I do have an idea for an orange color scheme. I had it for sometime now and I wanted it to be a secret theme. IF I'm going to make it, it won't be the typical orange theme you're thinking of. It won't be the same as the other themes either since I want it to have a beige taskbar.

I was hoping for something a little like GUI Air. :)

I'd never use an orange theme so it would be boring for me to work on. Also, it's hard to find complementing colors for controls. A beige modern taskbar doesn't look nice IMO either so as far as I can tell, the orange version is out of the question.

There's also some news about the shellstyle. dis, a member here on Neowin, is willing to help me out with the shellstyle. I made the mockups and he's going to do the coding and compiling. So, the shellstyle is being worked on :D

The only orange GUI Air (that I'm aware of) is this/this mod by Hsn, and it was never released. Of course, Cap already knows that since he made a comment on the devART page. ;D.

Anyway, I don't know if orange would work with the WE series anyway, the sharp gloss would be blinding, even moreso than on the original blue version. If you'll notice in the GUI Air mod, the orange is only used on the caption bar, and as an accessory color. It's really better off used that way. A full orange theme might be too much. :p

^It's going to be released next week. I wanted to work on it today but I decided to take a break this weekend :p

@Scirwode: Thank god :p I think that Olive will be the last color besides Blue SE.

well can't wait, this week is next week :woot:

Well, b0se posted a screenshot a long time back and from what I could remember, it did have a orange taskbar.

I did not expect it to exactly like gui air which is why I used the word "little". And you're right, the gloss would be a little too much.

I'm grateful of all the effort that Capric0rn put in for this theme. It's a great theme.

The orange was just a suggestion.

If he doesn't want to work on it, I respect that. It's his theme, not mine.

^Thanks :) Orange just doesn't look good on this visual style IMO. And like I said, Olive will be the last color style for Watercolor Emico. I'm constantly getting bored of working on it because I just don't want to use it. It will be released this week though, so no worries there :)

Blue SE has a nice shade of blue on the frames which makes it look less glossy. Also, It'll look more like the original Watercolor theme. I won't have a classic taskbar anymore because it's just to much work and it didn't look as good as the modern taskbar. I'm thinking about adding a substyle which has a userpicture in the start panel.

This is all the info about Blue SE that I'm giving, the rest is going to be a surprise

@Capric0rn:

I was wondering if you ever experimented having the scroll bars (in the black style) black or a much darker shade of Grey. Two reasons I thought of this: The Blue style has the scroll bars in Blue, so should the Black style have them in Black? :shifty: Second reason: sometimes I find it hard to spot the Grey scroll bar quickly unlike the nice blue one.

^The thought about updating black didn't even cross my mind :p The reason why you can't see the scrollbars at some times is the same reason as why some people can't read the clock on the silver style. You're either using an LCD screen or the wrong monitor settings. If you can't see the scrollbars in the current black you'd probably wont see them in Blue SE either.

The blue scrollbars are the same scrollbars as black with a blue color overlay. Same count's for the olive scrollbars, they have a green overlay on the scrollbars. Making the scrollbars in the black style darker won't look good imo either. They are as dark as possible imo. Also, if you open the blue scrollbars and put a "Black/White" layer over it you'll simply get the same scrollbars as the ones that are in Black right now.

@kvaughan: Lol :p

I can see the scroll bars ok, but some times I find I can't spot them quickly out of the corner of my eye. The blue pops out alot more for me, probably something to do with my eyes :pinch: . But your right I tried darkening them and they do look a bit weird. I'll stick with blue for now I think.

Well.. I can't spot them either from the corner of my eye. It doesn't stop me from using it though :p It's true that the blue pops out more but there's not much one can do with scrollbars in a monochrome-ish skin. If this stops you from using Black, then it will probably also stop you from using Blue SE :p

Every time this thread keeps getting bumped, I think you released something. :(

I get that too :p .

    • WhatsApp slams Isreali firm, NSO Group, for trying to spy on its users by David Uzondu WhatsApp has come out accusing Israeli cyber-intelligence firm, NSO Group, of deploying a fresh wave of highly targeted "spear phishing" attacks against users, which its security teams successfully thwarted. The Israeli firm, according to WhatsApp, ran this operation like its usual one-click phishing campaigns, trying to get people to click malicious links that lead them to external sites. To coordinate the campaign, the spyware vendor created fake test accounts and groups on the messaging app. WhatsApp said it is sharing the specific malicious domains, ikhwancast[.]com, ghazacast[.]com, and fr24cast[.]com, because potential victims need this data to check if they were targeted across other messaging systems or email platforms. The NSO Group is infamous for creating and selling Pegasus, a military-grade commercial spyware capable of silently compromising smartphones simply by sending a message or placing a missed call via apps like WhatsApp or iMessage. Users do not even have to interact with the incoming notification before the infection takes hold. Once Pegasus manages to break in, the spyware harvests private data, letting operators read private messages, emails, photos, and documents. It also tracks precise GPS locations, records keystrokes, activates the device's camera, and monitors live microphone audio. Independent investigations by cybersecurity watchdogs like The Citizen Lab and human rights organizations like Amnesty International have proven that governments use this software to track humanitarian workers, journalists, diplomats, and political dissidents. These findings directly contradict NSO Group claims that clients use the technology to spy on criminals and terrorists only. In late 2021, the U.S. Department of Commerce added the firm to its Entity List, effectively banning the vendor from buying hardware and software from American tech companies. WhatsApp said in its blog post that the spyware vendor violated a permanent court injunction with this new spear-phishing campaign. This injunction, which took effect in 2025, strictly prohibited NSO Group from targeting WhatsApp and its users. The platform is now asking a federal court to hold the firm in contempt.
    • It would be surprising if even 3 year old Apple Watches (and not SE models at that) cannot run watchOS 27. Granted, it doesn't mean it would work as well. We'll see.
