Im also sorely tempted to go down, it wasnt me who picked it up - but my next couple of weeks Im going to be away from home, so it's pointless me getting it till after I come back.

Unless I take my PS3 with me, but I know where Im going, there's no HDTV, and I aint playing it on a standard def box.

So just so everyone knows who wants to get this game early.

I can confirm that ASDA, Morrisons and the Metro Centre have broken the street date.

Rockstar start your lawyers.

Asda's in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex haven't broken the date.

Yesterday I was told I can collect a copy at Tesco today, I went in and got my hands on one, only for management to tell me they couldn't sell me it :|

That has to suck ><

Tempted to hit ASDA tomorrow too >< Must try and remember that I dont even have the CASH to buy it atm, damn man, my credit card cant take it.

Instead of going there, ring the store and ask if they have STOCK, not if they have it on sale. If they say yes, ask if they can hold a copy for you to collect within that day. :)

As tempted as I am to go and (try to) get it tomorrow, I'm just going to wait it out. An extra two days isn't going to hurt, seeing as I'll be getting a nice metal box and other extras. That and I've got an exam on Monday, so getting the game tomorrow wouldn't be the smartest idea. ;)

Well,

Was over at a friends house, who has the Playstation 3 version and downloaded the Xbox 360 Version.

So we decided to compare the games, graphical wise. He has two 360's, an older one with a Hitachi drive i believe

and a newer one ( With the new Hardware inside ) and a BenQ drive.

First we played the Playstation 3 version for a few hours, looked great and all. So we decided to load up the 360 version on the Hitachi Box. I did notice increased texture popping, the warmer colors. The Anti-Aliasing IGN talked about i didn't notice whatsoever, possibly because i was paying attention to the game itself. The games looked identical, even though the 360 texture did have a more crisp look to 'em, but that could be in my head.

We loaded it up on the BenQ version and everything looked the same, except one thing, the texture popping was almost gone. It was pretty much on par with the Playstation 3 version. I'm guessing It's due to the more stable drive and stable load. ( Could also be a lucky game session where no texture popping occurred, can't say. )

I also noticed the Xbox 360 version had more defined HDR Lightning, which i didn't really notice in the Playstation 3 version, it seemed way more graduate on the Xbox 360 version.

But the PS3's 'colder' colors adds to the realism, imo - Even though you can easily set it up as you like via your TV's settings.

Loading times were a bit shorter on the PS3 version, i didn't count it though. ( They were almost on par on the BenQ drive, but still faster on the PS3 ).

So all this talk about Playstation 3 having 'an edge' is bullocks in my opinion, specially if you own a 360 with a BenQ drive, you are set. Both versions are on par when you add everything together, none of them have a real edge. So as stated many times, don't chose your version based on any graphical edges, you'll just be disappointed. Get the version for the console of preference, where your friends are.

This is a quote taken from another forum, i cant confirm if its true but here we go:

Right im back guys and can offer a little bit of help for people wanting to know a bit more about GTA4 GAME and GAMEPLAY pre orders.

Been speaking this morning to a DPD(Parceline) driver that ive known personally for years and hes a very keen gamer, although his company arent delivering GTA for GAME and GAMEPLAY he has pre ordered the special edition with GAME and got ALOT of info from the PARCELFORCE drivers.

Below is basically all the stuff i asked him about and the things he let me know about too.

Parcel Force or Royal Mail

They are technically the same group but:

Special Editions - Parcel Force Van

Normal Editions - Postie

Wesbite updates/emails

When checking orders on websites if they say theyve been despatched now (or yesterday) technically some havent. He believes Game and Gameplay have started doing this because they have so many orders for the system to process. So dont take too much notice of strange despatch dates/no despatch date/early despatch emails.

Today

You will not receive your pre order from Game or Gameplay today!!!!! Some have started to be despatched today but they are the FIRST CLASS and SECOND CLASS postage methods and he says they wont have got very far.

When are they despatching?

This applies to both editions!!!

Today - First class & Second class (Not all of first Class)

Monday - Next day delivery (Rest of first class)

Could i get my game early?

Yes! Monday is possible, for first class and even the next day ones being despatched the same day. There will not be as many people gettin it Monday as there will be Tuesday it will be nothing like a normal release. Dont blame Rockstar for trying to keep it close to street date blame them for releasing it on a Tuesday lol. Its the weekend that causes this.

If you pre ordered ages ago and if youve got the special edition!

HIS OPINION AND APPLIES TO SPECIAL EDITION!!! When you pre ordered doesnt make much of a difference really, there might be a slight order to the process that GAME and GAMEPLAY had but all the Parcelforce vans (delivering special editions) will be leaving at the same sort of times and the days depend on the postage method as said previously.

What about normal edition?

The despatch dates are the same like it says above. They will get delivered with the normal postie!

Could i get my game late??

There is a very very very slight possibility some normal editions that are using Gamplays second class MIGHT be a day late with the postie. Thats a total prediction due to the way he understands their system but hes sure theres going to be extra work put in to prevent this.

If any other postage methods are late thatll be down to the sorting office for normal editions that had first class delivery but got sent Monday

or

a van getting hit by a Fast and Furious style thief for special edtions.

ITS VERY VERY UNLIKELY theres alot of work going into avoiding it in all cases.

What else did he mention

Hes annoyed he cant play his game yet even though he knows exactly where it is sitting and its ready (hes gettin it from the Parcel Force driver Monday). Alot of the drivers are doing alot of overtime and working really hard. He said it would have been sooo much easier to just start yesterday but GAME and GAMEPLAY saw it as too much of a risk for 'too' early deliveries. Is 44 too old to be gaming?? lol i told him no. Also you cant track/ask for a tracking number till Monday and its usually only given out if there late.

So it looks like the original info was correct from the GAME worker, the confusion is caused by the website systems basically. I just want this game now im being patient and confident that all will work well. We cant really comment much more on deliveries etc till Tuesday. Hopefully it all runs as smooth and as planned. Hope this helps people!!!!

I would like to suggest to people that have used other companies to use this as a rough guide also. But people that ordered from GAMESEEK are getting copies arriving today of normal edition that were special delivery:O lucky buggas.

Disregard this, some information was posted in the last page.

But i really wish the Danish postservice would pick up mail on Saturdays. My copy was dispatched today, yet i don't believe it will be picked up until Monday and sent out. Curse Rockstar and a Tuesday release!

Mine was posted/dispatched this morning (at 8:47am), however it has no been sent for next day (they forgot!! even though I paid ?4.95) I spoke to them at length today and was advised there was nothing they could do but refund the postage and wait to see if it arrives on the day.

My question thought after reading that is does anyone reckon that even if they have sent it (Special Edition) via ordinary post it will be delivered by van, or will it be the regular postie (I hope to god its not as I have major problems with him delivering as I live in flats and he stores things up until he has a few or doesnt even bother and just sticks a card through the door saying pick it up from the sorting office as I wasnt in. I have collared him a few times doing this and have actually stopped him seconds after posting the card and he just says its at the sorting office) This is on top of things plain not arriving at all:((

I just have no luck with postage and posties:((

All the special editions are being delivered by parcel force wether you pay for next day or not, the size of the boxes for the special editions denotes this they are HUGE!

All Special Editions will be delivered by van

Normal Editions will be delivered by the regular postman

It runs as a single executable, making it ideal for USB use and field work. You can view PDFs with smooth PDFium rendering, navigate quickly with thumbnails, zoom, and shortcuts, and reorganize pages using drag-and-drop. It supports merging multiple PDFs, splitting documents, and extracting selected pages. KillerPDF also allows inline text editing with font matching to preserve the original layout, plus annotations like text boxes, freehand drawing, highlights, and reusable signatures. You can search full text, copy content easily, and print documents with flattened annotations. Designed as a free and open alternative to bloated PDF tools, it works fully offline on Windows 10/11 x64. No runtimes install. Everything needed is inside the EXE (targets .NET Framework 4.8, which ships with every supported Windows release). KillerPDF key features: High-quality PDF rendering via PDFium Edit PDF text inline (double-click to modify text) Page thumbnails and fast navigation with zoom and shortcuts Merge multiple PDFs into one Split PDFs and extract selected pages Drag-and-drop page reordering Font matching to preserve original document appearance Text boxes for notes Freehand drawing tools Highlight overlays with adjustable color, size, opacity Undo actions and clear per-page annotations Create, draw, and save reusable signatures Click-to-place signatures anywhere Full-text search with highlighted results Drag-select or Ctrl+A to copy text Print with annotations flattened Portable single-file app (~10 MB) No installer, no admin rights required No account, no telemetry KillerPDF 1.4.2 changelog: What's new PDF form filling. Interactive PDF forms now render their fields (text inputs, checkboxes, radio buttons) as live controls. Fill them in directly and save — field values are written back into the PDF. PDF outline (bookmark) navigation. A new OUTLINES tab in the sidebar displays the document's bookmark tree. Click any entry to jump to that page. The sidebar auto-fits its width to the longest entry on open and can be dragged wider; switching back to PAGES snaps to the pages-mode width. Fixed Page rotation no longer reverts after saving. Rotations applied via the sidebar context menu now persist correctly through the save pipeline. Copied text words were out of order on PDFs where glyphs are stored in non-reading order (Issue #66). Text extraction now sorts words by position and uses a dynamic line-grouping threshold so both drag-select and Select All produce correctly ordered output. PDFs with malformed or non-standard XRef tables now open in read-only mode instead of showing "Invalid entry in XRef table" and failing entirely. • The very fact that a TPM (v2.0 specifically which is part of the issue I suspect) is now a baseline for any supported Windows installation will naturally mean other vendors will start to leverage it as they know it'll be there. It's called progress, and it's always been the way. A TPM isn't a windows thing, it's just a module designed to securely store keys. Secure boot isn't a Windows thing (although MS are the TCA as I recall hence the upheaval this year as the 2011 certs expire), it's just a way to verify a bootloader is signed. Windows simply leverages them.
    • It's a local account with the ability to reset a password at a very base level. I really don't get the issue that gets whipped up around it But you do you
