PS3 misconceptions and spin

Recommended Posts

Haze is like Assassin's Creed, a badly kept secret exclusive. It'll come out on the 360 after the PS3.

Speculation, not fact (N)

The fact right now is it is a PS3 exclusive.

I think it's the exclusives he was referring to, meaning a reason to purchase one over the other. From that list that would be R&C (which is already out), Uncharted, and Singstar (although I don't know how much of a system seller that'll be).

True - but it's certainly not crawling further into the deep hole!

lol :D

Uhhh that image should be for you mate :p

I go by what the developers say.

Haze PC and 360 drop off the map

Ubisoft confirms that only the PS3 version of futuristic FPS is currently in development, no plans to bring it to any other platforms.

Sony have dug themselves a hole, and arn't getting out of it any time soon.. The PS3 is a horrific failure - and with the wii and 360 both being easily moddable, the die-hard sony fanboys are turning their cheek and goin with the 360/wii bundle over the overpriced flaky gamed PS3.

Sony needs to make more exclusives that people want to play.. MGS, Gran Turismo 5, Ratchet and clank future are about all they have going for them right now.. Motorstorm is an OK title, Heavenly sword you can rent and beat in a weekend... Truly disappointed in this system a year after launch..

Their hardware design is terrible, and its truly showing... 360 is a far superior machine although the design isn't the best - software and support are top knotch from microsoft... no one can argue that.

So I'm still a little confused: It's far superior, but the hardware testing and build quality was side stepped?

Why do that? Again, I don't see where people are projecting this "massive failure" ... slow, but not dead... and certainly not out of it yet.

The prediction comes from logic. The PS3 is more expensive than the competition, has less exclusives out or scheduled to come out than the competition, and looks worse on virtually all of the cross-platform games. That's not looking too rosy. Unless there's massive change somewhere it doesn't seem like a winner.

You mention the build quality, which I agree is a problem. So what happened? They extended the warranty to 3 years to give owners peace of mind. They've isolated the problem and assured us that the new consoles will come out fixed. Is it true? I'm not sure, but the market seems to be pretty OK with it.

don't know why i keep doing this because the other people never acknowledge it and still jump down my throat anyway, but even as someone who'd like to legally wed his 360 i must say the PS3 isn't dead, nor do i want it to be. i'll never get one but that's me. it's besides the point. i think we should seriously make a concerted effort to stop the bickering and concentrate on personal insults. no, just kidding! :cat:

While I completely understand where you are coming from... you are forgetting one key thing:

One does not need to be the winner to be successful.

The Playstation 3 as a product available to the consumer has been out in the wild for just under a year now (and even less in other parts of the world). Although it may not be the identical route taken by Microsoft... or Nintendo... it is a route that can easily grow with due time and correctly placed moves. However, I do believe we ought to give it a go 'round until it's two year anniversary on the market before making any rash assumptions.

Fair enough. But we still get to snicker at bonehead moves ;) (although Sony hasn't had a big one in a while)

hmmm need to consult the farmer's almanac re: these dustbowl anecdotal hoodwinks. must also be something in there about the prospects for certain consumer products. ok, i didn't say that, you didn't see this here...

you sure came back with a vengeance, having the last word and all.

anyway, before i clock out, i seriously think it's bad for all of us that anything good anyone says here gets ignored while the bait is pounced upon.

walks away indignantly.

turns away lovingly

"hey your console @&^%!"

    • Yup, broke my comp… again. its times like this when I regret AMD. This just never happens on NV.
    • Huh? You're delusional calling the Steam Deck dead. It is so successful that it has sold out multiple times. Even after the price hike this year it sold out again with 24 hours of being back in stock. The demand is real and has not died down even after four years.
