Steven P. Administrators Posted May 7, 2008 Administrators Share Posted May 7, 2008 We've made some pretty dramatic changes with the forum this past year, one important feature being that some topics are bolded in the topic index. What does it mean? Bolded topics serve 2 purposes, the first being: it's a new topic that you haven't read yet, and the second: there have been replies since you last read it. This is a custom hack that Neowin installed into Invision Board* You will also notice that member name colors carry everywhere on the forum now, this makes it easier to see if a moderator has replied to a thread straight from the board index. * Neowin does not share it's custom code, most if not all are readily available from Invision Modding plus we don't want to take any responsibility for "hacked code" being used on any site other than Neowin. Pupik
Not seeing the colored names (and I have done Ctrl+F5 as well as run Ccleaner). I don't see the colored names too and the bold text (the one that described by the op), using Firefox 2.0.0.14 (and Vista Ultimate, if that matters somehow). DDStriker
since its been brought up i may as well post don't most forums usually bold the text of new posts anyway? i would of expected IPB to have this "feature" from the very start i'm surprised it had to be "hacked" in
Colin-uk Veteran Posted October 10, 2009 Veteran Share Posted October 10, 2009 iim guessing it was a feature we added ourselves and the IPB added it in a new release as a standard feature. (although i could be wrong) but that does seem to happen a lot with our custom hacks :p
