Seems just about everything in the US has about 20 episodes per season these days, so I'd guess it'd be the same here.

Not sure why there was no episode this week, there isn't even any Doctor Who this week :(

Dammit.

No Lost, no Battlestar and now no Doctor Who.

They are like the only 3 shows I watch these days, what a cruel world.

There are 20 episodes total but they have split it up to 10 and 10. I have read that the last 10 will air in late 2008, early 2009. We only have three episodes left of the first 10-show segment.

That would explain why I had only seen numbering up to 10 in the series and wondered where the others were.

I was worried there was going to be less episodes for the final season, kinda like lost has done with less per season now.

But I don't mind that, as long as these last few and then last 10 finish the show well. :D

So I'm going to assume that they everyone will find out the identities of the 4 hiding with the fleet by the end of these few episodes before the brake, at least I hope they do.

Though in a perfect world we would finally find out the last one too so they can get a move on to earth too.

I expect some epic space battles by the end of the show too. :D

Hit YouTube and check out the preview for Battlestar Sine Qua Non...the Canadian version of the preview is 90 seconds long instead of the 30 we got here in the States, and it's completely different from the one that aired here.

This week's episode [sine Qua Non] had some really powerful scenes in the last couple of segments... Some huge changes are abound. Don't read the following if you don't want to spoil the episode:

Lee Adama is now... well, President Adama.

Admiral Adama is no more; for now at least. We're left with good old Husker.

Admiral Tigh now commands the fleet.

I'm sure there's more, but those are the big points. Also, if you download Battlestar instead of watching it on TV, you can grab it now. Episodes 408 through 410 [up until the mid-season break] will air on SkyOne in the UK on Tuesdays before we get it here in NA on Fridays. That is, if you want to get it a couple days in advance, which I know I sure did. :D

The Lee adama thing really seemed too predictable, but in a way that was the point Lampkin was making, but they screwed this up by having the scene where Lampkin makes the "discovery" of who would be best, that spoiled it for me, for a smart guy like him who has already stated how Lee gets what he wants then surly he would have known from that start what Lee was really after. If Lee has been present at the theatrics then it would have had merit but he wasent.

So the final 5 "can" make babies...

Sol dident seem anywhere near as strong as Tory when he was fighting Adama

At least Athena is still in the brig, most people that do anything wrong in the show just get a slap on the wrist and a few harsh words from the old man.

We never got to see anything from the basestar which jumped away so my guess it there's going to be a cliffhanger where it returns then the next episode wont conclude the cliffhanger but will follow what happened after they jumped away then join up with the cliffhanger.

saul has not accepted that he is a cylin whereas tori did

That was my first thought.

He's also a lot older. Plus I doubt he ever wanted to hurt Adama, either.

Or maybe he's the last cylon >_>

I would love for Adama to be the last one, I don't know why, but I love his character so much, that it would be great if it was him and he leads everyone to earth.

But I know its not going to happen, lol.

^ Yeah, about that... The cat in the bag, I mean.

Lampkin was 'figuring' on the whiteboard, and came up with his name, and then grabbed his stuff and told the cat "Come on, let's go," or something like that. Then when he encountered Lee in the hallway and he opened the bag, Lee commented something like... "He's been dead for weeks!"

...What exactly happened there?

Basically, Lampkin went a little bit insane because the only thing he had left of his family WAS that cat and someone killed it just to spite him.. In his mind, it was still alive because he couldn't handle it.

He basically thought that humanity didn't DESERVE a good leader because he felt so bitter.

OMG, Laura Roslin is the 5th Cyclon. Honestly, I saw it coming. I didn't see Adama stepping down, and Lee Adama becoming president, although interim. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out with the final five.

Where in the world are you getting that from?

Maybe I missed a giant chunk of the episode where that was revealed? :p

Source?

Watch the episode that was on tonight. The Roslin part is in the preview for next week.

Indeed

British TV for you, never like to stick previews on the end, lol.

Though surely they wouldn't give away what they have been hiding for so long in a preview for next week?

I just hope, and would take a guess it was simple editing and is in fact someone else, she might not be alone in that room with 3, for all we know she could be talking to sanders who we know is on the ship with them.

Which is why I am guessing it isn't Rosilin and is in fact editing, there is too many possibilities, and I would hate them forever for giving it away in a promo.

It's a trap! (Star Wars Quote FTW! :p)

Can someone clear up how the doctor knew that the Six they have in the brig is pregnant when it was the dead Six he was examining? When one cylon gets pregnant they all do?? This can't be right - boomer had a child too.

The docter says, and I quote

"I have some other news, I was running some tests on your Cylon prisoner, Guess what I found"

And he wasn't examining the Six that got shot, he was trying to save her life.

He just happen to run tests on the other one at the time.

    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
    • If I were them, I'm gonna hold out until the prices of these semiconductor parts normalize. $1,049 for a ~5 year old hardware is DoA, more so for gamers. On a deeper note, if Steam Machine is priced like this, we are soo effed up for the next gen Xbox console and PS6. With great AAA titles releasing at the end of the year, this just creates more demand...and more tears for me. Lol.
