that second women wouldn't shut up about the iPhone and what you can do with it. I don't think she was a very good reporter...

That's cool they are showing off some Windows 7 features already, but you give the competition time to copy

the problem with that is there would have to be some kind of tactile feel on the MT screen otherwise typing on it would be a real pain for us touch-typists.

I agree that tactile feedback would be a problem, but surely that wouldn't out-weigh the advantages?

where do they get these people. Complete morons interviewing developers about **** they don't understand....it never fails. I can't believe someone asked if you would have to replace your desktop computer monitor. Don't get me started on the "Oh, like the iPhone" lady...

what would be awesome is if there was some kind of addon for existing LCDs to make them touch enabled! lol i know pie int he sky dream, but it would goa long waaayyy to converting people to touch who dont want to buy another LCD.

also who wants to bet apple beats M$ to market on this for computers and does a better job? no offence to M$ it just feels like their development cycles are bloated and not concentrated.

^ im pretty sure the dual-screen idea is patented by Nintendo. Its what sepereates them. If everyone was able to come out with this, then the DS would have no value.

how bout a tablet, but the keyboard slides out and folds? LIke the ATT Tilt. slid from underneath, then fold to a 90 degree angle.

how people can get away with patenting such "anybody could have thought about it" things is beyond me.

and while this multitouch seems like the logical evolution, there's no point for current hardware. For a desktop computer it's certainly not very ergonomic, unles the screen is like on a table slightly tilted, but in that case your wrists would lie ON the table and mess everything up, it would be very tiring. As for a laptop it can be cool, but then again it seems like an attempt to revamp the flopped tablet PC. But of course, multitouch tablet laptops seem to be the future, and tablet macbooks have been rumored since like forever, just like the iphone.

but what's there to copy? there's been multitouch talks for years. remember "surface" or whatver it was called? it was like that. and the iphone does that, too. it's only logical that they make even more multi-touch-y than before, after all we have 10 fingers !! It IS a big evolution but nothing that hasn't been imagined already. It's all a matter of who makes it popular first rather than who's being more innovative.
