5 hours of play since the update and i still haven't gotten 1 NEW weapon yet. This update is getting dull really quick.

Also had some weird graphic bug i've never seen before the update. An invisible demoman who's model didn't appear till he died.

Every update breaks something. And they still haven't fixed the damn Kritz sound loop. *frown* I'm actually going back to TFC where it was fun. At least i can kill people with the dispenser and EMP grenades :p

Well, after 5 hours of playing, i only got 3 unlocks. I got 2 weapons I already had, then , I got the DEMOMAN FRO! its pimp lookin, but really, I thought something was up with how slow the drops where. No one else during the 5 hours found any hats, and there was probably around 10 wep drops total.

definately seeing tons of glitches.. and everyone else experiencing some horrible server lag now? I mean on all servers not anyone in particular.

btw was fun earlier, had a sniper on the other team who was glitched to look like a heavy...Talk about easy target haha

Random weapons ARE the real way.....you cannot unlock spy or sniper weapons through achievements.

EDIT: Which means for those of us experiencing the bug of no unlocks after even hours of play, we are not able to get the new weapons.

Yeah, I realized that as I was playing. I guess it's alright. It'll be even better once Valve makes the weapon finds more common. The game is quite glitchy. A lot of classes look like different classes. For example, you'll see a Soldier with a sniper rifle or a Scout with a flamethrower. Also, I played for nearly 5 hours and I only found two weapons (one of which I already had). Anyway, I thought this was funny:

I noticed a decrease in FPS on this game as well due to the patch. It is still playable, but there are moments now where it will stutter just a bit where it never did.

How rare are the weps drops and hat drops? I've seen some people who look like they have all the new unlocks, and I still have only a hat lol. And does this mean I should just find a server to AFK in for a bit? lol

The new system doesn't seem to be working as properly as it should. I played for about 5 hours and only found two new weapons. The first one was the Bonk! energy drink, and the second one was the Backburner. I found the first weapon within 30 seconds of joining the server. After 2-3 hours of play, I found the Backburner. I played for a couple of more hours hoping to find a third weapon. Eventually, I was bored ? 5 hours oTeam Fortress 2i> can really tire you out.

I think Valve should make it so that you find a weapon for every hour of game play. Their current system seems too random. I've been to servers where people were playing for 8 hours straight only to unlock a measly Sandvich or Kritzkrieg. In the same servers, people find weapons as soon as they join. And they don't find any regular weapons, they find the new ones. I'm talking about the Dead Ringer, the Jarate, and the Razorback.

This new update was cool but it made the game so buggy. I'm experiencing bizarre performance issues. All of a sudden my ping would jump to 600 or my FPS would drop for no reason at all. And I won't even go into the glitchy player models. Perhaps it would've been worth it to wait a day or two. Maybe Valve would've ironed out the bugs.

The game is quite glitchy. A lot of classes look like different classes. For example, you'll see a Soldier with a sniper rifle or a Scout with a flamethrower.

I think that glitch only happens on servers with class limits. The way I have heard of it being exploited has only involved hitting the class limit and doing a few other things.

As for weapon drops, I finally received my first weapon today.....The Blutsauger........4+ hours of play for a weapon I already had.....

I wouldn't have had a problem getting an old unlock if it was say, the Ubersaw, which I don't have because I don't play medic enough to get the achievements, but would like to have for when I do play medic.

according to the official TF2 blog we keep getting items we already have so we can trade in a soon to come feature...

Sadly i played for 3 hours after work and unlocked nothing, i think 3/4 items were unlocked on the entire server ? :s

tbh even if its not a "Unlock via achievement" system then some sort of points system might work ? Every class you gain levels and stuff, 5 points per kill... 500 points for class item #1, 1500 points for class item #2 etc

or what about leveling up the items... start with level 1 items (default weps) and then more kills = stronger weapons. (e.g. force of nature is a "level 5 scattergun")

Trading system? I'm not sure I like that direction.

Why not? That's the whole point of being able to find duplicate weapons. I already have an extra Backburner. I'd gladly trade it for anything I don't have which includes all the new unlockables, plus the Sandman. It's a good system but it might turn Team Fortress 2 into a RPG-esque game. I could see it already: "3 Nataschas WTT for 3 Force-A-Natures." (WTT = Willing to Trade).

Anyway, check this out:

Because when was trading ever an integral part of the game? This is introducing complications in a game that is grounded in simplicity.

True. It just makes the game more complicated than it already is. The game was much simpler when it was first released, that's for sure.

Also true. Almost all changes that they have made, I've always found that they've improved the game (alternate weapons could be pushing it). I could be wrong and a trading system may make the game better, I just not optimistic about that.

Someone on our server got 8 ubersaws :D

I found the ambassador and jarate yesterday within about 7 hours (a few of them idling) and then I idled over night and got the cloak and dagger and also a flaregun.

Just wait until they fix the bugs, then judge it, hopefully the drops will be more often and therefore less annoying. I didn't get anything within my first 3 hours of gameplay, so I know how annoying it is for some people at the moment (Especially the people you have unlocked old weapons about 10 times :p).

    • Ninja Theory was great until Microsoft acquired them. They let them spend a decade on two games, with a third on the way, that explore mental health and were OK interactive experiences. Sony appears to be able to choose better IPs to develop, particularly single player. I'm probably going to buy a PS5 just for Wolverine and God of War Laufey (which reminds me of Heavenly Sword when Ninja Theory was with Sony making games).
    • Good riddance to a terrible studio. They've done nothing but over promise features and fall flat with the releases they've put out.
    • hey buddy, i don't appreciate the attitude. Can't wait to see the results.
