PS3 misconceptions and spin

I have a question for people who know more about this.

Lets forget about how hard it is to develop for and how much money it takes to develop for the ps3.

Lets say you have all the time and money, will the ps3 have better graphics?

In other words does it have the capability or potential to have better graphics then the 360?

I'm considering buying one and I'm not concerned with whether the majority of games look better

on the 360, all I want to know is that a few of the ps3 games are gonna look really good, atleats equal to or better

to xbox 360 games.

If you're only worried about PS3 games then whay does it matter how they look? So far all the shared releases look better on the 360. The 360 exclusives look great and the PS3 exclusives will look great.

dont diss heavely sword the game was mint, the same could be said about halo 3 which is the 360s flagship title and i completed that in 4 hours. Storyline of heavenly sword was awesome aswell.

also do you even own a ps3 or have these games, or are you going about making this judgement reading some lame reviews from people who are getting paid to write them. Play the games yourself and make the judgement, i was skeptic, very skeptic until i got the PS3 and the games, im very satisfied now.

How can you possibly complete Halo 3 in 4 hours? It is at least 6 hours of gametime. I played through on normal, without dying, and it took me 6.5 hours to complete. Unless you just ran past everything and somehow didn't die, I don't think you complete it in less than 5 hours even on easy. And if you want to bring up Halo 3... lets bring up Multiplayer... where is the MP on Heavenly sword? A game with no MP should have more than 6 hours of gameplay.

How many of those are highly anticipated exclusives? Not even close to half of them. But I was wrong about 8.0, but still only one has hit above 9.0.

Yes i completed it in 4 hours, no it was not as long as i had expected, and finally i was only speaking on the STORYLINE, not multiplayer. Easy 4 hours, Co-op/easy your looking at around 2 n half/3 ish. All depends on how good you are at playing it.

I dont really see a rule book anywhere which states wheather games which dont have MP have to have more the 6 hours of gameplay. 6 hours of gameplay or not the game still kicked azz.

PS3 is in its early stages, in the UK its only been out since march, so what thats like 8 months. Xbox360 didnt have many if not any games over 9 at this time, i maybe wrong, obviously there are games like oblivion and pgr3 but i cant remember the exact release dates.

As a media centre i find it better than the 360, streaming from TVersity is better on the PS3 than it is on the 360. PS3 can stream and forward videos at 1.5x 360 cant, 360 cant seek through music when playing (fair enough these are minors and can be done with a FW update but 360 still lacks these vital features to become a full media centre).

Like i said before ratings dont really mean **** to me. The reviewers may have different taste as to what i have. I certainly will not be buying games based on reviews. At this point of time i feel as if the PS3 is better value for money, however if a 360 came out with a built in HD-DVD drive and wireless for under ?300 then i would be saying the same for that.

The PS3 flagship titles are not out yet, when they are we will see!

Thats sony's mistake, marketing the PS3 as a media center and not a console. The 360 is a console, not a media center. So those features you mentioned were really just icing on the cake. The core of both these systems is supposed to be the games, not the add ons.

Are you referring to the duplication of data on the BD's?

That's been known for quite some time.

Just do a looksie on your discs using a file viewer and you'll find that on a ton of game they aren't really using the space, they're just duplicating data to make up for bad burns and speed issues.

id say quite a few members have the same setup, including me ;) but peoples bias does tend to come through. Both 360 and PS3 are great machines, i just think after getting the PS3 that the 360 is lacking in a few departments.

Actually, yes. Its there for those who want to use it. It is in no way a selling point for the 360. Do you ever see any advertisements based on the media portion of the 360? Most advertisements are either games or just the console's logo that says, "Jump In".

OK, so this is what we have so far. The 360 people resort to saying the RROD has been fixed and will be phased in shortly(even though the console shouldnt have had the fault in the first place and lots of people are on their 4th and 5th consoles), that this developer doesnt count (because hes ****ed off that Sony has the money to make the concept he was working on with his new company better than he can ever dream of), or the simple "I love my 360" (with no backup).

1. the PS2 still going seven years later...well sony is cranking them up coz they're much much cheaper to make now. sure they sell tons but most of it is for re-export i suspect. at least in the case of Japan, 90% of those units go to China, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

2. RROD...this is always a classic. it also makes the 360 look better, for no matter how many times she dies on us, we keep coming back for more!

I own a 360 i couldnt care less about the advertisements, and no microsoft would not put media centre there for the hell of it, what i find more amusing is to use it you need a MCE PC, more money to MS. Which is why the PS3 works out as a better value for money console. It may not have a great games library with very few decent games out but the forcast looks good.

It is PS3 news that answers questions that have been asked repeatedly on this forum and its from someone that should be in a position of knowledge.

I go where the games go.

I love role playing games / Japanese rpg's / action-adventure rpg's and the xbox360 does not have enough title to consider it. I already own oblivion, Jade Empire, KOTR I/II for pc soe console version of these don't interest me.

Since MS tends to focus on FPS, Sports, and Action as the primary focus I have no interest in xbox360. With exception of very few games that don't have PC version, it's not enough to get me to buy the system.

Sony historically has a ton of these games and that is why I went with the PS3. If you look at my console game collection 190+ games various systems, it's very clear what system's I chose in and why.

With Nero Media Home from Nero Digital Express 5 I can stream / transcode just about any video, picture and audio from my pc (no matter what video format it's on the pc) to my PS3 and it also acts as a great DVD upscale video player.

If you have media in the format that ps3 can natively play you can stream from a pc, just using Windows Media Player 11.

actually, to run the media part of the xbox on ur pc, you dont need MC XP, you just need XP sp2. Have the newest media player, and zune.exe software, and it will work.

i mentioned TVersity in my previous posts, now the 360 can stream from TVersity to however the PS3 just handles it much better than the 360, i always get errors when streaming to 360 where the PS3 plays the same file fine.

yeah i use it in conjunction with TVersity on the 360, however when streaming videos they can only be WMV and sometimes certain mp4 formats. But it was the "media centre" part i was referring to, to actually use that feature you need a MCE pc

I may be mistaken since I use Vista (which has MCE) but can't you just go to Music or Movies on the 360 without starting the Media Center and stream the media from a PC? Maybe you need Windows Media Player?
