Iron Man ranked right up there with Batman Begins for me. Absolutely fantastic superhero origin movie.

And for those of you who haven't seen the Iron Man & Batman (Mac & PC Parody) on YouTube you need to go watch it. I'd link, but I'm at work and cannot get there right now..

I went to see this not expecting much.

To me the "Iron Man" comics had always been a lower-league Marvel range, never really getting all that much hype as some of the others. As such, I assumed the license would be cheaper, and thus the film would be lousy.

Holy smokes was I wrong. I totally enjoyed this film, perfect blend of humour and action. CGI was very well done, and the acting was (for the most part) fine.

Also, Robert Downey Jr - how good is he as an action lead!?!? I'd never have placed him in a role like this, but damn!

Even my GF was raving about it, and she HATES comic movies!

Batman Begins was great, Spidey became disappointing since the second movie (Venom could have been soooo great.).

May fav over the last few years was Superman Returns though (there's a surprise ;)). Seen Iron Man twice at the cinema now though.

The back story of Batman is far more interesting & complex compared to Iron Man.

Saw it yesterday for the second time, truly enjoyable movie, but come one, its not even near Batman Begisn :p

I agree. I love them both, but Batman Begins is by far my favorite comic book movie to date, with Iron Man a close second.

I agree... but then again, it's also apples and oranges.

Of course the back story for Batman is far more complex. It starts out with Bruce (basically a normal kid, born to a wealthy family) as a child, and the tragic murder of his parents... pain and revenge build him up to what he becomes. He has to learn everything... how to fight, how to survive, yadda yadda yadda.

Where as with Iron Man, you've basically got a (genius) guy who's been living the good life until his mid-30's. He builds himself a way to escape captivity, and then uses it for good. Really not much of a back story available for Iron Man.

When you look at the actual characters post-superhero. Stark is actually more complex than Bruce.

Not trying to take anything away from Batman... I loved it as well.

I thought Iron Man was brilliant, I like Comic Book films but Iron Man is the first one I've been to see Twice. I thought Robert Downey JR was perfect for the role of Tony Stark, he seemed to fit into the Part really well. Also there were quite some comic moments (Pardon the pun) And the twist with his Enemy was quite a shocker!

I think its a 10/10 for me! Its even good enough to be included in my Sig!

Saw it for the 3rd time tonight. I must say this movie was almost perfect. Nevermind about the plot holes or cliches, I can let that slide. It fell short from being a 9.5 to an 8 simply because of the lack of action. I wanted more dammit. I can't wait to see how they will do the Avengers.

Anyone caught the Captain America easter egg?

After watching this for the 5th time, I have to say it's a remarkable movie. And the key to it was RDJ. The guy made the movie that more enjoyable. Coming into it for the first time, my expectation was a bit high. I wanted it to be a perfect movie. It had to have tons of action, great CGI, great plot & great acting. I got all 3 except for action. There was so much more I wanted to see. I wanted more after the credits rolled. So maybe Favreau is saving it for the sequel. The more I watched it, the more I fell in love with RDJ's acting in this one. If it was a different actor, IM wouldn't be as much fun.

Both Iron Man & the Incredible Hulk are different. IM had more of a human connection to the hero. Even with the suit on. But with the Hulk, I can't make the connection between Banner & Hulk. There was nothing there that made me thought Norton's character was still inside the green monster. Which I thought turn off many people.

So my final grade for IM is a 8.5/10.

Saw this today, absolutely amazing movie. This is by far my new favorite super-hero. :p I'd give it a 9/10 easily. Everything about this movie is fun, the quality of the acting, the CGI and everything comes together so perfectly.

It's amazing, and I agree with anyone who says its one of the best movies ever made. It's in the category with The Dark Knight if not better. I might actually pick this up on Bluray, I liked it that much.

Batman Returns #1

The Dark Knight #2

Iron Man #3

I Am Legend #4

My new top four list! :)

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.

    • VidCoder 12.20 by Razvan Serea VidCoder is a DVD/Blu-ray ripping and video transcoding application for Windows. It uses HandBrake as its encoding engine. Calling directly into the HandBrake library gives it a more rich UI than the official HandBrake Windows GUI. VidCoder can rip DVDs but does not defeat the CSS encryption found in most commercial DVDs. You’ll need the NET 8 Desktop Runtime. If you don’t have it, VidCoder will prompt you to download and install it. The Portable version is self-contained and does not require any .NET Runtime to be installed. You do not need to install HandBrake for VidCoder to work. Feature list: Multi-threaded MP4, MKV containers Completely integrated encoding pipeline: everything is in one process and no huge intermediate temporary files H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, Theora video Hardware-accelerated encoding with AMD VCE, Nvidia NVENC and Intel QuickSync AAC, MP3, Vorbis, AC3, FLAC audio encoding and AAC/AC3/MP3/DTS/DTS-HD passthrough Target bitrate, size or quality for video 2-pass encoding Decomb, detelecine, deinterlace, rotate, reflect, chroma smooth, colorspace filters Powerful batch encoding with simultaneous encodes Customizable Pickers to automatically pick audio and subtitle tracks, destination, titles and more Instant source previews Creates small encoded preview clips Pause, resume encoding VidCoder 12.20 changes: Updated HandBrake core to 1.11.2.
