Cara Veteran Posted June 16, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted June 16, 2008 Does this mean Inspector and HUD windows? No, those still cloak when Expose Activates. :) Just tested it. Cadium
I am glad to see that Apple is working hard on the latest Mac OS X 10.5 updates. I haven't had an issue with any of the updates and they would appear to improve the Mac experience, at least in my opinion. Smethead
Issues fixed in previous seeds:- LEAP connection in Airport 802.1x What exactly does this mean? Since the 10.5.3 release I've had trouble reconnecting with my wireless access points. I have one on the ground floor of my house and one one the first floor. And if I close my macbook at the ground level and go upstairs and open it there, it takes about 2 minutes to connect. The same goes for the other way around. I have no problems if I keep the laptop running when changing floors. And I haven't had this with 10.5.2. It used to connect instantly. My access points are 802.11g and my macbook has 802.11n. Could that have something to do with it? I hope this gets fixed in 10.5.4. I hate to wait or my connection before I can do anything. .Neo
Hopefully this update will finally fix the Computer icon for the new 3.06 GHz iMac. I hate the fact the OS seems to think I'm on a 17-inch iMac with iSight. The occasional hang on shutdown is pretty annoying as well. Usually point releases add new icons, so it sounds like it will. I believe .3 added iPhone and iPod touch icons. Well v10.5.3 didn't fix this issue and the necessary icon file is already there. Mac OS X just uses the wrong file to correspond with this particular iMac model. .Neo
I already did before v10.5.3 came out. It's not a huge issue, I know, but it just looks stupid. :p Edited June 24, 2008 by .Neo Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/641459-mac-os-1054-build-notes/page/3/#findComment-589506995 Share on other sites

Cara Veteran Posted June 24, 2008 Author Veteran Share Posted June 24, 2008 No known issues. Should be soon.. I am thinking these builds are simply to introduce some form of Mobile Me / iPhone3 compatibility because I have not felt a change in the way anything works or performs since the first 10.5.4 build. 1759
I'm hoping for the shutdown fix soon too, although I wish Apple would just push it out, and not have to package it in a point update. :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/641459-mac-os-1054-build-notes/page/3/#findComment-589507366 Share on other sites

Fusion
This release is moving fast, wonder what gives? My guess is the main parts of the release is compatibility with all the MobileMe / iPhone 2.0 stuff. The bug fixes are just icing in an already scheduled release. Blackice
Any info on the supported cameras? I'm going to buy a PowerShot G9, but may reconsider in favour of a Panasonic FZ18 if it gets RAW support. The PS G9 has tethering problems with Aperture as well. Any news on whether that's been fixed? I'm not sure if it's an OS or Aperture problem (probably the latter, now I think about it) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/641459-mac-os-1054-build-notes/page/3/#findComment-589513251 Share on other sites
giga Veteran Posted June 26, 2008 Veteran Share Posted June 26, 2008 Use EOS Utility for tethered shooting. Tethering isn't supported by Aperture on the G9 afaik. Curious though--why the G9? You can get a DSLR at that price. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/641459-mac-os-1054-build-notes/page/3/#findComment-589513265 Share on other sites
Blackice
I like the excellent picture quality and compact size of the G9. A quick google search revealed an unsupported and problematic tethering mode for the G9. It's in support-limbo, from what I've read.
