Sometimes the item backend can be delayed, and occasionally is offline for maintenance/etc.

Could you provide a link to you Steam community profile?

That's true also, but on the plus side if the system is down when you get a milestone you will get that item for the milestone once the system comes back online.

That seems to be the case, actually. When I booted up TF2 last night, I had a 'new item' notice, and the Equalizer was in my backback.

All is well.

Good to hear....I had the same issue when the WAR update (soldier and demo) went live, as soldier is one of my main classes, it was pretty annoying that I couldn't get any unlocks for him.

Behavior can be really inconsistant at times, items not assigning themselves despite having "dropped" or items just plain not dropping at all; good to hear you got your item. If it happens again you can use one of the handful of web-based backpack viewers to see if your item is in your new/unassigned queue. In extreme cases, Steam Support will sort out will sort the problem out for you.

For example, this is the current state of my backpack: http://tf2b.com/athernar

Replace "athernar" with your id/profile number that shows up in your Steam community URL to view your own.

That's mental

No, that's what happens when your enemy is oblivious.....Someone should have saw him flying through the air, and people should have heard the death screams behind them......the only one who noticed the guy was the soldier in front AFTER his medic got killed (well, others did notice him and turn around, but they didn't see him or fire back)...

Even so, it's still an epic run.

Epic video. No denying it would take some luck and a bit of a dosey team to pull it off, but he executed it pretty well :p

Yeah, I have done similar feats with the equalizer (had an awesome one back before the damage was nerfed, killed half the team and made it back alive to my own team on a KotH map). He had well aimed nades, I'll give him that, but first blood crits combined with him taking advantage of the sticky jumper to take no damage from his 1-hit kill weapon made it pretty easy for him to take advantage of an unaware team.

good, that 100% increase was ridiculous. The last time i played on a beta server I went 4 whole rounds without even being killed once.

Yeah and I've already wasted a lot. Crafted a random hat (3 refined metal), and I got a wig, for a class I never play which is Spy. If I'm not mistaken that cost me 54 weapons. I also can't trade it, because one of the weapons I used was not tradable. Pretty damn crappy that the whole concoction then becomes untradeable.

I really need to get into this crafting and trading system.

You could probably still sell it using Gift Wrap, but you have to buy it from the shop.

Eh, I must be the only one to like the Loch and Load. It has its uses, and can be very effective. I guess you're just trying to use it like the Grenade Launcher and aren't actually trying to lead your targets. They both launch a little to the right of the viewmodel, so if you can get that then it is quite easy to aim.

    • Linux 7.1 arrives with an NTFS overhaul and major hardware performance boosts by Paul Hill The founder of the Linux kernel has just announced the availability of Linux 7.1. This is a stable version of the kernel that will now be tested by various Linux distributions before it is shipped to users through update managers. Some users, like those on Debian, for example, might not get it for a long time, if at all, while Fedora users can expect it in the near future. With Linux 7.1 out on time, the merge window for Linux 7.2 is now open, giving contributors the opportunity to send in major new features that have been waiting for the last two months. Torvalds warned that he is currently travelling and will be in another timezone, so timing for the merge window may be irregular due to timezone differences and limited internet access. Torvalds said that he has already fetched early pull requests to allow him to do some offline work, but the travel could still cause disruption. Right now, he is not planning to extend the release, but did consider it. He said he might later regret not extending, though. In terms of this last week of development for Linux 7.1, Torvalds said there were no major or alarming changes. This week consisted mostly of smaller driver updates to GPU, networking, and sound, networking fixes, trace tooling fixes, and misc minor fixes. The shortlog this week lists fixes for driver bugs, memory leaks, I/O and USB fixes, networking and RDMA fixes, DRM/graphics fixes, and tooling and verification improvements. Specific fixes include USB series heap-overflow and buffer overflow fixes, and multiple use-after-free, memory-leak, and refcount corrections across subsystems such as i2c, zram, gpio, and net. There are fixes for graphics drivers, including amdgpu, i915, and virtio, as well as hypervisor and virtualization tweaks affecting mshv, vmbus, and hyperv. According to Phoronix, anyone running Linux 7.1 should look out for the new NTFS driver, Intel FRED for improved performance on Panther Lake and future CPUs, faster graphics with Intel Arc Battlemage, and improvements for older AMD Radeon GPUs. If you are running Linux on your computer and everything is fine, then you don’t need to worry about updating to Linux 7.1 as a priority; just wait for it to be pushed to you. If you have tried Linux on hardware but it didn’t work properly, trying again with a distro that uses Linux 7.1 could cause Linux to work on your machine, thanks to the new hardware support.
