I highly disagree. I thought that while not much action happened, it was very... unsettling to see what was going on in the fleet. I think it was an important episode at least, even if you didn't like it too much.

Got to agree with the comments about last night. It was unsettling to see what was going on, but the episode as a whole didn't really do anything for me.

As a sidenote, I've got a comment/question about the numbering scheme of the Cylons. So far, we have...

1) Cavel

2) Leoben

3) Deanna

4) [the reporter]

5) [the doctor]

6) Gina/Caprica

7) ?

8) Sharon

Why did they leave number seven open as one of the final five? Why not have the actual known Cylons as the first seven? Or are they actually going somewhere with this?

D'Anna is (the reporter), #4 is Simon (the doctor), #5 is Doral ... #7 is the skipped number (Final Five) ... #8 is Boomer/Sharon, #9-12 are Final Five

I had a silly thought as I watched the last episode, Ellen Tigh makes such a convincing aged #6... is it possible she was a #6 when her and Tigh were planted into the Colonial Fleet, and that the human cylons have the ability to age normally? I know they are immortal, but I've never heard it said that they do not age, it could possible they die of natural age and resurrect as their young selves again... (Rachael Six?); since I had already tossed the theory out there that Ellen Tight was a final five in a previous post, this is a twist that makes her a cylon but not a final five.

It's a good idea and I see where you could think that, but I think we'd see more aged ones. So far we've seen every model exactly identical to the rest, even #1 who is an older looking model has no younger versions present in any of the scenes we've seen so far. If they were to introduce such an idea, it would have to have been done much earlier in the series to be plausible and believable.

Well, in the case of Colonel Tigh, of the final five, he must obviously have the ability to age given the long friendship he has endured with Adama. Also, in Razor, when Lt. Shaw is on the old Centurion Basestar, she confronts the prototype hybrid, which is portrayed as an old man - suggesting that the older models, and first hybrid, do age. Whether the significant seven and new hybrids (model #0 by Moore) do is unknown, but keep in mind, we don't know how old the new ones are... they may have just came out of goo bathes before the attack on the colonies.

When I said reporter, I meant the guy from the VERY beginning, doing the report on Galactica and the Adamas. I couldn't remember his and Simon's names, AND of course got their numbers mixed up. Thanks for the correction.

Still, I kind of wonder why they skipped over number 7.

Possibly, he knows cylons better than anyone else, even the final 4/5.

Has anyone noticed that 1-6 are all regular cylons and fully aware of themselves, yet 7-12 were all planted in the fleet without their knowledge? (Excluding the sharon that was on caprica).

Someone posted this on the Sci-Fi Forums, and I think this is the clue on who the final cylon is that Moore told us about...

I am currently rewatching season 3 on dvd, and I just noticed something.

In the ep. "Taking a Break from All Your Worries".

When Baltar is under the drug and is being questioned, he finds himself "in" a resurrection tank surrounded by burnt and disfigured people.

The camera then pans over to the end of the tank where we see a version or representation of the final five.

The one at the very bottom has hair very much like Anders.

The one in the back has hair and clothing very similar to Foster.

The one on the far left is wearing an eyepatch over their right eye exactly like Tigh.

The one in the center is wearing a uniform very much like our now former Chief.

And that leaves the one on the far right, the one that pushes Baltar deep in the water.

This one has long brown hair with a ponytail thing in the back.

Oh! and of course is female.

This could very well mean the final cylon is a woman with brown hair.

Of course she could also simply be a representation of someone, possibly even a man.

Please everyone who reads this take time to respond, I've got to know what everyone thinks of this, even if it may be old news.

Peace.

so either the girl in the back or the girl in the front could be the final cylon,

or it could be this girl the guy is talking about,

Interesting find, I had never noticed the girl with the eye-patch from Baltar's hallucination... though all of Ron Moore's so called "hints" are so vague as to be stretched into any interpretation... I'm tired of guessing and just ready to watch the remaining season. I had peeked around IMDB and noticed Ramo Lampkin should be reappearing soon in upcoming episodes... and any of Baltar's harem should not be discounted either. (bloodied and beaten from their religious ordeal)

All five of those people look female, and yet Tigh, Anders and Chief are male, so that debunks the notion that the last one must be female. And, from those three shots, I see no uniform representing Cheif, nor similar clothing to that of Tori, though I'm basing this purely on those two shots of all five, not on what is shown in the episode.

Whoever the actor is who plays that Leoben (sp) Cylon, needs an Emmy nod for his acting. He is utterly SUPERB. This weeks episode was terrific. I think most people who find things going slow were expecting battles every week, or answers every week or something. But TPTB know they have people on the string, and can string us along right to the very end.

And I'd still like to know what the hell the Hybrid knows about Starbuck that we don't yet. I seriously doubt she'd lead Humanity to its end, at least not on purpose :D

Also, anyone else notice that this weeks episode was what, 4x05 right? And on Scifi.com they have the preview for next weeks episode as 4x08 ?? Huh.

That's because technically, Razor is classified as episodes 401 and 402.

Well, what else are they going to focus on? The whole show has revolved around them finding earth, obviously the final 5 are related to that so it makes sense they'd focus on it.

I know, I'd like to see some cool space battles as well, but lets face it - nobody really remembers any GREAT Sci-fi programs because of a great space battle. Star trek, Stargate, Babylon 5 (great example right there - 5 episodes to build up to a fight that lasts all of 30s lol), they're all liked because of their overall plots and the universe they develop.

So far I'm liking this season more than I liked the first half of season 3, but we all know how ****ing awesome that got!

If it continues along this path (since this is the final season), I'll be more than happy as it'll have ended on a high note, unlike most good Sci-fi.

It felt like they focused way too much time on Roslin and the dying lady. The six kissing the six was just plain dumb and didn't make sense (but hey, this show loves pushing sex, so I can't expect anything else). I'm finding Baltar to be more and more annoying with his endless talking. His near monotone speeches are beginning to get under my skin (throw some fluctuation in your voice darn it!).

Aside from that, things got really tense multiple times, which was great. Nothing being done to Anders for shooting a fellow officer didn't make much sense, but that isn't a big deal. I'm wondering if Felix being shot in the leg like that will end up killing him, or causing him to lose his leg, which in turn makes him bitter to Anders, eventually kill Anders, causing him to resurrect somehow? I doubt it, but it's shaping up to a big revelation of who the final five, er, four are to the rest of the fleet. The five will eventually be revealed, but they just love stating that all will be revealed at the beginning of every single episode... bah. Looking forward to more mediocre entertainment (hey, I'm entertained, so their job is done, and I'm really looking forward to more).

    • OpenAI's new GPT-5.5-Cyber tops Claude Mythos 5 in vulnerability benchmark by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI today announced a major expansion of Daybreak, a cybersecurity initiative designed to help defenders find, validate, and fix software vulnerabilities earlier in the development process. The availability of powerful AI models has definitely changed the cybersecurity landscape by making vulnerability discovery much faster. However, the bigger bottleneck for the industry is now patching those vulnerabilities. Impacted software teams need to validate the discovered issues, understand their impact, develop fixes, test them, and deploy patches. Back in March, OpenAI launched a preview of Codex Security, which uses agentic reasoning with automated validation to discover high-impact issues and actionable fixes specific to the codebase. Since then, it has scanned more than 30 million commits across over 30,000 codebases; more than 70,000 findings were marked as fixed by human reviewers, while over 500,000 findings were automatically determined to be fixed. Now, OpenAI is releasing an updated Codex Security plugin that can run deep scans, review recent code changes, generate security reports, trace attack paths, validate findings, and create codebase-specific patches for human review. It can also triage findings from existing scanners, advisories, bug bounty reports, and ticketing systems. OpenAI says the plugin can export results to vulnerability management systems and integrate with workflows using SARIF files, CodeQL queries, the Codex CLI, and the Codex app. Back in May, OpenAI announced the preview of GPT-5.5-Cyber, a new model built on top of the recently released GPT-5.5, designed for specialized cybersecurity work. Today, OpenAI launched the full version of GPT-5.5-Cyber through a limited release for verified defenders. On CyberGym, GPT-5.5-Cyber scored 85.6%, compared with 81.8% for GPT-5.5 and 83.8% for Claude Mythos 5. It also scored 39.5% on ExploitGym, compared with 25.95% for GPT-5.5, and 69.8% on SEC-bench Pro, compared with 63.1%. OpenAI also announced the new Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, which will allow security vendors and service providers to use GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber in their products and services. Accenture, Akamai, Cisco, Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, IBM, Palo Alto Networks, Proofpoint, SentinelOne, Wiz, Zscaler, and others were listed as initial partners for this program. OpenAI is also launching Patch the Planet with Trail of Bits, HackerOne, Calif, researchers, and maintainers. More than 30 open-source projects have committed to participate, including cURL, Go, Python, Sigstore, and pyca/cryptography.
    • AMD confirms 26.6.2 FSR driver breaks on many Windows PCs by Sayan Sen Earlier today AMD released a major graphics driver update as it brings support for FSR 4.1 to Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs. The new update, version 26.6.2, also brings support for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and more. And while the driver technically supports Windows 10 version 21H2 and newer, the tech giant has confirmed that there is a major issue with the new driver on non-Windows 11 PCs as it fails to launch properly on such systems. The error message says, "The version of AMD Software that you have launched is not compatible with your currently installed AMD graphics driver." Therefore on the surface it looks like a compatibility problem. AMD has also confirmed that the device manager will display the yellow bang or yellow exclamation sign alongside your GPU under the Display adapters dropdown. Here is what the Radeon team's official advisory recommends to affected users: "Users Running Windows 10 and AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 May Encounter Yellow Bang in Device Manager Affecting AMD Radeon RX Series Graphics ... Our Engineers are currently investigating this issue and will provide a fix once it is available. Affected users may revert to AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.1 as a temporary workaround." As such you should revert back to the previous 26.6.1 driver which was released earlier this month. In case you were looking to play Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations you will probably have to wait a while if you want the driver to support those games officially. You can find the support article here on Microsoft's website.
