What tool would I use to convert it to MP3, every tool I use on Vista seems to want to save it as wma.

Link: SUPER

Great free program I use to convert between video and audio formats.

In your case you would disable the video and change the audio to mp3 :)

And surely it isn't a good idea to have people posting responses into the topic.

Wouldn't it be fairer to simply set up an email address to submit entries to?

I mean if I had any creativity and spent time making a great submission then it just wouldn't feel right if someone viewed the topic and then ripped mine off, you know?

So you want a one minute audio file, with creativity and flair, based on what I would do, if the fantasy creature commonly referred to as a 'dragon', were a real life pet?

That's exactly it, in a week's time, we'll be picking the most creative entry from the bunch :)

Part of the idea here is that the community suggests little tweaks, learns off eachother and has a bit of a laugh. That's why you're allowed to submit as many as you want, just telling us which final one you want to be judged on.

However, if you really want to submit anonymously, PM me and I'll check it over with the staff to see if that's allowed.

Haha and SkyyPunk... if there was a Digg button just for your accent, I'd digg it.

I had the exact same feeling...

BTW, I am mostly french/spanish speaking and my english is not 'that good'... Will the accent make any difference in the judgement ? I guess I'll send my first shot in a few mins...

Edit: where is the 'attach' button ?

On originality...

Try not to worry too much about people stealing your ideas. As stated, we're judging it largely on originality, so if an entry steals ideas without adding anything new, it won't be looked upon ad favourably as the original.

On English...

As for English skills...largely unimportant so don't think for a second you'll be judged on accents. Apart from SkyyPunk who we're promoting to Admin here.

On submitting...

In the Attachments panel when you submit a post, select Browse... find your file, then select UPLOAD. Then submit your post as usual.

That's great then... :) I'll have my brother talk for me as he is a bit better... and my son too young :(

Anyway, I'm still unable to find the attach button ... am I short-sighted ?

When you go to add a reply, the attachments panel looks like this:

i just clicked reply and i don't have it displaying in this forum section.

Rob/Other Devs: I think you will need to check the permissions for attachments in this section for regular users.

I'm glad to know I am not the only one short-sighted ... I think it is a permissions thingy...

Question: In case I submit more than one, is there a specific way to highlight the desired entry?

Just indicate in your post by saying something like 'Please judge this entry instead of my others in post 12, post 15 and post 55' etc.

There's nothing in the rules that says that you should only speak in English.

Ha I'm sitting at work laughing to myself with my headphones on. Love it guys, keep up the good work.

And Dogward - there's nothing in the rules that prevents you submitting an entry in any language, but the entertainment factor is likely to be lost on a predominantly English-speaking staff here if most of us can't understand it ;)

    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • I have disabled it, but the app is still taking space. I have a Mac and it is only possible to disable Ai on that, but I think that bit does get rid of the AI components after a while. What we are told is that we agree to all this when we use the devices as it is in the end user agreements, their software, they can do what they like. I doubt that any bill will happen in the U.S, the government there are in league with big tech firms. The E.U maybe, they seem to have some guts when it comes to tech companies. The U.K is not in the E.U, but some things still affect us. Our government is as gutless when it comes to tech companies as the U.s government.
