Intel Processors Overclock Database

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I guess we'll just leave them there for now. I should've made a note on the first post about it though *doh* guess it just seemed like it would be obvious that people should differentiate between the two. I'll make the adjustment now.

Yeah, but I was wondering what are the signs that you need to. Anyways, I just had to RMA 2GB of RAM today that was giving errors in memtest at stock speeds (it was my 1 week old 2GB kit), so here is my overclock with only 2GB of RAM :(

Differences are highlighted in bold.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 @ 3 GHz

D Stepping

1.424 V-Core (idle w/ CPU-Z)

Stock Intel Box Cooler (Air)

Gigabyte P35-DS3L Rev. 2.0 With F8F Bios

Windows Vista Business x64

Kingston KVR667D2K2/2GR (2GB of RAM)

RAM is 667MHz (PC2 5300) RAM (at stock speed)

The stock latencies are 5-5-5-15, but I have them running at 5-4-4-7 at 819MHz

I'm going to buy a new CPU cooler here very soon because it's getting in the high 60's Celsius after a couple hours in orthos. Any recommendations?

Sent a PM your way as I don't want to derail this thread and turn it into a "what HSF to buy thread" :p

I've updated the thread with your newest info. Just send a PM to gwai lo or I when you get your other 2GB of RAM back.

I'm going to play with the voltage and memory latencies when I get a chance. This MB is interesting in the fact it has a FSB jumper on the MB. 200, 266 and 333 are your choices, and right now mine set at 266 MHz, although you can overclock in the BIOS. I'm thinking about changing the bootstrap to 333 MHz and trying to clock it to 3.6 GHz.

One more thing; I don't have or use Prime 95. This computer is under 100% load 24/7 and has been for almost 3 months now. I run BOINC for the World Community Grid. It's stable.

I think you're the first database entry on 965 the chipset. :p

I think you will have to include a new column for me in a couple of weeks because I think I will be the first with the P45 chipset. That is if I go and take the plunge and get the P5Q Pro over the P5K-E. :p

E7200... very nice little chip. Doesn't need much voltage to reach 3.8GHz. I've had it stable in Windows at 1.296v, but the board won't cold boot that way, so I have to overvolt it to 1.32v.

E7200 @ 3.8GHz (400x9.5) / 1.32v

RAM: G.Skill F2-6400CL5-1GBNQ / 5-5-5-15 / 1:1 / 1.9v

lol yeap cause i happy enough with what i achieved with this mobo

i am waiting for Nahalem , X58 as my next upgrade early next year . and intel laurbee card if it turn out be great  if not i will see who

nvdia 360GT/ATI 5870 offering

it will be hell of beast system

=P

Make sure you push it to it's limit. I want to see how that chipset overclocks :p

Well I've been talking with Gwai and he also suggested a 9550 once they get a price drop (replacing the 9450) at the end of the month, which sports a 8.5 multiplier over the 9450's 8. That thing will definitely get pushed!

it gonna cost 500$+ about same price of Q9550 now

that why Q9550 will get price cut in anticipation of Q9650 release , ok ?

and oh srry to sound like screaming and %&%^* in the last post but it is the harsh reality :$

So even if I'm going to do a decent amount of overclocking, you are trying to tell me to spend at least $200 more than what the Q9550 is going to be priced at $300? I'm sorry but I'm not going to spend that much for one part of my PC.

That's quite the price premium for the extra 0.5, but then again people consider the VelociRaptor as great bang for buck.

Why not just get a Q6600? It'll be 203 (read more than half of the Q9650) and it has a 9x multiplier.

I thought you were trying to convince me to get the Q9450 and then the Q9550 originally. :p

What do you mean by "read more than half" and also 203? I really wanted to go with the 45nm tech and bypass the Q6600 altogether. As I said I'm going to do some decent overclocking but nothing hard core.

Example maybe push the Q9450 or the Q9550 to at least 3.2-3.5ghz area.

I also forgot to quote because that wasn't directed at you because I don't think paying the extra money for a Q9650 is going to be worth it for you.

Ah, thank you for smoothing out the confusion. Like I said, when the Q9550 replaces the Q9450 and is put at the $300 price point, even if it does have .5 less of a multiplier than the Q6600, its still a great 45nm buy.
