^I'm not to happy about the XP part of the text. The rest kinda fits IMO though. But.. I might as well play around with it :p

@skelly831 and MajinDark: Thanks! :D

@StarLion: You do know that you can't release that right?

I meant that the modded frame bothered me. And now the shadow on the icon bothers me :p I'll send you the original icon :)

Also, you should use the caption bars in your skin instead of the startpanel's userpanel. As you can see in the caption bars, the right side has a gloss on the darker blue bottom. The start panel doesn't have that because there's a "clean" places list.

Ok, finaly switched on both main pcs from your old black theme to this new one Cap, and i must say its great :)

but i do have one small thing i would like to bring up, the colour of a flashing window, say on an msn msg, the orange looks wrong to me, kind of sickly coloured, i feel it would look better as a brighter/stronger orange colour.

but then again im no artists so what do i know >.<

I've played around with that color and IMO that color fits the dark mood of the theme.

The logoff button has the same color but it look different because that's a solid image in the mockup. The flash button the hover button, which is transparent in the mockup, with a color overlay.

^Thanks! :D

Here's an updated mockup from the logon screen:

WE-Blue_Logon-Prev.png

I've remade the Key and ? buttons from scratch, they're looking sharper now. I also added the logo in the logon and it looks freally awesome IMO. I also added a selection to the logon which probably won't be in the compiled version. I remember that it causes nasty errors.

Tomorrow I'll be starting the progress on Silver/Grey which will probably be named Grey. I wanted to make it an early release but I changed my mind about it. The only difference between Black and Grey will be the frames. So this version is going to take less time then the previous ones.

Try increasing the font size on "XP" by one increment and change it from capital letters to lower case, it should look a little bit better and match the actual Windows XP logo more closely. :)

^Did you seen the updated version? The updated version actually has XP in lower case letters. The only thin that I'm not happy with is the color. It needs to look a bit brighter IMO.

@peachey: I thought about that and yeah, I was going to try and make one :D

I'm also thinking about using the blue Windows flag for a screensaver based on the default XP screensaver.

I'm also thinking about using the blue Windows flag for a screensaver based on the default XP screensaver.

I can help you with that if you haven't already started.. just need a psd of the flag and maybe the font to be used.

If you're gonna do it then no probs, just thought I'd help :)

    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
    • What I can't seem to understand is that Google are paying SpaceX? Surely it would be the other way round, with SpaceX needing Google's datacenters etc.? Oh well, this level of money and power is way outside of my comprehension at the best of times.
