Neowin Bi-weekly Photography Assignment 1: Light

Recommended Posts

Should we label it as part of the contest since it goes into the Neowin monthly thread?

Is tasteful (subjective) nudity allowed for this contest even though it not for the main photo thread?

I do hope this is taken seriously and several people contribute. Neowin needs a more active photo-group. Many people submit to the monthy thread but thread like this help people evolve and learn from others.

Unfortunately any form of nudity isn't allowed on Neowin, artistic or otherwise. I appreciate it limits a lot, it's a shame - but the user base cannot be guaranteed to be over 18, so no go!

I hope it's taken seriously too! I'm glad to see a good few more pictures.

Some amazing entries so far, guys!

In fact I have an entry of my own, Jared Leto of 30 Seconds To Mars singing and playing Capricorn on his own.

This is why I wait ages to claim front row :p

No where near as good as some of yours, but this was taken using only a basic digital camera, not long 'till i can afford my Canon :D

Voting Time!

Time to start casting your votes guys, this assignment won't work without some winners! Get voting and allow next weeks assignment to proceed.

You've got exactly 7 days till the deadline to get your vote in, after that your vote won't count! So get em' in!

To vote just PM me the person you find has the strongest image in the thread.

Thanks

My entry. I have the original somewhere, but htis is just the low res vers.

Edit: Oops, I just read the rest of the posts and pics taken before the competition are not allowed. Guess I can't enter with this then, but please comment regardless.

I can do that, but new entries might come in, so its slightly unfair

Wouldn't it be COMPLETELY unfair to vote now if people can still submit photos? If I vote now, and "bob" submits a truly awesome picture after I've voted, then I can't vote for him any more...

I agree.

Hmm, point taken.

Thing is, if this is to happen every 2 weeks, I'd like to give a full weeks notice to get your votes in, you can wait till a day prior if you so wish - but this is just a way to get everyone to make sure their entries are in early, and on time!

I'll think about other ways I can do this though.

why not make an early deadline and a final deadline for pics, the final deadline marking the end of the two weeks, and the early deadline marking the start of when the voting can begin. This way, anybody that has their pic in by the "real" (early) deadline has the advantage of having a fair vote for their photo.

    • WTF! Nah, not this one. If you were back then using computers in the 90s or you had a clue, you'd know this was huge and was seen and overused absolutely everywhere and you'd take this article as no more than a retrospective story. That's all it is.
    • these "editors" get paid by the amount of articles and not the quality of content; hence why we get this random stuff from the same "editor" time and time again.
    • 256 times the quality of an audio cd? I think audio cd's sound good so even twice as good as that would be something.
    • It’s not about the NOx. It’s about the electrical field.
