Battlefield Bad Company

Ha I was actually joking about playing Halo 3. I thought everyone hated it here apart from Magik, Stifler & myself lol.

Sorry to tell you Michael, but yeah the match making is still the same. They won't ever change it, at least not in Halo 3's life time.

Yeah I wouldn't mind if we played some team oriented games like bombs, flags and maybe slayer now and again.

As long as whatever we switch to has large maps and a good lobby / match making system. Doesn't even need to be on the 360, we could play something on the PC or PS3.

Yeah, I really don't care what we play either - I just want a game with the ability to create large rooms / squads and something worth playing. But Halo 3 isn't a bad idea, joke or not. Plenty of people have the game and we can all play, plus it's a lot of fun.

For PC I can only think of a select few Steam titles.

I just don't think its anything special and not an awful lot to do I guess. Sounds weird I know cause BF BC is the same in so many ways, but I just don't buy into the hype of COD4 like others do.

On another note, AJ and I are on BF if anyone wants to join.

@ Massive, I have it on 360 also (Y)

Okay, I changed my mind. After playing with Larry and AJ tonight, I realized I really like conquest mode, even though it's nothing like the PC version (never played it, just what I heard). Some games lasted about half an hour, and the end of the line map was unbelievable. So glad we played with both teams knowing how to play the game. Fun game tonight guys. awesome.

That's what I've found as well. You get in a match with players who know what to do (not saying you have to be good at it but just try) then it's fun as hell. I actually don't mind the 10-15 minute games because if it is played right there's a ton of action going on anyway.

Think I might use CoD4 along with Madden 08 as trade-in for Madden 09 :) BC is becoming a favorite.

I guess I won't be playing with you guys anymore if you are all making the switch to Conquest mode. What I played wasn't fun at all, just a broken tacked on mode :( (N) I can't believe they screwed it up so bad after what, 5 games in the series? I've no idea what they were thinking removing it in the first place, nevermind rushing it out in the state it is.

See you in Battlefield 3 with the real Conquest mode (I hope!) (Y)

^ go get some sleep, it's turned 5am you loon, erm wait, umm :p

I'm sure people will still play. Hell, I'm just now starting to put quality time into the game. And there's no reason why DICE/EA can't make adjustments. The mistake I think they made with BC is not coming out with Conquest sooner. People played the hell out of Gold Rush because it was the only mode, so if you don't like Conquest it is kind of tough to want to go back to Gold Rush. That's just my opinion, though.

I've never played TF2 but I won't go anywhere near Halo 3. If TF2 gets the love here I will get it and get rid of CoD4 (I've wanted to get The Orange Box anyway).

edit: just watched some TF2 vids on youtube. WTF is that?! LOL. Looks complicated as all hell. Maybe it was the mode the guy was playing but I saw wrenches and building sentry units and whatever else...enlighten me, please? :)

    • Apple CEO Tim Cook confirms looming price hikes due to memory shortages by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple Memory and chip shortages have led to significant price increases for electronics over the past year, and it seems that more hikes are on the way for upcoming smartphones and computers. Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company is planning to increase the prices of some of its products due to the ongoing memory and storage shortages. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cook confirmed the looming price hikes for Apple’s future products, adding that “Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable.” He also said the company is doing its best to “mitigate the huge increases that are being passed to us, and we’ve been trying to shield our customers from the increases, but the situation has become unsustainable.” The Apple CEO also noted that the allocation of a large portion of memory chips to AI companies has contributed to shortages in the market, resulting in lower supply at a time when demand for devices remains high. “We definitely need memory pricing and supply to return to reasonable levels for consumer products. That’s the bottom line,” Cook said. Cook also added that Apple is ready to use its vast cash reserves to help boost supply in the market because additional production capacity is needed. While he declined to specify how Apple plans to do that, he said the company will not build its own memory and storage factories despite its financial resources and silicon expertise. Cook did not provide further details on the scale of the price increases or which Apple products would be affected, though iPads and Macs could see higher prices sooner than other products. Apple’s next product launch event is scheduled for September, when the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone. It remains unclear whether the upcoming iPhones will be affected by the price increases, but given the current memory shortage, higher prices seem increasingly likely. There is currently no clear timeline for the end of the memory shortage. Samsung, one of the world’s three largest memory chip manufacturers, recently said the shortage could persist for several more years.

    • +1000 to this, don't understand why they added that margin around the top bar, even the close button is a PITA to click without aiming. Ofc, this is just preview and hopefully they will revert such odd UX decision before hitting final version.
