So, with the stuff I was talking about earlier. I was waiting on a few item drops and must have hit my cap for the week, but anyway some guy on a server gave me a Scrap Metal for free, which was nice. And I crafted a Professional's Panama! :D

All is well.

Nice, that's one of the better Sniper hats (and I must say, I've changed my stance on the Trophy Belt since the new paint tint maps were released)

And yeah, there's a limit or around 20 items a week (Which you can hit in a day due to the way they changed how often drops are given, which is better)

The limit is actually around 12 items, but the limit can also carry over from previous weeks. So if you don't play for a week, you could get 20 or so items in the following week.

That would make sense, one night idling got me 20 items, but I hadn't played for a few weeks before that.

Yeah, the most I got was 30 items over a few days of idling, but that was after not playing for a few weeks, but the normal if you play ever day is around 10-12 a week before the drops stop.

Yeah, interestingly the Trophy Belt has become more popular, at first it was regarded as one of the worst hats as it was only a different belt on the Sniper's current hat. But it seems to be more popular now, the Bucket Hat seems to be the least popular.

First, Thanks for the info on the tf2 wiki, I thought that was the website they bought. It's good to know.

Second, logged on today, and ... 10 minutes later, got myself another festive Christmas crate.

Now if my wish could come true that it's a 100% unusual drop of your choice item.

Does anyone know how to enable raw mouse input in TF2? The option seems to be greyed out for me. Using OS X here.

Hmmm....might be something enabled only in Windows? Can't imagine why since raw input should get input from the mouse regardless of OS, but I am running Windows and it is enabled and works fine here...

Apparently it's possible on OS X as well, but it's messy (You have to intercept low level system events, and you can only do that as the root user)

Windows on the other hand offers a normal API for it, so any app can do it easily there.

Yeah, I just looked it up, raw input doesn't work properly on the Mac (like you said it's difficult and messy to implement) so the option is disabled. You can always try setting "m_rawinput 1" in the console and seeing if that does anything, but don't expect it to work properly.

In case anyone missed it, they updated yesterday:

  • Added Medieval Mode, a game mode where players are restricted to using olde weapons.
  • 'Your Eternal Reward' changes:
  • Spies can now change their disguise weapon via 'lastdiguise' while using 'Your Eternal Reward'
  • Already-disguised 'Your Eternal Reward' Spies are no longer forced to switch to displaying the melee weapon when they make a kill
  • Spies no longer play speech lines when making a kill with 'Your Eternal Reward'
  • Sentries no longer track 'Your Eternal Reward' Spies after they backstab someone
  • 'Natascha' changes:
    • Spin-up time increased.
    • Slowdown-on-hit effect is reduced over distance.

[*]Added 'The Medi-eval Medic', 'The Hibernating Bear', and 'The Expert's Ordnance' item sets.

[*]Added new weapons: 'The Claidheamohmor', 'The Back Scratcher', 'The Boston Basher', 'The Fists of Steel', 'The Amputator', 'The Crusader's Crossbow', 'The Ullapool Caber', 'The Loch-n-Load', 'The Buffalo Steak Sandvich', 'The Brass Beast', 'The Warrior's Spirit', 'The Candy Cane', and 'The Jag'.

    [*]Added 20 new hats.

[*]Added a prototype item testing map, and associated functionality, for contributors to test their work. Further details in an upcoming blog post.

[*]Spies can now see TargetID's of players and objects regardless of their own disguise status.

[*]Fixed some speech lines continuing after the speaker changes class

[*]The Spy 'Sap Auteur' achievement now increments in cases where the Spy was the assister in the building destruction.

[*]Fixed the arrow burning effect getting stuck on if you changed class in a respawn room with your arrow lit.

[*]Fixed a Flamethrower bug that allowed players to rapidly fake the Pyro's airblast effect.

[*]Throwing the Jarate or Milk now returns you to your previous weapon, instead of your Primary.

[*]Added leaderboard to track duel wins.

[*]Added ability for players to donate money directly to the creators of their favorite community maps.

[*]Increased backpack size by 100 slots.

Quite a massive update :o

    • Sandboxie Plus 1.17.8 / Classic 5.72.8 by Razvan Serea Run programs in a sandbox to prevent malware from making permanent changes to your PC. Sandboxie allows you to run your browser, or any other program, so that all changes that result from the usage are kept in a sandbox environment, which can then be deleted later. Sandboxie is a sandbox-based isolation software for 32- and 64-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It is being developed by David Xanatos since it became open source, before that it was developed by Sophos (which acquired it from Invincea, which acquired it earlier from the original author Ronen Tzur). It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web surfing. Sandboxie is available in two flavors Plus and Classic. Both have the same core components, this means they have the same level of security and compatibility. What's different is the user interface the Plus build has a modern Qt based UI which supports all new features that have been added since the project went open source. The Classic build has the old no longer developed MFC based UI, hence it lacks support for modern features, these features can however still be used when manually configured in the Sandboxie.ini. Sandboxie Plus 1.17.8 / Classic 5.72.8 release notes: Added added DisableCustomTitleOpt=[process,][y|n] to allow [#] sandboxie title markers on custom-titlebar windows (Delphi VCL, Qt, Electron) that were previously skipped to prevent DWM repaint CPU loops #5387 Changed updated bundled ImDisk driver to 3.0.2 #5419 Fixed fix Suppress logs for expected non-user SIDs #5422 SbieSvc.exe: SBIE2218/2219 error when run program as administrator #5417 fixed explorer.exe crashes in Application Compartment when Huorong Security is installed #5423 Download: Sandboxie Plus (64-bit) | 23.5 MB (Open Source) Download: Sandboxie Classic (64-bit) | 3.0 MB Links: Sandboxie Website | GitHub | ARM64 | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • Hello, Christian Maas' XVI32 is a nice (and very small) hex editor. Speaking of hex editors, many years ago a colleague and I who both worked at Tribal Voice managed to edit a copy of the company's PowWow instant messaging client to make it behave better now that all of its lookup servers and other server-side tech was gone.  The program didn't support NAT (RFC-3022 was introduced in January 2001, the same time Tribal Voice was shuttered), but it still worked okay if you manually set up port-forwarding on your router.  The server at http://powwow.jazy.net/ hosts a copy (usual warnings about downloading and running untrusted code from random internet servers apply). I occasionally use some tools like Funduc Software's Search and Replace and Application Mover when I need to make mass-edits to text-based files or move programs with a hard-coded installation directories, respectively.  When I need to figure out the exact LCD panel inside of a laptop, EnTech Taiwan's Monitor Asset Manager is my go-to tool for that purpose. JD Design's website (now hosted on github.io) has a number of interesting freeware and shareware utilities.  I used to use their TouchPro utility to set the file timestamps on software I was mastering to match its version number (e.g., version 3.00 of a program had all of its files dates set to 3:00AM, and so forth). Karenware has a number of interesting freeware utilities, too. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • I still use HexChat! Not really as ancient as the 1994 AutoCAD above my post, but I have never found anything better to replace it. Yes we still operate an IRC server https://www.neowin.net/irc/ 😛
    • At work we still have a couple of people that use a version of AutoCAD LT purchased in 1994. This predates Windows 95 and works fine on versions of Windows up to XP. Its long since run in an locked down isolated XP VM, accessible via RDP. I did install LibreCAD for them, however they said it was just too different to get to grips with. In all fairness one of them is now 75 and the other is almost 60.
