Good question episode I heard something the other day infact it might of been earlier that Charlie isn't dead off the island or something but it was only a theory due to the time loop.

J Nall thinks the appearance of our favorite rocker was all in Hurley's mind. "Given Hurley's history of seeing things that aren't there I don't think Charlie is corporeal," he said. "As much as I hate to say it I think Charlie is just dead."

Could Charlie be both dead and alive at the same time? locke_look_alike thinks so, thanks to the wacky time issues on the island. "Charlie is both alive and dead -- a time loop could allow for that."

But thats only fan views and I tend to agree that maybe a time loop could be the reason.

Time loop wouldn't explain how there are only six survivors while everyone knew Charlie was on the plain and tribute was paid to him.

Me too! She's now all dead, but she is, let's say, a presence in the next two episodes (at least).

There are four of them, and the one that wasn't credited as a regular in the season premiere is my personal fave. Two of the others remind me of Sawyer (snarky and kind of mean) and Juliet (beautiful and capable), and the fourth? Well, before too long he's gonna be truuuh-bul.

I though the episode was OK at first and didn't really seem like a season opener but after thinking about it for a while and some of the stuff it revealed, it became a bit more interesting.

Off the Island yes because of the time loop, to be it sounds logical but I am always for the far out ideas.

It also wouldn't explain how he just disappeared after Hurley closed his eyes. It is possible he got up and ran away, but why would he do that?
