You know, I hadn't thought of that. But wasn't that in Season 1 when she was still single?

I hope they don't go on and ON with the whole love triangle thing again this season. I just might have to shoot my TV if they do, it got really cheesy during some parts of season 3.

Leoban made several other predictions, they'll find Kobol, it would point the way to Earth, Kara's special destiny

If the producers listen to fans at all, which they say they do season 4 won't have any Battlestar Melrose Place

Leoban made several other predictions, they'll find Kobol, it would point the way to Earth, Kara's special destiny

The Leoban model is so full of crap it's evident that the other humaniod cylons don't include them in the decision making processes; to quote Six from this episode, "we're programmed not to think about the final five" so any previous suggestions by Leoban was just his manipulation at work. Notice on the New Caprica gov't and the Cylon Basestar command centers that the Three, Five, Six, Eight and Cavil models seem to take an active role in governing cyclon actions. Leoban and Simon models are excluded, no where was Leoban to be seen on New Caprica except in a lonely room frakking with with Kara's head. Also, all the models except for Three disregard the cylon hybrid which controls the ship. You see this angle building some more in the preview clip for next week with Three and Centurion cylons confronting Cavil for butchering the raiders. Also, makes you wonder if the Centurion models are the ones that have taken her "out of storage" from last season.

The raider scanning Anders seemed to be a discountinuity from last season, as one of the Cylon humaniods pointed out on New Caprica that the Centurions could not distinguish humans from humaniod cylons; a safeguard to prevent the machine cylons from revolting against their humaniod counter parts. This may be the reason we see the story arch in the preview clip for next week, as Cavil goes to find out how the raiders were capable of identifying Anders as cylon.

Overall, mediocre episode kicking off the season. The opening battle scene was great but the Starbuck and final five cylon angle still have me on the fence about the season. Hope next week's episode answers some of the points I made above.

Perhaps Anders subconsciously used a latent ability and initiated contact with the raider, not the other way around. Perhaps thats why the blurb about lobotomizing the raiders...to prevent the final five from subverting the troops, so to speak. As you said, the Centurions could not distinguish humans from humanoid cylons on their own, but who's to say the humanoid cylons can't make themselves be recognized, perhaps by using some sort of communication or scan of their own?

Well after a half hour so far, I must say the opening space battle was the most amazing space battle I think I've ever witnessed. It was that good.

The opening space battle was pretty awesome, but I don't think that topped Revenge of the Sith's opening space battle.

To be honest, I think whoever it is will feel like a copout. I'm really not sure what the writers can do to solve this.

Ohh ohh ohh I think I know who the final Cylon is gonna be.

I did have a theory that Zack Adama could be a cylon and it's still possible, although I would doubt it since Apollo mentioned that "what if" to Adama in the season premiere, so I doubt they would go in that direction.

If you go on the assumption that Leoban was just trying to cause some **** by saying "Adama is a cylon" to Roslyn earlier in the series then I am pretty sure I can bet who the 5th is, and it would be the least lamest idea...

I came up with this theory because I just bought the season 3 dvds today was popping them in to make sure they disks were error free. I saw a scene and the idea came to me. After I came up with this theory I did some looking on the various Wikis and from the info I can gather a lot of it points to this character.

I'll spoiler it just in case!!!

Tom Zarek.

- He was a terrorist

- To many he is regarded as a hero

- He was/is (i forget) on the Qourum of 12

- Was vice president then became president

- Aided the resistance on new caprica (the other 4 were also involved in the resistance) and also authorized the deathsquad that executed the "traitors" who worked with the cylons on new caprica. This group included many of the final 5.

- When D'Anna Biers keeps killing herself to get a glimpse of the final 5 she sees one and says "You... forgive me... I had no idea."... the cylons sentanced Zarek to the firing squads on new caprica and he helped Roslyn escape death there.

- And most importantly, he wouldn't have been with the rest of the characters when they activated because he wouldn't have been on the Galactica at that time!

- Plus he played one of the main characters on the original series!

If I was in charge of the show... thats the direction I would go!

hmm, i was expecting a more intense season opener episode but i liked it though

Well the opening space battle was pretty intense no? :D

Oh and Mathachew, no the space battle doesn't compare to the one in RotS. But considering that had a budget of millions to do something amazing, I think the BSG battle compares VERY well. Plus, I dunno, it looked much, MUCH more realisitc. BSG always presents space stuff as much more realistic than other Sci-Fi shows, so yeah.

Can't wait for next week's show!

I may be mistaken, but I believe they said the Centurions cannot distinguish between the different versions of each model of Cylon. To explain how they would not recognize Athena when she went in. They didn't say anything about actual Humans. But I'd have to go back and double check to be positive.

Holy frack, the season premier was amazing. The space battle right at the beginning made my tongue dry up because my mouth was open the whole damn time. :woot:

I jumped off my couch when Tight shot Adama in his "hallucination". I actually thought Adama was fracked yet again.

Wow Season 4 is finally here?! Seems like it's been forever since season 3 ended, I was beginning to think the show had been cancelled knowing sci-fi. Can't wait to see it.

I wish Starbuck would have stayed dead even though I knew her character was too important for that to happen. The whole whiny, tough **** drama queen crap was getting on my nerves.

I am not liking the religious cult on Galactica, at all. It is ridiculous - it just seems out of place with the rest of the show.

Not exactly. A major part of the show has been about the gods, God, and all kinds of other religious destinies.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense and fits... The question is how did they hear of this one true God belief? It originated with the Cylons, and they all know it did, so why would they dare believe in such a thing? Then again, there were those people fighting for the Cylons' rights... Idiots...

I have no problems with the religious aspect as it was before this episode. Its just now they have made it ridiculous, I mean a cult of attractive women on Galactica, and the whole Jesus-look-alike thing. Its just odd...

I think that is six standing between the centurions. In the preview, six is seen saying, "Stop lobotomizing the raiders."
