New version of Gmail released

Yeah they are like doubling it now to compete with Live and Yahoo, never a bad thing :D

I don't care how much space they offer, Gmail will always be better than Live and Yahoo :p

Too bad, I can only get the new Gmail when I set my language to "English (US)". Haven't tested it on other languages yet however.

I prefer working in Dutch and hope the translation team at Google will bring us some translations for this new version. :)

Another question. I did have IMAP as an option. I didnt use it. And now its gone again :( All I can do is enable POP :( I wanted to set up mail in Leopard to use it but now I can't... any idea if there are any tweaks I can do to get it back?!

Nevermind. Seems its enabled as default now for everyone. I just setup Mail.app using the instructions from Google and its pulling my mail down as I write this.

Question: I've been using POP for a long time with my MacBook and have a ton of e-mails saved. It looks like I can't just change it to IMAP, I have to create a new account in Mail. Will I lose all of my saved e-mails on my MacBook or do I have to have 2 e-mail accounts?

Yes. I would disable it (and upgrade to Leopard :) )

I have "73H 1337" IMAP, but I don't see and GUI changes. BTW, the IMAP works great.

same here... changes are subtle... not enough to warrant the "gmail 2.0" some people are talking about though...

I need to see some major updates/changes to maybe even call it 1.5.

Got the update two days ago, but I really didn't notice too much of a difference. Seemed a bit zippier, now that I think of it, so that's always a good thing.

Hmm, I apparently have the "Newer Version" as I have an option to revert to the "Older Version." Only problem is, both versions are exactly the same as far as I can tell.

Well the only real difference is the contact screen and the fact that the inbox prefetches your messages so when you click they instantly load.
