC sees over a billion matches a day. “Players come to EA’s games and live experiences every day to play, watch, create and connect,” said David Tinson, Chief Experiences Officer at Electronic Arts. “That gives brands a meaningful opportunity to show up in ways that add value and respect the player experience, while maintaining authenticity in the worlds our teams are building. With EA Advertising, we’re helping brands become part of those moments in ways that are relevant and built for players.” Using the new program EA Advertising, brands will be able to inject their products into games in real-time via dynamic placement. EA says partners will have access to everything from stadium signage in sports games and targeted adverts to in-game content custom-made for the brands. These are described as additions designed to "enhance, not disrupt" experiences. "In these interactive gameplay environments, brands become part of the game itself, reflecting how players engage with advertising in real-world contexts," adds the company "Brands can activate across live environments, tailoring placements to meet campaign objectives, and update campaigns with ongoing optimization informed by aggregated engagement insights." Current real-world brand partnerships EA has built into its games include Visa (EA Sports FC and College Football), Lowe's (EA Sports FC, Madden NFL, and College Football), Red Bull (EA SPORTS FC), Xfinity and Peacock (EA SPORTS FC), and Mountain Dew’s (College Football).

    • UK to ban under-16s from social media following a six-week trial with teenagers by Paul Hill Credit: Pexels A few months ago, Neowin reported that the UK was trialing a social media ban with 300 teenagers for six weeks, that testing has come to an end, and Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the country will ban under-16s from social media. Starmer said that this technology is making children unhappy and making it easier for bullies to harass and abuse them. He continued to talk about the addictive nature of social media, saying that it uses an infinite scroll designed to lock users in for hours. He said this interferes with children doing their homework, reading, playing with friends outside, and going to bed on time. Tackling the idea that nothing can be done about social media, Starmer said: The government’s action won’t stop at social media either, the PM said. It plans to take action on gaming services and livestreaming platforms. Right now, he said, strangers can contact any child unchecked. He said this wouldn’t happen in real life, and the government is going to stop it from happening online, too. The Labour government has overseen the introduction of the Online Safety Act, a big change to the internet which includes age verification on adult websites. This has led to a fair bit of backlash, but overall, the government is pushing ahead with these changes.
