Capric0rn's already spoken ad nauseum about how and why the Vista port would not have Aero/DWM capibilities. He has his own vision for a Vista version of Emico.

I know that he has his own vision for what he wants it to look like. I just think that the it would look pretty nice if it has some sort or transparency.

Watercolor Emico: Tango Startbuttons

To replace the original Emico startbutton with the Tango startbutton you'll have to use Resedit or Stylebuilder.

The pack only contains startbuttons for the Modern styles. I'm not going to make Tango startbuttons for the Classic style.

Personally I think that the icon only fits with the black styles.

Could you please reupload these?

@Spartan Erik: Open up the file in ResEdit. Then go to "X:\Program Files\TGTSoft\ResEdit\Temp" where X is the drive where you installed ResEdit too. Then go to the folder with the substyle from the visual style that you want to change. After that you can replace the startbutton image with the custom startbutton image :)

Nope. I don't even have Vista yet. Also, I said "probably" so I could even decide to not make an Vista version from Emico. Maybe I want to create a totally new visual style for Vista.

Also, I'm not gonna start a visual style for a different OS when BlueSE and BlackSE aren't even done yet for XP. Both BlueSE and BlackSE are going to be XP only btw.

Well, I dont really like that font. I'm using it in the Start button image and that's the only place where I actually like it. Tahoma looks a lot better in BlueSE.

If you wanted to have it in Emico, then also no. Emico has been finished since I released Olive. There are only going to be shellstyles and bugfixes.

I've said this many times before but I'll say it again :p I can't set a release date. I haven't worked on it since last Sunday due to personal reasons. Also, there's still stuff left to do for me. It's hard to set a release date for stuff that has to do with designs etc. It takes time to mock stuff up and be happy with the designs which are created.

Like for instance, the scrollbars; I've mocked those up many times, tried different designs and I still wasn't happy untill last weekend. Now I'm trying to figure out how I want the arrows to look. I'm also working on tweaks for the frame to give it more contrast and a less blurred out look. I'm also not happy with the current set of buttons which I'm using. It's an updated set off the Emico series and I don't think they fit with the new style. And since SE isn't Emico I need to design a new set of buttons, which isn't easy since all the things that one can do with the buttons have already been done numerous of times. So I'm still figuring out this as well.

Also, BlackSE isn't being worked on yet. I'm going to work on that once BlueSE is done :)

    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
    • What I can't seem to understand is that Google are paying SpaceX? Surely it would be the other way round, with SpaceX needing Google's datacenters etc.? Oh well, this level of money and power is way outside of my comprehension at the best of times.
