I would ignore everything you hear about starbuck and the final cylon until you see it for yourself. Remember, they have a habbit of deliberately releasing all sorts of FUD just to keep people guessing. They even said that the Katie Sackhoff quit the show so the season 3 finale was more exciting.

I just watched the Pilot last night, and will be starting Season 1 today. Good stuff!

It's a great show. I think you'll enjoy watching it alot. Word of advice: try not to read the posts in this thread because it could really spoil things for you. :p

So I decided to re-watch the 3rd Season to refresh my memory...got to admit the show is top notch, can't wait for Season 4.

Yep, definitely.

I just watched Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Webisodes, Mini-Series and Razor all just last week. I would give BSG 10/10 for content alone. Great series!! I wish Season 4 wasn't the last one :(

As much as I'd love more BSG, I think if season 4 keeps it as good as before, I'll be extremely happy that it began on a high point, ended on a high point and never really changed in the middle.

The same can't be said for most shows and the ones that do tend to end on a bloody cliffhanger!

For the most part having a friend who works for scifi has pretty much sucked...with him continously taunting me with stuff about season 4 he's just been pretty miserable to deal with...however he did fill me in on the pizza promotion that they are doing in NYC/LA...if you have ability to say "i want a frakkin pizza" to someone over the phone with a straight face...and can answer easy scifi trivia you can get yourself a free pizza seemingly...said you just need to be on the lookout for some strange looking BSG posters with a phone number on them (number to the pizza place)...had anyone else heard about this?

also im freaking out being this close to the premiere...is something wrong with me?

I think so. Leoban said "Adama's a cylon" to Roslin, no one seems to notice that Duella is an Adama since she's married to Lee

You know, I hadn't thought of that. But wasn't that in Season 1 when she was still single?

I hope they don't go on and ON with the whole love triangle thing again this season. I just might have to shoot my TV if they do, it got really cheesy during some parts of season 3.

I haven't thought about that either.

It could be since I do believe Leoban is also one who says "It all happened before and it will happen again" so perhaps he knows.

But on that thought it would kinda like who cares. She isn't entirely an interesting character, and it wouldn't really have a big "oh my god" impact like Tigh and Tyrol being cylons.

Though honestly I personally had an expectation since it was first mentioned Adama being a cylon, that it would be Zach Adama, Adama's other son and Starbuck's fiance that died prior to the series start, that would show up at some point as a cylon.

Hahaha, what a friend. I've never heard of that so called "pizza promotion" but I'd call if it's available in my area. And don't worry, nothing is wrong with you. I can't fracking stay still!

10PM will not get here fast enough!!!

Also, SciFi.com has a banner about the episode that says "see it on scifi.com at noon ET".....could they be making it available early for online viewing?

How could the son of a human be a cylon? That doesn't really make a lot of sense unless they swapped the babies or something.

Anyway, I can't wait until tomorrow when I can get the episode (live in the UK so no official premier for me :()

"He That Believeth In Me" was frakking awesome!!

Looks like SciFi is going to be making all future episodes available for viewing at noon ET (at least at the end of this one it said to come back next Friday).

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
    • If I were them, I'm gonna hold out until the prices of these semiconductor parts normalize. $1,049 for a ~5 year old hardware is DoA, more so for gamers. On a deeper note, if Steam Machine is priced like this, we are soo effed up for the next gen Xbox console and PS6. With great AAA titles releasing at the end of the year, this just creates more demand...and more tears for me. Lol.
    • I suspect one reason its hard to justify subsidising is that it's not a locked down device like a traditional console is. In this climate sadly if it was a "good deal" you'd get people hoarding them for anything but gaming. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 with the Ryzen Z2 Extreme is £1300 here ($1720) for some context on how other SteamOS like devices are now priced. I got the older Z1 Extreme model for £300 with a dock, just shows how insane prices have got recently.
