Haha nice :p I don't know when the theme is ready for release. I still have a some things left to mockup etc.

I do have some good news for Vista users though. Someone contacted me this week about porting some of my stuff to Vista and I gave him permission for it. He's now working on a Watercolor Emico: Black port :D

Right on! Hope he makes them Aero-capable (not transparent, just the other effects).

I told him that the theme should look exactly like the XP version so I wouldn't count on it. IF there's going to be a 'real' Vista version then it's going to be made by me. And, of course that won't be a port but a complete new version.

That's a shame. Vista's UI seems so clumsy without the GPU acceleration of Aero. Oh well, WE's good enough of a theme that I'd use it with or without Aero.

If he would add stuff to it then he would mod my theme and I don't want that to happen. If there where effects going to be added, then I would want to add them myself. Because people might have different visions on the theme, the Vista version with effects added by others will also look different then what I have in mind.

The only thing that I'm going to ask him is if he can add a shadow to the frame.

Yeah I know. But since there's no way of changing that I thought I might as well give atleast someone permission to release a port. I thought that Vista Stylebuilder would be able to skin the buttons but I never knew that the buttons where inside Explorer.exe. If you told me that back then then you could have had my permission for black. If you still want to do ports for the colors then you've got my permission. But be sure to send me screenshots before you release any :)

Scirwode is working on the shellstyles. I gave him all the files that he needs to make them. The other styles aren't getting any major updates anymore, they'll only get big fixes :)

Thanks! Merry Christmas to you too :)

I can't give anyone a "% complete" update because there's no to do list. There's also not a limit set to how long I'm work on the images and how many times I remake them. I thought I had a final look for the start panel a few weeks back but turns out that I started working on that AGAIN yesterday.

I honestly can't tell how far I'm done with the visual style, sorry.

Watercolor Emico: Black - Vista Port :)

This port is a Vista Basic skin to make it look like the XP version as much as possible.

I think I speak on behalf of a lot of people. Needs more Vista + transparency .

Also... What's the deal on the Winamp skins? Anyone working on one?

Couldn't wait for a release...so I modded my mod of WE Black Classic (and also changed the color to from red to blue) :D

I need to mod the window frames still, but it's looking to be a very slick theme once it's finished!

Wow. That is an amazing mod. Both blue and the red + Luna!

Capric0rn's already spoken ad nauseum about how and why the Vista port would not have Aero/DWM capibilities. He has his own vision for a Vista version of Emico.

^Yep. There's probably going to be a Vista version around the time that I've got Vista on my PC. Then there will be a "real" Vista version with Aero features.

@tehmemories: The red taskbar isn't a mod. It's the black version of my new Watercolor theme :)

@Bri-: Thanks :D I can't create a theme that everyone likes though. And IMO, the BlueSE theme is looking way better then Watercolor Emico: Blue.

    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
    • What I can't seem to understand is that Google are paying SpaceX? Surely it would be the other way round, with SpaceX needing Google's datacenters etc.? Oh well, this level of money and power is way outside of my comprehension at the best of times.
