jim-phelps: What ram are you running on that EeePC - and how is XP on it?

Thanks

I bought an Eee PC 1000H with 1GB RAM & preinstalled XP Home (now: XP Professional & Ubuntu). Windows and Linux run both pretty fast on this little thing, I have no complaints :-)

Designated corner? :D Good choice in router though! hope it's running Tomato/HyperWRT/DD !

I have new speakers now!

Haha, yah, it's a temporary place though. I will be in my new apartment in a couple of weeks, which will be a lot nicer :)

The router has always treated me right! It's currently running DD-WRT and has been up for nearly a month, no reboots. Love it. Nice setup, really clean, what monitor is that?

I see some nice setups here, good to see what other people have. Now it's my turn, time to show off my new rig (spec are in my signature). My new rig just arrived on Thursday and I am so far impressed! very nice! This new rig is now for all of my computing use, so it's my main, you name it from developing, gaming, multimedia, work and etc.

I have to make the pictures as you saw, I want to put it altogether, let me know if you want higher resolution :D

My old PC the one which you will see on the 4th line of the last picture is now for my backup PC. My laptop which you see is for work and entertainment. I also have another PC strictly for testing purpose.

For portable drive I have Seagate My Book 250 GB which is attached to my laptop and Western Digital Free Agent 1TB which is attached to my main PC. Other peripheral including Belkin 7 Port USB, Microsoft Natural Multimedia, Logitech MX Revolution, Logitech VX Revolution, Logitech standard keyboard, Logitech Quick Cam and other stuff.

Without further ado here are the pictures.

Thanks :D

My temporary setup while my brother invades my room for the weekend...

Cords are a bit messy as usual, but I don't care :p

Laptop, Xbox 360 (just got the DriveFX wheel!), iMac, and my iPod Touch just underneath the center screen for bandwidth monitoring

    • I gave up on browser ad-blocking extensions a few years ago, replaced them with Adguard. Not perfect but overhaul is a nice app that does the job on both Windows and Android with the respective versions.

    • "Of course the easiest solution is to switch to uBlock Origin Lite if you want to remain on Chrome, as it is MV3-based, but from our experience, uBO Lite does not seem to be as good as the original non-Lite version" In my experience uBlock Origin Lite does the job for normal everday home users. When they kill that we get to watch Firefox and Brave get a boost in user market share.
    • Block by DNS ad blocker! I dare you! I will even layer unlock Origin, on top of my internal DNS, if I need to and I don’t even block ads today (I really should but this type of behavior makes me angry). I suppose I could also just be lazy, and add the flags myself, back to each release (it wouldn’t be that difficult).
    • Wonder what MPs have ties to these privacy/verification/data harvesting companies that are going to step in this time. Last time under the Tories half the cabinet had fingers in the pies, heck even the PM and his wife at the time was working for silicon valley, probably made a fortune.
