Does TF2 have one of those trial deals like all of the other Valve games?

Not sure how it works as I have never done it, but definitely have heard of it on other games.

So if it does have that, can someone send me a trial invite?

I just built my first new gaming PC in over 3 years, and I am pretty sure I am going to buy this anyway, but of course it would not hurt to check it out first just to make super sure.

Just wait for the trial weekend, although you won't get a real feel for the game just after the scout update is released since most of the servers will be 12 scouts vs 12 scouts ;)

Which is going to be awesome! :rofl:

There should be another free weekend due relatively soon though I think. A while back Valve made the game half price too, but I don't think they'll do that again

Haha yeah and on public servers too. I tend not to go on achievement servers. Did it once for the medic update and it skewed my scores :(

I've been onto an achievement place and it didn't mess with my scores/stats. But then again, valves stat system sucks and doesn't remember 90% of what i do anyway so maybe that's why.

Thanks all for the replies. I figured it might be hard and all of the trials would be gone.

Will keep my eye out for another free weekend, and if it does come up, if someone who plays it often knows and wants to send me a heads up PM when the free weekend comes, that would be extremely appreciated.

They haven't had one a while IIRC, so there will likely be one when the scout update comes out.

Once I am done playing Crysis, I very well may just buy The Orange Box so I get TF2 and also Portal. I know I like both games. Just also keeping in mind Killzone comes out soon, so do not have a whole lot of time for gaming.

But I think I understand correctly, and Portal for the PC has a ton of other maps as opposed to the console version correct? (I never did check out the additonal pack on the 360). Sorry to go OT slightly, but if Portal has more maps on the PC, the I definitely will just get the Orange Box so I get both Portal and TF2.

It sure does. The arcade expansion of Portal, which you pay for, has been free (and around) for quite some time, not to mention it's far easier to play it with a keyboard and mouse as opposed to a controller. I tried doing a few challenges on the 360, and there's just no way.

Even though I had it for the 360, I went ahead and purchased The Orange Box so I could have Portal and TF2. They were each $20, so for just $30 I got them both, plus figured I could always go back and play Episode 2 on a PC, the way it was meant to be played. ;)

TF2 on the 360 isn't that bad, it's just that it lacks updates, which have made it far better than when it was originally released.

TF2 on consoles is ass, do not try to convince anyone otherwise :p

Laggy, no content updates, smaller servers, [it's 8v8 I believe, or maybe 12v12], matchmaking instead of server lists, no dedicated servers.... I could go on.

This game was made to be played on the PC, nothing else ;)

      I can't believe Starmer is still there...his party lost so big. He's a stubborn coot, but this is largely unenforceable, so I would imagine he'll be resigning soon. Announced today as EA Advertising, the new platform is attempting to make it easier for brands to reach out for deals with the company and put their products inside titles like EA Sports FC, Madden, NHL, Skate, or The Sims. EA revealed that its EA Sports side of the company brings in "hundreds of millions of players across console, PC, and mobile" every year. Fan engagement of these titles was also touted as being "extraordinary," with 23,000 NFL seasons worth of games being played in Madden NFL daily, while EA Sports FC sees over a billion matches a day. “Players come to EA’s games and live experiences every day to play, watch, create and connect,” said David Tinson, Chief Experiences Officer at Electronic Arts. “That gives brands a meaningful opportunity to show up in ways that add value and respect the player experience, while maintaining authenticity in the worlds our teams are building. Starmer said that this technology is making children unhappy and making it easier for bullies to harass and abuse them. He continued to talk about the addictive nature of social media, saying that it uses an infinite scroll designed to lock users in for hours. He said this interferes with children doing their homework, reading, playing with friends outside, and going to bed on time.
