[Season 7] Smallville

Recommended Posts

Well still one episode of smallville this season is better than superman returns!, god that movie sucked.

I think Superman Returns was a good movie. I liked the way it pulled the superman story from the first two movies. I agree it could have been done a little better, but overall it was good. Smallville hasnt' been good since season one. It started going down hill and seems to be headed that way with every episode to date.

Isnt it the Network that creates the description and promo trailer? I remember Stargate Atlantis had this sort of issue, showing an Ancient warchip and mentioning the replicators but then the episode aired, nothing like that happened.

Yeah they hyped the flying a bit, but that doesnt mean it was a bad episode. The description was probably from the finale, and maybe he did learn or start learning how to fly during the finale version. But they cut it out at the last second since the writers strike ended, and didnt have time to update their description/trailer since it required more work to be done, things to be re-shot, and so on.

To me, smallville gets better and better every season. It is way more adult now than it was in the first 4 seasons where it was more like a high school drama type show, A LOT of freak of the weeks, and pretty much no enemy that clark needed to actually fight. The writers strike messed everything up on a lot of shows, its not the creators fault here.

Now that being said, I hope they come back with a bang and a huge one. I would love to see major battles, more justice league, more martian manhunter, more kara, and way more action. It looks like we are getting there.

Lex is declining FAST. Lex pushing Lionel off the edge will be one of the greatest moments of the show. Evil lex is beginning to emerge even more

Lionel warning of a new and very powerful danger that nobody will listen to him. Darkseid probably, has to do with the bang in space kara and brainiac created

The ONLY description IS "Kara teachs Clark how to Fly". To an extent, that WAS TRUE! Kara did go like "See clark, I showed you how to fly now you turn!" Now that is a 'Grey area' description. I mean, that descript could go either way from the start! Obviously Some (Who expects TOO much) people would expect Clark to actually fly (Forgetting the No-fly rule by the Producers), but people like me SEE it as just Teasing the viewers, and totally remember the No-fly rule and didn't expect him to fly AT ALL! So it DIDN'T surprise me at all that he didn't fly!

NO Spoiler, Trailer, or Description actually worded that "Clark actually flys".. (Those are all high expectation from fans want to see him fly) and if you saw a trailer of CK flying that's 100% Fanmade CW didn't put that out!

If Clarks flys at all this Season Finale, I would be surprised to be Honest, but I guess it's possible that Producers meant he won't fly before the LAST season, but for last season he can fly! So as a Season Finale, him flying at the end MIGHT be somewhat possible.

This episode was meant as a pre-strike Season Finale, so maybe those Flying stuff WAS True, but since it was no longer Finale it will be push back to the New Season Finale - "Arctic.

Yeah, Lex is definitely going to be at his EVILEST Hour next episode!!! Can't wait to see him Murder His OWN Dad

OMG That's EVIL AS HELL!!!

Yeah, they are building up to a Bigger plot that WILL put Clark in grave danger! I have a feeling a Villian will beat Clark Senseless!!!

Well, I think the last episode couple will be fine, but almost all episodes are very... average.

Smallville wasn't made for 8 seasons, it's just too long!

Next season we'll have the first episode explaining this one's finale, and after more and more empty episodes with 2 or 3 important scenes , I mean having an important role in the global story line.

Because of this fact, I often wait to have 5 or 6 episodes, and then watch them one after the other.

IMO, I think that a character as great as Clark Kent deserves a better TV show in terms of quality.

I know other shows where the suspense is present from the first minute of season premiere to the last second of the finale (Heroes, Dexter...).

My opinion isn't very important, but I just wanted to share it with you.

P.S: I joined this forum only for this thread.

Creators are gone!

TV Guide reports what could be Smallville's biggest shocker of the season: creators Al Gough and Miles Millar are departing the show at the end of this season! This is no April Fools joke!

As soon as I read this, I went to one of Smallville's most popular website, KryptonSite, and found the open letter both creators sent to announce their departure. "After much heartache and debate we have decided it is time for us to move on," they say in their letter.

I've been a fan since day 1. I think the show's taken some turns for the worse lately. It had that epic feel in the beginning, but not so much now. I don't know why exactly.

Things I never liked about the show:

1. Kryptonite's sometimes corny effect on humans. Kryptonite gum making Pete stretch. Making the glass maker control glass. Just stuff like that. Unpredictable effects would have been better.

2. Too much use of CGI for daily planet building exterior. I've always hated seeing that shot. Why can't we just see the inside and skip the cheap CGI? Do we always have to go exterior to interior. It's not like anything else looks like the daily planet on the show!

3. Clark's intelligence. Let's face it...if you can move faster than a speeding bullet then you can think that fast too, so why is Clark always surprised by things? If it takes a human 5 seconds to figure out a solution to something, Clark should be able to do that in less than a microsecond. Super-intelligence!

4. The whole Green Arrow thing. I didn't much care for it.

5. Lex + Lana. What was the point in that?

6. Jor-El. He's dead...his essence lives on in the fortress and then possesses people when needed? What happened to it being his memory.

7. My most hated. Why do Kryptonians speak English to each other? They have their own freaking language.

Gold. Hahahaha

Smallville Gains New Show Runners

The CW Network has announced the new showrunners for Smallville's eighth season, following the shock decision by creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar to step down.

The network told Coming Soon: "Al Gough and Miles Millar have been great partners and instrumental in the development and success of Smallville. While we are sad to see them go, we are very excited to announce that executive producers Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson will helm the show next season.

"[They] have been writing for the show for the past six seasons, and as producers for the last four years, they have played an integral role in the ongoing creative evolution of the series."

The announcement follows the unexpected departures of Gough and Millar, which were revealed via an open letter by the pair to fans of the show. They didn't explain specific causes for the exit, but stated: "As the creators of Smallville we look back at seven amazing years. We look back at 152 episodes. We look back knowing that the show will continue into season eight without us. After much heartache and debate we have decided it is time for us to move on."

Spoilers -

Question: Any scoop on the 150th episode of Smallville? ? Todd

Ausiello: It's airing on May 1, it's being directed by Tom Welling, it features the return of James Marsters as Braniac, and, according to exec producer Al Gough, it's another one of those alt-reality romps, only this time "Clark has to look at a world where potentially he never crash-landed on Earth. It's basically a version that could have happened ? and if Brainiac has his way, it will happen."

Question: I really need some good Smallville scoop involving Lois and Clark. C'mon, help me out here. ? Nora

Ausiello: Help is on the way! In the aforementioned 150th episode, we'll get our first glimpse of Clark sporting an iconic Superman look. What does that have to do with Lois, you ask? Well, Ms. Lane's responsible for the wardrobe change!

Question: Will Kristin Kreuk be back for any more episodes this season? And do you have any major news about the season finale? ? Joel

Ausiello: KK will be in some, but not all, of this season's remaining episodes, as she's currently in Thailand shooting Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Regarding the finale, I can tell you that the final scene(s) very much involve Lex finding some important pieces of the Superman puzzle. Hint: The title of the episode is "Arctic."

  • 2 weeks later...

While I wasn't able to watch all of Smallville last night, I did manage to record it to DVR for tonight's viewing.

I did happen to catch the last 10 minutes of it, and can't wait to see what happens.

    • Microsoft brings Planner Agent to all Microsoft 365 Copilot users by Ivan Jenic Image: Microsoft Microsoft has announced that Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot is now generally available to all users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Planner Agent is the latest addition in the string of AI features that Microsoft is implementing across virtually all of its products. The agent lets you manage tasks through natural language prompts directly inside Microsoft 365 Copilot. You can create and update tasks, check priorities, and get insights about current entries without leaving the chat interface. The general availability release comes with a handful of new additions on top of what was available during the initial rollout. A new plan picker lets you search and filter your plans by name, then update task names, statuses, due dates, or priorities through the agent. There's also a goals bucket now, which lets you group tasks under specific goals. This builds on the Goals view, a feature that was introduced as part of the broader Planner refresh that rolled out earlier. Image: Microsoft | Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot All AI-generated plans and tasks are created in draft mode by default, so you can review and approve changes before anything goes through. This is actually a thoughtful safety feature, because trusting AI to handle all your tasks without a human in the loop is usually a recipe for disaster. Having tasks initially saved as drafts is the best possible middle ground. Microsoft also says that not all tasks are executed equally. Simple tasks get processed quickly, while more complex ones, like building a plan from a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, are handed to a more capable model. Microsoft says this approach delivers the best performance, but it could also help with usage management, as you won't have to waste tokens on performing simple tasks. Planner Agent is available now across Teams, Loop, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 apps for anyone on a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription.
    • To be clear I'm anti trump, the bigger point is why review this game at all?
    • Trillion dollar Microsoft has to reduce spending by hurting more people. Good job Microsoft. Good Job Asha.
    • That's a shame. The big Xbox reset when Phil and Sarah left and then Asha came on and brought a new team of executives, and all the layoffs last year and saying that the ABK merger wouldn't result in redundancies I am surprised they are calling for yet another reset and yet more layoffs.
