For me... Yes its enough.

I have 2x1GB Corsair XMS2, and Windows XP SP2.

Ive never used a computer with more memory than 2GB, so maybe i think 2GB is fine because i have no idea if more would be a noticeable improvement? Who knows.

I use my PC for many many things, from encoding video, watching 720p / 1080p videos, playing games (Well only Counter Strike Source and TF2) all of which works perfectly well on my system :)

i find that really hard to believe.

Considering I only use the tablet to take notes and surf the web, I find your comment hard to believe

Try it. I used to run Vista with 512MB RAM on my desktop and never noticed any performance problems until I started gaming

2GB was enough for me but I burnt out one stick and am down to 1GB again. It really seems lackluster at times but I don't feel like putting much money into computers anymore, it never seems to make much of a difference.

running with 2 gigs is cool and is - imo - the sweet spot where your rig runs at optimal capacity . I don't feel the need for more but I'll never be able to go back to less.

I've only ever used vista on a PC with at least 2gb of ram. And I would never consider using one with less than that. It seems bad enough with 2gb.

Yeah, it's enough by almost all standards*. The personal issue with me was, "Hey, if it's this cheap, I'll get 4 gigs." So that's what I did. :D

My brother runs his with 2 gigs and I only notice a difference when we try to do like 30 things at once (seriously!), and that's not really that often.

*exceptions apply.

I have 2GB at the moment, which is fine, but my processor is a Northwood 3Ghz so upgrading anything now is pointless.

My new rig will run Vista x64 and have 4GB RAM. It will be lasting me for a few years at least.

    • draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 by Razvan Serea draw.io desktop is a downloadable security-first diagramming application that runs on Windows, MacOS and Linux. Creating diagrams in the desktop app doesn’t need an internet connection. This is useful when you are disconnected or when you must create diagrams in a highly secure environment, where data protection is of the utmost importance. When you use the draw.io desktop app, your diagrams will be stored on your local device. Because this is a stand-alone application, also designed to run offline, there are no interfaces to cloud storage platforms available. Of course, you can still store your diagrams in folders that are synchronised to your cloud storage if you wish. Easy-to-use diagram editor The draw.io apps work just like the office and drawing tools you are used to using. Drag and drop shapes from the shape libraries and drag to draw connectors between them. Drag connectors to add waypoints and set a precise shape and position, or let them reroute automatically. Double click and start typing to add a label to anything. Create tables and swimlane flows with a familiar tool. Style shapes and connectors with customisable palettes, sketch options, fonts and text formatting tools. Search for shapes, including in open-source icon libraries. Use our vast libraries of shapes and templates, organised into logical categories, to create a range of diagrams and infographics. Generate diagrams from text descriptions using our smart templates. Diagram faster with keyboard shortcuts. draw.io Desktop 30.2.6 changelog: Uses electron 42.5.0 #2452 Updates to draw.io core 30.2.6.
