Chuck

The season premiere is titled "Chuck vs. the Pink Slip," and Zachary Levi will be sporting a full beard, an old t-shirt, a baseball cap, and sunglasses for at least part of the episode. Despite rumors that Sarah would be working at a Subway this season, the Orange Orange set was still in use for the premiere.

We'll still be seeing the Buy More this season, but it won't be the same antics-driven shop as before. Tony Hale's character, Emmett Milbarge, will be running the store with an iron fist, and keeping a video of Joseph Stalin reviewing the troops at the Red Square running on the screens. His office will feature a giant executive chair and a "Buy-Moria" flag, and the newly demoted Big Mike is still stuck on the Buy More floor.

As for the rest of the season, Casey and Sarah will be functioning as Chuck's "senseis," helping him master his new abilities, and we will delve more into the backgrounds of the spies and their twisty backstories. And Casey, who will still be around the Buy More crew, may be getting a love interest.

Captain Double-0 Awesome will be taking his turn at the spy game in the new season. Ryan McPartlin, who plays Awesome, says that Chuck and the team will occasionally call on Awesome in a pinch, and his clothes will occasionally come off for reasons utterly non-gratuitous reasons, absolutely essential to the show's plot. As for Chuck's new, "I know kung fu" abilities, McPartlin says it won't be all sunshine and scissor kicks:

Chuck used to be protected from the world, now the world has to be protected from Chuck.

Also, despite him appearing to have been really, really killed off in last season's finale, we may not have seen the last of plucky Bryce Larkin. [E! Online]

It?s a bird, it?s a plane, it?s the most awesome casting news ever: Erstwhile Superman Brandon Routh is joining Chuck for a multi-episode arc, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Who?s he playing and what impact will it have on Chuck and Sarah? Keep reading and find out!

Routh?s character, Shaw, is a mysterious new spy who takes control as the new leader of Operation Bartwoski, becoming a mentor to Chuck and a rival in his affections for Sarah. He first appears in this season?s fourth episode.

Bottom line: Who better to teach Chuck how to use his powers that the Man of Steel himself?!

Memo to NBC: Please don?t make us wait until March for Chuck!

When the new season picks up, it's right after the end of the previous season, so Chuck is still new to his abilities. And Morgan is in Hawaii working on becoming a hibachi chef, so the Buy More is firmly in the grip of Emmett, and things aren't going that well without Morgan and Chuck. [Sci Fi Wire]

Jeffster will definitely perform again in season three. And maybe they'll do more of an 80s hair metal thing. [E! Online]

Man it can't come soon enough.. BTW says Chuck will be replacing Heroes at the 8pm time slot in March, so I take it that's Heroes little Spring hiatus.. Which thankfully will give us something to watch because you all know usually during the spring we are watching stupid reruns on everything

Exclusive: 'Smallville' heroine Kristin Kreuk joins 'Chuck'

If I didn?t know better I?d say Chuck?s got a thing for Superman.

On the heels of Brandon Routh?s casting as a love interest for Sarah comes word that Smallville vet Kristin Kreuk is joining Chuck for multiple episodes as Hannah, a girl Chuck meets on a flight to Paris. ?Chuck and Hannah definitely have feelings for each other,? teases an insider.

Laid off from her glamorous publishing job, Hannah ends up working at the Buy More. (I?m sure that won?t prove distracting to the horny nerd herders at all!)

This marks Kreuk?s first major TV gig since leaving Smallville.

Let me take this opportunity to once again plead with NBC to move up Chuck?s premiere date. Making us wait until March would be cruel, unusual, and punishing. Please. I beg you. I?ll even give that horrible show about nurses another shot.

Nice!

Angie Harmon to guest star on Chuck

Ever since Women's Murder Club ended last year -- after a way too short run, in my opinion -- I've been looking for appearances by Angie Harmon. Her own series would be great, but if not, I'll settle for whatever I can get. She's just signed to guest star in episode four of the upcoming season of Chuck.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Harmon will play a character named Sydney, a spy for the Ring who's looking to kill Ryan McPartlin's Captain Awesome alter ego.

Her character of Lindsay Boxer on Women's Murder Club was a badass detective who could beat the heck out of a perp while ordering pizza on her cell phone. I've been intermittent with my Chuck viewing, but I'll definitely be checking out this episode and hoping to see more of Harmon.

Other recent additions to the NBC show include Smallville's Kristin Kreuk and Superman's Brandon Routh. Any thoughts on this latest addition? And wouldn't you like to see Harmon in her own series again?

Also, there's a casting call for episode 3x06, "Chuck Vs. The Nacho Sampler," in which we meet Manoosh Depak, an East Indian in his 20s who's a computer genius. [ChuckTV]

Chuck to air....very soon!?!

It?s good news (for me), bad news (for NBC): Since its numbers are down and its new and returning shows are mainly DOA (Southland was axed before new episodes even aired!), Chuck?s third season might get to premiere sooner than the March date that?s been bandied about thus far.

?How much sooner? you ask?

As early as late October, my moles tell me. And while it remains unclear whether the little show that could (and has and shall again) would return to its Monday timeslot or find itself a new perch, NBC insiders who?ve seen the first four episodes are calling this season the best yet.
