Hmm just called my semi local Best Buy. Asked the girl on the phone if they had the new GTA in stock she said yes....We have ALOT. I am really surprised.

No need to be surprised. The BB I work at received 800+ copies for PS3 and 900+ copies for 360.

I just had my first freeze. After the first cut scene for the second job for Vlad, I left the bar and it got stuck on the loading screen. Bah.

Just picked up my reserved copy from Best Buy.... looked like they only had about 10 360 copies and another 10 PS3 copies for sale that were not reserved, also saw they only had 3 SE of the PS3 version and no SE 360 versions left. only another 3 hours of work left before I can play.

Loving it, played alot of multiplayer learning the different types. Cops and Crooks is badass, as well as Hangman's NOOSE, and Bomb Da Base II (real fun). Fun game all around. Trying to do the 'Walk Free' achievement, but heli keeps spotting me at the last second.

I picked up my copy for the 360 last night/this morning at midnight at Walmart. There were maybe 8-10 other people infront of me and maybe another 6-8 behind me in line. Someone I was talking to in line said when he drove by GameStop there was probably at least 60 people outside in line. I haven't really gotten to play it yet though. I played for about 20-30mins this morning before I left for work, but that wasn't nearly enough time to get a feel for it. My initial impression is that the controls are really strange, and the cars feel weird too. But I'll check it out later. So far the story seems really interesting, and Niko's cousin has some serious issues (seems like a habitual liar lol). I can't wait til I get off work in 2hrs though so I can go home and play it.

I also noticed it felt a little sluggish just moving around and driving and stuff too. Not sure if it's by design, my 360 or if it was actually lagging. Something I need to check into when I get home.

my ps3 and gta iv are arriving tomorrow :) can anyone tell me if the game suffers from people & vehicles disappearing when they go off camera for a while like its predessesors? that sh*t really used to irk me somewhat.. thx.

It still happens but not as bas as previous games. Lets say you see a nice car that goes by you at a different direction and you try to turn around and chase it to snag it, most times you will never find it as it disappears...

There were no supply issues here in Scunthorpe. Those daft enough to queue at 12 outside Game needn't have bothered. Only Tesco had sold out. I got mine at one in the afternoon and a couple of friends got theirs later on in the evening (360 for me - PS3 for them)

I am struggling with the car handling because I have been playing Burnout Paradise for the last few months, I keep hitting the X button for the handbrake and then the A for boost - oh dear no boost.

I have also found the cars to have brakes that lock up too easily, making you plough straight on, gonna have to practice cornering. Brake a bit earlier I think.

Does anyone know how to play with friends online? It says co-op-2-4 on the back.

I hit up on the D pad go to multi player select party mode and it just loads me as some girl and my 3 friends cant do anything. Even tried to sign on in on xbox live from my xbox as well as me being online.

Is it like CoD where you can only have 1 person online per xbox?

Edit: we are all at my house trying to play - hope this clarifies it up a bit

You can't do that. You guys need to be on different 360s and play on Xbox Live. There is no split screen, there is no system link.

I had the exact same thing happen to me, other than that no other problems at all. Played it for a while today and it's a fantastic game.. love all the little touches in it, like the way that Niko comes crashing through the windscreen when you smash into something travelling at speed :p

      Fixing things? Have you ever tried linux? Everything works out of the box nowadays in most common hardware. This includes Wifi and Bluetooth. If anything, if they return back to windows is because they haven't found an equivalent program which often used on windows.
