My Dad Is Looking To Buy A Laptop

Recommended Posts

I have both the Apple MBP (personal) and the Lenovo Thinkpad T61p (work):

At the time when I bought the T61p it was priced closely to the MBP. Both are great laptops and are very similarly speced. While I enjoy using the MBP more, but for me there are somethings I like about the T61p: ruggedness, higher screen resolution, and having a docking station. Lenovo often has online coupon codes too.

Whatever you end up getting, make sure you factor in warranty for the laptop.

But if you're thinking of Dells, I think there's suppose to be a Dell Latitude E-Series that will be out in the coming months.

Dell latitude... my brother office uses them a lot

they just bought them a new one was around 1400 euros..

they are 700 euros aswell

they are VERY stabile and battery time is sick.. (8 hours :o)

i will say this we use dell at work D620/30 we just done a refresh of 5k lappys the only dell i wont recommend is the D430 as you are resdtricted by processing power and memory and as someone else has already said we have gone with lenovo's for the lightweight model :)

Having both a Dell XPS and a T61, I will also recommend you to get the Thinkpad. Its build quality is far superior to the Dell.
