Um i don't know about your last time here in Canada IF EVER, but Alcohol and Tobacco are now harder than ever to find if you are under the legal age of purchase.

This has happened in the last year or 2. So please don't talk like you know what it is like in a country across the ocean* from you.

YES it is still possible to find these things, But it is harder than ever before.

AND Now almost everywhere ask for ID, the only time it isn't a problem is if it's your friends asking. (they have have cameras at most stores watching and the boss' check to make sure you check their ID.

FYI, it is now law in Ontario (the most populated province in Canada which holds 2/3rds of the countries population)

It is now law that you must ask for ID from anyone under the age of 45 years old.

Yes.

No.

Not too sure about this one. Alcohol alters your state of mind and is legal. Cannabis alters your state of mind and is illegal. Personally it wouldn't bother me if it was legal or not. I still would not use it again.

It's only this lack of personal responsibility that really justifies keeping things controlled/illegal.

Not picking you on Persephone, but in the brief read of this thread the main argument is that it is no different from alcohol and providing you use responsibly then it's ok.

Simply put, people don't drink alcohol responsibly in the first place so there is little chance of them taking cannabis responsibly. We'd just end up with another intoxicating drug being used irresponsibly, for which there is little to no penalty for. Let's teach people how to be "responsible" first, before letting them loose with something else to be "responsible" for.

what do you mean by made purer? Cannabis if it is cross breeded is still pure, until they mix it with a different chemical or drug it is considered pure. Quality doesn't mean pure or impure.

Sorry if I wasn't too clear. I meant pure as in, only Cannabis without the additives. Like I've seen my friend pull out a bit of bin bag out of a bit... Not nice.

Responsibility remains an issue when the substance is criminalized, as we learned all too well in the days of alcohol prohibition.

Not anytime soon

Legalize, with restrictions

The government wastes too much time playing with petty marijuana offenses that could be put towards other uses. For example, I am on probation for the next 12 months (out of 18 total) because I was caught with a slightly used pipe in my car. Does this crime warrant a punishment? Sure, one can say "Its illegal, thus you should be punished," but how does something so mundane as personal marijuana use warrant the government's intervention? What is so bad about having a good time, with the help of marijuana? People do it with alcohol all the time, and it is perfectly fine as long as you are 21+ (in the US) and 'being responsible'. Besides the form of ingestion (smoking vs. drinking), what is the difference? If you dont like being around smokers, then stay away from them. If you dont like drinking, then do the same. The only problem lies in people becoming irresponsible.

I loved weed while I was able to use it, but I have never tried cocaine, heroin, meth, or any other strongly addictive drugs, and I do not plan to. I smoke a cigarette on occasion while at a party, but its more a social thing. I never buy them, either, just to keep myself from getting addicted or anything of that nature. Using marijuana has never made me "want a stronger high", as someone here said. However, it has sparked my interest in different highs, mostly hallucinogens and psychedelics. Every once in a when my schedule and resources permit, I will treat myself to a DXM trip (a drug that 'does it right'- you have to be 18+ to buy it) or some salvia if I have any (quickly becoming illegal in the US, unfortunately). For the record, I have never even bought marijuana, I just have really nice friends ;)

I just finished 6 months of treatment at the town's Drug Addictions clinic, and I felt completely out of place in their group sessions. While a lot of people in there had simple DUI's, more than half of them had histories of drug and alcohol offenses. These are the people that the government should be worried about, not people like me who use drugs responsibly. Responsible, and legal, alcohol use is perfectly fine, and so should marijuana use should be too.

LMAO, a friend of mines parents felt because of marijuana she was partying to much and shes "addicted" so they made her go to Winnipeg Drug Addiction Clinic (not sure if that the exact name).

She felt so weird in there, and like barely ever talked cause most of the people were Big addicts of other substances.

I felt bad for her :( thought I'd share a similar story, without the probation and non-use.

I feel for you! Hold strong for the next year!

All drugs are generally a waste of good money, health, and brain cells. I don't really think marijuana should be legalized other than for medicinal purposes (for approved medical conditions)..... Yes, theoretically if pot could be sold at your local drug store, then they could card people and keep it from being sold to minors.... but then, if an adult wanted to buy some then resell it to kids, they could. no matter what we do to try and keep it out of kids' hands, it will get there anyway. That's just the way it worx. Its just sad that people in the US can't think beyond their current situation (sell drugs to kids because you need money/because they want to buy rather than not selling to kids, simply because these are the future of our country)

There's fewer and fewer forward-thinking adults these days... everyone's just trying to do what they need to do to get thru today, even if it means poisoning and possibly killing kids. It's just sad.

Some of you guys just don`t get it Do you? Alcohol is a completely different substance,It made of yeast and yeast is a food bio hazard and was also legal before the 20`s during probation and it was only there because of the trafficking going on; Witch increased when they outlawed it. ,Where Pot Mary J or what the heck you call it is a weed. And was also the replacement from the Mobs or Bike gangs to make a quick buck.Yeah right you have no mental illness from smoking up .So explain why your so paranoid about being caught or get so Defensive around others who are not into it?

Also you forget that most of the MaryJ you buy is laced with cocaine so you buy that .One last thing Do any of you realize that every time your dealer sells you seeds or pot, your helping support violence weather you want to admit or not,He has to give back to his suppliers and they have to buy weapons from someone......It`s an endless cycle. I think the only laws that should be passed is like China`s.You get caught with it ,you get your head blown off right there no judge or jury or chance of lying your way out of anything,That there would get some of you to think twice about it.

lee, you dont' have a clue about it, I have never wanted a bigger fix, you don't get addicted to marijuana at all comparable to something where you need a fix. (Some people have been known to be sold Cannabis mixed with other drugs without knowing it which is the only time something like this would happen)

And we are not imposing it on anyone, thats like saying if someone walks down the street with a smoothy they are imposing it upon you to buy one.

also marijuana doesn't cause SEVERE mental issues unless that person already has a susceptibility to it due to an already existing problem.

It is just like alcohol, you don't drink it if you have a bad liver or have an addictive personality or a really violent person, or you die, become an alcoholic, or are an extreme violent drunk.

don't smoke Cannabis if you have a mental problem, or it very possibly will cause you harm

Lee, you are uneducated on Marijuana and it's effects on people. I come to this conclusion from your first line:

Well numbnutz a smoothy does not stink like some vegetarian has just honked in your mouth.

So you want to legalise it then? Because that will take the dealers off the streets instantly.

Also, they put cocaine in weed? Scare tactics much?

Lol h82luz, most weed you buy isn't laced, if you know your dealer your safe, if a dealer gets a reputation it is laced no one will buy from him, and it takes just one coked out trip for someone to realise it.

And trust me it is noticeable, also i'm pretty sure my friends who deal and friends brothers who grow their own or buy off of 65 year old Willy Billy the Hippy aren't supporting the purchase of guns, of course I do live in Canada where until you get into the big cities is gun free.

FYI, those biker gangs people stay away from cause they have ****ty weed.

And lee, I understand you don't wanna smell it and you can easily smoke in public without others smelling it. (unless it is super Chron, in which case I'd stay home and smoke it OR in a Cannabis Smoking room)

Why is it still legal in some countries like Netherlands? They have good healthcare system and so on, so they surely make statistics about effects of marijuana just like with alcohol. If there would be more health issues with it than with alcohol or cigarettes wouldn't they have made it illegal then?

I would just like to say that your entire post makes a very good case for making weed legal. If it we're legal there would be no gangs making money off it on the black market. Also if it we're legal it would be regulated and there for not laced with anything. As far as alcohol being a "food" there are plenty of herbs which you can consume weed being one also. You can use it in a great many recipes. As for the paranoia just because your paranoid doesn't make you mentally ill. There are plenty of people who become paranoid without touching weed. So your entire post really has not made a decent case for keeping weed illegal.

Surely their not that kind.

As for your post

I have never used it, I never will use it, however I am fully for the legalization of marijuana. My reasoning is simple, if it was legal we wouldn't need to spend so much time and money attempting to combat its use, for a truly harmless substance, and would be able to tax and regulate it a lot easier as people are inherently lazy.

For most people it'd be easy to go to the store and buy a pack of weederettes and pay the sales and product tax on them thus sending more money into the economy.

    • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
