[Official] Grand Theft Auto IV

I don't have a good picture of what I'm trying to convey, but I just wanted to say, I was walking through town with my boyfriend yesterday and noticed aload of GTA signs and it hit me, he looks a hell of alot like Niko. Even has the same jacket.

...I just spent a few minutes trying to find a good picture that shows it but the best I come up with suck

ah well

Guess you guys could just not control yourselves and did not understand that there should be no talk about playing the game before it was released.

When I have the time to go through it all tomorrow, plenty of warnings are going to be handed out.

On top of that, to the members who continuously broke the rules and talked about it not just once but several times, those people are going to be getting a minimum of a one week time restriction from posting in the Gamers Hangout at all.

This will give you all the chance to visit the forums who do allow talking about piracy, because obviously you do not get the fact that we do not allow that here.

Way to go people.

Before I start I want to say, yes I have seen people say not to argue with the mods, but it has to be brought up (and it would be nice if DL or one of the mods could post a response too)

While I haven't been active in this thread, I have been reading it a fair bit.

I don't want to get into an argument, and this will be my only post here.

However, the street date has been broken by many retailers. Meaning a lot of people have legit copies. While a few days ago most of the people talking about the gameplay hands on probably did have a pirated copy, the fact is that right now, the majority of people playing it do have a legit copy.

To ban the discussion of something because some people may have a pirated version is just silly. Using that logic, should neowin ban the discussion of any games? Since any games can be pirated.

Come on DL, use some common sense please. Its just ridiculous that people are being banned from talking about a game which they have legitimately bought, and nothing they have said or done broke any neowin rules.

It has absolutely nothing to do with me really, but I am kinda shocked to see this level of censorship happening on a forum which I feel a part of.

Just thought i would mention that Im going to get a 360 just for this game.

But I watched the "world exclusive" review from IGN. That video told me, NOTHING. All it showed me was some footage and some small information about multiplayer. The storyline and how vehicles handle and is there the ability to customise your vehicle? Or can you tone up ypur body like in GTA:SA?

Thanks for giving me **** all to go on IGN. They need to look up the definition of review before they post more **** like that. The only thing he did mention however was it was the first game ever(?) to be rated a 10 and shoudl be game of the year. Again, his opinion means nothing.

Time to start saving.

Watch the GameTrailers review, they have more detail, though that also means more spoilers... im guessing IGN tried to keep it as spoiler free as possible...

:woot:

Might pop down Tesco's at 11pm if my mum still feels like taking me :p

They sold me GTA:SA at 10pm the night of release..

Aye Tescos told me be there for 10pm at their 'extra' store. A store which services a good 20 mile radius I should point out.. Why?

THEY ONLY HAVE 30 ****ING COPIES.

'extra' hassle more like.

Not sure about other Asdas and Tescos, I live right near both (within 2 minutes for both).

I went into Asda and saw the woman on the gaming counter.

"Hello is it tonight or can I get a copy of GTA now...we cant sell it order, Ive got a big list of pre-orders...the ps3 preorders are full up, if I were you Id sign up, if you just turn up your wont get it at midnight....oh right...*signed up to her pre-order list*...so what if I turn up at 11.30 *wink wink* she laughed and told me that they'd get fined and will not sell a single copy before 12.

I'm looking forward to seeing the que, the pre-order list was huge.

....and if all else fails, I can try the tesco or game in town.

Woot, only 5 hours left until GTAIV... Gonna go down my local gamestation and pick it up (already preordered there since like january or something) and hope that my play.com order comes in the post tomorrow so I can sell it to my mate or just send it back to the lying ****s. They've taken my money 3 days before posting the game? Not on...

Yay mine has shipped from Gamestop and should be getting it sometime tomorrow. Anyone else find it appropriate that the tax for it was $4.20 heh.

Wouldn't it be better if the tax was $4.29?

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
    • I wonder if "put it back the way it was for decades" ever crossed their minds? 🤣
    • Rescind the stupid "Show more options" in context menus and just give us the full menu instead of adding more steps to get to what we want. The "simpler by default" makes me think they'll go in the opposite direction. Every context menu should have a configure button so you can pick and choose what options should be shown, I know you can do that with some registry fu but that shouldn't be required.
    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
