Official LOTRO thread

Recommended Posts

So I read that people who use to play LOTRO can come back this weekend and play free. How do I do this? I went to my account managment screen, and I see nothing about free play. All I see is to sign up for billing cycles.

Any idea how I can get back in on this "free" weekend, because I'm not seeing this option.

So hows everyone enjoying Moria? It's about 10 times better than i ever imagined. The design and scale is just immense!

I'm still topside enjoying the new zone, should hit 51 tonight or tomorrow, then heading in to the darkness. I'm also very pleased so far, Turbine really knows how to polish an RPG.

Yeah my friend just went to Conan. I might try getting on your server again bman but I don't plan to be as hardcore with it since I haven't even reached high levels with my main char on Landroval.

There's a point where you think enough is enough and get going on doing one thing better rather than five things at once eh?

Any of you use xfire? Easier to coordinate that way/

yea I am bmangamer on Xfire. http://www.xfire.com/profile/bmangamer/

I am not that hardcore of a player anymore either, never was. I am only level 21 or something, main char. I haven't played for a few months, wants to start playing more so if you actually got on my server it would be nice, but are you on NA servers?

Anyone happen to be on Windolfa(sp?) if so be sure and look me up - here are my toons:

Allegretto 51 Captain

Makali 50 Lore-master

Emeryl 57 Hunter

Celess 47 Burglar

Ghalian 11 Rune-Keeper

Feel free to send a tell I'm usually on most evening from 8pm cst to 11pm cst or so.

xPsych0x - My xfire (the 0 is the number, not the letter)

I'm happy to roll a new char on another server if we can all meet on one and start a char together?

My current server is Snowbourn.

Is there any way for us in the EU to play with you guys in the US?

stupid tnt lord of the rings marathon got me in the mood to finally play the game again. so i just put in for a character transfer to brandywine (supposedly the most populated server) so i can see people playing the game again

I might transfer to that as well, who knows.

I sure wish I had the money to re-sub to LoTRo again. I really miss playing it, even though none of my toons have ever gotten above level 15 yet lol. It's just a really fun PvE game all around. Sigh.

I cant afford it atm either but i just went and bought a 60 day gametime card from ebay for ?8($11) that way the cash is upfront and i have 2 months to play, if i cant afford it in 2 months then i will wait till i have ?8 to use on LOTRO again and buy another card. All it is is 1 less takeaway a month and im set.

I just bought Moria as well, i quit the game at level 39 because i got bored of it, i recently bought gametime and ive reached level 49 in a week im really enjoying playing again and i cant wait to get to Moria.

Glad I don't have to add money to LOTRO when I want to play, good ol Lifetime membership lol

I also wish there was not 50 other games out, and 20 new games a day.

I only have 1 char, at like 21 or something, I really want to catch up with all the books, and hit level 50. But arrrrg, no one really plays, or at least not when I can.

Just ordered this today, been playing the trial version for a day or 2 and made it to level 15 as a Rune Keeper, unfortunately I signed up for the US trial by accident :(, so gotta start it all over again when my box arrives, think im gonna roll a Minstrel.

Anyone on the EU servers that can recommend which server I should play on, I dont wanna miss out on all the original content (gief pugs) as I always use low level dungeons in MMO's to truly learn how to heal with my character (cant really be done solo and its usually too late at max level). I would class my self as semi-casual in that I usually play games everyday for a good few hours but im not the sort to stay up till ungodly hours of the morning raiding.

Any reccomendations from EU people would be great :)

Thanks in advance.

    • Ninja Theory was great until Microsoft acquired them. They let them spend a decade on two games, with a third on the way, that explore mental health and were OK interactive experiences. Sony appears to be able to choose better IPs to develop, particularly single player. I'm probably going to buy a PS5 just for Wolverine and God of War Laufey (which reminds me of Heavenly Sword when Ninja Theory was with Sony making games).
    • Good riddance to a terrible studio. They've done nothing but over promise features and fall flat with the releases they've put out.
    • hey buddy, i don't appreciate the attitude. Can't wait to see the results.
