Cloverfield (2008)

Recommended Posts

The documentary film style (shakey cam) is all well and good, but it was TOO shakey. All cams have stabilizers now, and the film just made me feel sick :(

Also - I din't think the monster did reach the helicoptor. I felt that the debris from the explosion and the moster lunging up knocked it!

Loved the movie. Totally new idea. Would not really want to see it done again though. LOL. I would like to see an addition like direct to video or something online that gives MORE of the story line. When do they kill it. What was the military doing to help the citizens and destroy the monster (more than we saw in the movie).

I did not get sick in the movie theater but I know it was shaky and sat in one of the back rows.

The Japanese oil company TAGRUATO drops a satellite (Chimpanz III) into the ocean as part

of viral marketing (shown at the end of the movie when Rob and Beth were on the ferris wheel).

TAGRUATO works with SLUSHO (a slush company), as the main ingredient for SLUSHO is found

at the satellite dropzone (deep ocean). While searching for satellite and ingredients, they

woke Cloverfield (the monster).

What the hell are they putting in slushies? Something to make your stomach explode? What is the ingredient he was searching for at the ocean floor?

Hearing the origin of "cloverfield" name it really is cool.

I did wonder how a giant monster could just grab one guy and toss him 30-40 feet and not tear him apart. This thing was HUGE.

Another thing people are complaining about is that I think the monster was just waiting for them. Since he followed the copter to the crash site. And was looking for movement.

In the end I guess the army killed all the parasites but were having trouble with the main monster.

im pretty sure that it cud reached it, the monster was huge and its arms where like the same lenght as its body or longer! I just think if it got a proper swipe of the heli it wuda been torn apart!

I just got round to seeing it. Absolutely phenomenal. I can't wait to see this on a 40"+ LCD in HD with true surround sound and the lights down. I loved The Blair Witch Project and this is also fan-bloody-tastic. Instantly one of my favorites.

I enjoyed this movie, not the greatest movie ever, but it didn't suck at all

If they make a sequel to this... i hope they don't film it the same way

This movie was good, but if they did the same thing it'd be boring... unless it was filmed from a military perspective... that would be cool

I like how many reviews popped up the day of it releasing on torrents in a good quality LOL

I enjoyed it.. but I still have mixed feelings about the ending... as in, where was it?

I give this movie 8.5/10

Good action, good movie overall, but it's not a movie, without a good ending.

Somebody tell me this, is it known rather the girl that got on the first helicopter survived or what?

Some people think Lilly did survive, others think that the debris you see right after Rob, Beth and Hud take off in the helicopter was the helicopter where Lily was in.

Well awesome movie for a start probably will easily go into my all time list for originality, the idea that someone lugs a camera around is very weird but with the age of youtube and internet sharing I can see why like for example when they are all around the statue of liberty's head taking pictures why would you do that? anyway besides that it was freakin awesome!

4/5

I liked it and will definitely buy the blu ray when it comes out. I hear they are already talks about making the second one but from a different person's point of view (from the dude with the other camera on the bridge before it collapses).

Yeah I hope we get to see what exactly happened to the creature, tho little spider things were awesome tho reminded me of antlions from HL2 :p

    • Not such a great deal, Ultimate, which gives you full 5080 features is $181.99 CAD per month, that's $2183.88 per year, I can buy the 5080 for $1809.99 CAD, then it goes up to $279.99 per month after the first billing cycle. Typical cloud rental, costs more than buying the hardware.

    • Get used to this, with AI tooling now uncovering new vulns and getting them exploitable far faster than has ever been possible before software is going to need to be updated far more frequently. Back in the day it may take reseachers weeks or months to do what AI can now do in hours. Once its a threat is discovered it's weaponsized far more quickly, meaning you simply can't be waiting 2, 3, 4 weeks to deploy a patch, it needs to be patched immediately. Going to be interesting handling this in the enterprise space where traditionally patching has been steady, but very staged (and rightly so up until now), that is going to have to change.
    • You don't need to "close all browser sessions constantly" or wait for updates to install. The updates download in the background while you use the browser, without interrupting you, they install automatically the next time you launch the app. And they install very fast (depending on your storage speeds, of course), you have to wait at most 2-3 extra seconds, if any. Seems like you haven't used Edge in a loooooooong time...
