Let me guess... it sucked?

No I was still in the LOST hangover. But I snapped back to say, shouldn't the contents of the black box be publicized, or did they just retrieved it and that's why it's on the boat.

1) He's got enough money to fly to Korea just to see Sun's baby

2) He doesn't want to see any of the other four Oceanic Six members...when Sun said no one else was coming, Hurley replied "Good."

Also, Sun seemed to be in a hotel room at the beginning of the episode. Why is she traveling?

1) They had a large sum of compensation from Oceanic.

2) Hurley met some of them before so I think he doesn't mind seeing them, but perhaps he doesn't want the others to know that Jin is dead?

Yeah I thought Jin at first was giving Panda to Sun and then he wasn't which is weird, does make you think so does he get off and Die hence the last 2...I mean theres no more reveals in the 6 the 6 I read were Jack,Hurley,Kate,Jin,Sun and Hurley which is true and that was way back at the beginning of the season.

With the date of the tombstone, Jin CANNOT be one of the Oceanic Six. The tombstone says he died on the day of the crash.

Now, there are still two possibilities. Jin dies on the island, or Jin is still alive on the island. You can say 'well, Sun wouldn't have a tombstone if he was alive'. Not necessarily. They would expect her to mourn her dead husband and have a funeral for him when she got back. She couldn't say 'I know he's alive on the island'.

One other thing that springs to mind is that Jack mentioned at Kate's trial that there were eight originally and two died. Could those two be Claire and Jin? And if so, are both dead? Or are they both alive on island?

This brings up the problem with the date of the conception of the baby, since it happened, IIRC, at around day 45.

I wonder what part of the post island timeline visiting Jins grave is because we know Hurley was in the mental institution and they wouldn't of just let him go.

Then it has to be before he goes in. We can start filling in the dates because of this episodes flash forwards, finally.

Sun's FF is first, roughly 6-7 months after the island.

Then Hurley's.

Then Kate's.

Then Jack's.

We know Sayid's is before Jack's, but not where in the timeline it is.

Hurley and Kate may be swapped as well, not sure. I'm basing this on Aaron's age, I figure Hurley won't wait til 2 or so years off island to start 'seeing' Charlie.

They said in the 'newcomer' episode that the plane was too deep for anything to be recovered. That was the official media story. So Widmore spent his own money to recover the black box and keep the contents for himself.

Other stuff: We got a lot of interesting tidbits as well. It was indeed Ben who had the fake plane put down there. However, the captain could be lying, and if they didn't know about the plane, as Miles said (damn, Miles must really be hating that grenade by now) that they didn't know about 815 until they radioed the boat - then how did they know to recover the black box?

I don't think Jin is dead. I think Sun thinks he is. I think he's still on the island. Why would they put a false date on the tombstone? And it said 2004. We've established we're already around December 27th-29th so if he did indeed die in 2004, it would be on the island. Did they bring his body back? If not, it's just a tombstone there. Somehow I don't think Sun knows as much about the secret that the other Oceanic 6 are keeping.

Sun probably knows just as much as everyone else. She wouldn't suddenly forget about all of the other survivors. They're all lying about what happened.

The tombstone reads 2004-9-22 (vertically on the third column):

ji_yeon.png

Jin didn't die on the day the plane crashed, but he's also being portrayed as dead on that date, so he can't be one of the six. Lindelof and Cuse said that if there were any questions as to who the six were by this (or the eighth) episode, they would say each name in the podcasts. Maybe Michael was one of the six? We haven't seen him until this episode, so maybe they were alluding to that? It was stated that Aaron wasn't one of the six, it's possible for Ben to be one (especially with those numerous passports he had hidden away). It's hard to say, maybe they'll reveal it in the podcast? We shall see!

So there is still a debate on the fact if Jin is alive or dead, but I believe he will be alive, but found other means to get off the island, and is looking for Sun.

The List so far:

1) Kate

2) Jack

3) Hurley

4) Sayid

5) Sun

6) unknown

Other Survivors:

1) Ben

2) Aaron (the baby)

3) desmond???

Hurley is the only one in the Oceanic 6 that was on Locke's side. The other 4 - Jack, Sayid, Kate, and Sun were on the "lets get rescued" side. Maybe Jin had to make a deal and get traded for Hurley some how at one point, maybe to save sun, or guarantee her spot in the rescue. Maybe Hurley now feels obligated to kind of watch after her for Jin, since jin is still on the island!

AH HA!!

It's possible that Jin died on the island somehow and that the Oceanic Six are trying to cover up any trace of "other" survivors of the crash.

You know how Jack was lying in court about how many survived the crash?

Or...Sun is made to believe that Jin died on the island but he's actually still there?

Both of these would mean...a fake burial?

Man...confusing. lol.

Oh crap... :(

The date on the headstone says 2004 9 22?

Really? Jin seems to be alive in the episode though!

Best explanation is that Jin's scenes off the island were flash backs (last Year of the Dragon was in 2000) and Sun's were flash forwards.

It's December 24, not September. Remember, Desmond called Penny on Christmas Eve.

Oh yeah, it could be a Flashback!

So I guess Jin is NOT one of the survivors then? Someone else is (Sawyer?)

Or it's 2012...

More Lost Weirdness

They didn't even celebrate Christmas?

I remember last week's preview saying that in this episode, we'd learn the last identities in the Oceanic Six... Since we only have Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, and Sun in 'flashforward' episodes... Does that mean that Michael is the sixth? Or are they counting Aaron in the six?

It seems to me that Jin isn't dead at all, maybe just he just stayed on the island for some unknown reason.

And why there is a tombstone? Maybe for closure or could it be to fake his death? The only reason I could think of is Sun doesn't want her father to knows Jin's alive. Since Jin workign for her father didn't "work" so well.

Who knows ^^

Anyone able to read Korean? Wonder if there was anything special on the tombstone.

Also, I would think that Jin is dead as it was just Hurley and Sun and not a public funeral. Why the need for the special trip for just Hurley and Sun if they know he still alive on the island. Also, didn't the spoilers say someone was going to die in that episode?

Did anyone else see Michael when the chick jumped over the side? He had a hood on and was behind anther guy, but i saw him.

Finally, VII, who is the girl in your sig? She is hot!

Very good episode! So Jin had the flashback and Sun had the flashforward, so the the so called Oceanic 6 spoiler was wrong, the final person is either Arron or Micheal, or even Walt.

Here is some screencaps of Kevin aka Micheal, you can see him when that women jumps over the edge.

I think the door opening, the note, the blood splat on the wall and the jump will be answered next week! :D

It was interesting to say the least, I would imagine the person who leaked the Oceanic 6 spoiler got it wrong purely on the point when he read it was a Sun/Jin episode they assumed it was both of them unless it was and she buried him with the date being pre Oceanic flight but thats doubtful.

Aaron I don't think is one of the 6 nor Michael who has already left once.

The sixth being Michael is one of the theories I suggested. The writers, I believe, already said Aaron wasn't because he technically wasn't a passenger.

We know there are people still on the island because of what we saw and heard in Hurley's flash forward.

Since there's the Oceanic Six, logic dictates that the tombstone would appear since everyone is supposed to think he's dead. The Oceanic Six lied about what happened when the plane crashed (we know this from Jack's testimony, the only way for the six to go back to their lives is to tell the same fabricated story).

Also, I would think that Jin is dead as it was just Hurley and Sun and not a public funeral. Why the need for the special trip for just Hurley and Sun if they know he still alive on the island. Also, didn't the spoilers say someone was going to die in that episode?

Hurley was visiting because Sun had a baby. Also, it wasn't a public funeral, they were visiting his tombstone, so the funeral occurred probably not long after they were rescued. The only way they can see Jin is to visit his tombstone since he's very likely still on the island with the rest of the Others/Oceanic 815 survivors.

I didn't see him, but looking at the screen caps, you can. Good eye!

I think Jin lost his memory like Desmond

and works for the car campny but knows Jin and His Baby

They said she had a boy to jin but it was a girls

i dont understand the scene were he gives the Panda to the women who had the baby...was that Sun.

Walt is working with Ben and others and Micheal is trying to get him back again, ben struck a deal with Micheal.

Actually, it's the preview for NEXT Week that said someone will Die!

The girl in his sig is a Playboy Playmate Of the Year, her name is Carmella DeCesare

I must agree she is HOT! :D

I think you need to watch it again.

At the end, Jin says 'I've only been married two months'. Meaning: His part was a flash back, not a flash forward.

The way I understand it is this.

Sun is part of the Oceanic 6.

People still on the island manage to get off the island after the Oceanic 6 are rescued. However they aren't allowed to come public or slip into there old lives.

Sun doesn't know Jin's alive. Jin doesnt want to go back to Sun or has had his memory erased.

    • Microsoft fixes one of Excel Copilot's most frustrating limitations by Usama Jawad Microsoft began integrating Copilot into Excel a couple of years ago and has been upgrading it with new functionalities since then. While some changes have been controversial, Microsoft is hoping to win over users by allowing them to be more productive via Copilot. To that end, it has now announced a Copilot improvement that may actually be appreciated by people who use it regularly. Excel customers often use the Copilot prompt box to issue instructions to format and customize their data, but it can become quite tiring to keep repeating the same instructions again and again. Microsoft now allows you to define Copilot personalization rules for formatting, naming conventions, formulas, and report styles. These can be accessed via Settings > Personalization, where you can explain your rules in natural language like "Always format currency in USD with no decimals", and just let Copilot take care of the rest. Microsoft is going a step further in this direction by allowing you to set workbook rules too. These rules are stored as a .Rules sheet, and are preserved while the workbook is shared. This fosters collaboration while making sure that standard rules govern the Copilot editing experience across the organization. Other advantages of this capability include pointing it to specific examples, defining dynamic formulas, and referencing an entire sheet and asking Copilot to infer rules based on that. You can leverage this feature by opening Copilot in Excel, clicking on "+", and selecting Create workbook rules. If you have an existing .Rules sheet, you can simply start listing the rules in column A as well. Personalization features are available to all Copilot in Excel users across the web, Mac, and Windows. Meanwhile, workbook rules are currently being previewed for Windows and Mac customers on the Insiders channel. General availability is scheduled after a few weeks, but a concrete date is currently unknown. Overall, the Excel capability is quite similar to ChatGPT's memory features, which allow you to permanently store items in the AI model's context window.
    • Imagine you still haven't discovered Total Commander that is doing all those things for three decades already...
    • This sounds like underneath the nice marketing spin, either someone at Adobe got tired of their lazy devs and asked Microsoft to help them sort at least some of Adobe's ancestral spaghetti code to make it go faster, or Microsoft wanted Adobe's crap to run better on Windows to make it look better when compared to Apple, so they offered to intervene. Either way, GOOD.
    • My favorite file manager for Windows 11 finally gets a long-requested feature by Taras Buria Files is among the best File Explorer alternatives for Windows 10 and 11. This free app is packed with all sorts of features and conveniences, but there is one crucial feature that is still missing—Tree View. Fortunately, the latest update in the Preview channel finally delivers it. With version 4.1.4, which is now available for download in the Preview channel, developers implemented Tree View, a new mode that displays folders in an expandable hierarchy. Windows 11's stock File Explorer always had this feature, but it was nowhere to be found in Files until now. Starting with the latest preview update, you can expand each drive and its nested folders without leaving the current location and then open the folder you need in the main view. To try Tree View in Files, update the app to the latest preview version, then click the small arrow next to a drive to expand its content. The developers say they are rolling out Tree View in Preview first to gather feedback from users and improve the feature before bringing it to all in the stable channel. In addition to Tree View, Files 4.1.14 improves the Windows Fonts folder. You can now preview each font directly in Files with no need to open the built-in font viewer. For now, these two features are only available in the Preview channel. For those using the stable release, developers recently released version 4.1.3, with improvements for the built-in tag system, on-demand folder size calculation, and plenty of various fixes. You can check out the full release notes here. You can download Files from the Microsoft Store (paid version) or its official website (free).
    • Who is paying for this 30x scale-up? Its sounds expensive.
