"You are in a clearing, with a forest surrounding you on the west

and south.

There is a pile of leaves on the ground."

This is the furthest I've gotten to. I already got the jewel encrusted egg from the tree...am I suppose to look for a witch or something to give it to?

ahh memories :D

Theres a securely fastened grating underneath those leaves.

I still have a copy of the "Nemesis" version, fancy graphics and all from win95. I like these plain Jane ones better, might just be

my advanced state of geezitude :p

Very good. Now you can go to the second grade.

here is how you get the leaflet ;)

Welcome to Zork. This version created 11-MAR-91 (PHP mod 25-OCT-2001)

There are 34 users playing Zork.

You are in an open field west of a big white house with a boarded

front door.

There is a small mailbox here.

> open mailbox

Opening the mailbox reveals:

A leaflet.

> get leaflet

Taken.

> read leaflet

Welcome to Zork!

Dungeon is a game of adventure, danger, and low cunning. In it

you will explore some of the most amazing territory ever seen by mortal

man. Hardened adventurers have run screaming from the terrors contained

within.

In Dungeon, the intrepid explorer delves into the forgotten secrets

of a lost labyrinth deep in the bowels of the earth, searching for

vast treasures long hidden from prying eyes, treasures guarded by

fearsome monsters and diabolical traps!

No DECsystem should be without one!

Dungeon was created at the Programming Technology Division of the MIT

Laboratory for Computer Science by Tim Anderson, Marc Blank, Bruce

Daniels, and Dave Lebling. It was inspired by the Adventure game of

Crowther and Woods, and the Dungeons and Dragons game of Gygax

and Arneson. The original version was written in MDL (alias MUDDLE).

The current version was translated from MDL into FORTRAN IV by

a somewhat paranoid DEC engineer who prefers to remain anonymous,

and was later translated to C.

On-line information may be obtained with the commands HELP and INFO.

Thanks Bud :)

You are on a small beach on the continuation of the Frigid River

past the falls. The beach is narrow due to the presence of the white

cliffs. The river canyon opens here, and sunlight shines in from

above. A rainbow crosses over the falls to the west, and a narrow path

continues to the southeast.

I'm bailing, but will definitely be back, forgot how addictive these are :p

Oh and FRUSTRATING  I feel yah Spyder!

Forgot to create a user/pass and had to start over.

real easy too

ie: "LOGIN blaise neobyte" w/o quotes and with another name :p

it will ask if you want to create a new account, type: y press return

and you can now save the game by typing: save

zork was an incredible game. I think it was released around 82 or so. I played it on an old apple for the first time. Incredibly tough too, I remember never being able to get the key from the unicorn.

dont forget to turn your lantern off when not using it.

also, let the egg get stolen by someone better trained at opening such treasures. Then take it back.
