Killzone 2

Play the game on medium, enjoy the story and unlock the hardest difficulty, then play again and challenge yourself with the hardest one. That is what I do with FPS, even with those that have all difficulties unlocked. I don't want to start with the hardest one and get frustrated from the beginning, no fun in that.

I do the same, Play on either Easy/Medium difficulty depending on the game and generally take the story in without having to redo one section over and over, then go back on do it on the hardest setting for the challenge.

Why everyone keep making themes with the default icons? The game studios have artist that can create new icons for the themes. That theme with more sci-fi/Killzone style (in that 2D style) icons would have been better.

Yea, the worst thing about the themes is, as far as I know still, the stupid PSN network icon that still stands out like a sore thumb.

I believe they said that there wouldn't be any collectors editions so yeah I imagine just a fancy box :(

Would of liked to see some making of documenttry about it, especially all the hype it caused on first showing and how they felt with the CG backlash it received.

There's a 41 minute interview out there covering that pretty much :)

You watch it? It is subtitled though, as it was done in Dutch.

It seems Bravo [TV channel] is having a KZ2 Special at 11am on Sunday 1st of Feb.

Some new MP footage advertising it [looks like a clip from the show] - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8H_g72sOv4c&fmt=22

Should be a good watch, they're demoing MP stuff/bots/sentry building above.

Spain are selling the steel box, I'll get some prices [it was stated on NeoGAF prices were the same].

Game in Spain are only selling the metal tin box edition - http://game.es/ficha/ficha.aspx?SKU=053546

No price, but no other KZ2 options are available.

Also, the deal with resolutions

"Ok, this is the deal: If Killzone 2 detects a TV that is set to 1080p or 1080i and cannot switch to 720p (our preferred resolution, for if your TV supports it), then it will render in 960x1080 and horizontally scale that to 1080i/p.

The advantage of doing this (over rendering 720p and then upscaling it to 1080i/p) is that you don't have *any* vertical scaling, and analog TV's don't even have a horizontal resolution. The result is a much clearer picture with much less artifacts for those who have a 1080i/p only set.

Killzone's adviced resolution is 720p, we just made sure that if you have a 1080i/p only set, it looks much better than the 'naive' implementation of upscaling 720p"

Seb Downie - QA Manager - Guerrilla Games

interesting, i wonder how it will look on my 1080p plasma :)

Well it's going to run in 720p unless your plasma

a) Doesn't support 720p

or

b) You force 1080p

The main reason the above is in place is for those people with weird ass HDTVs that only support 1080i/p, but not 720p.

Yeah okay, the GAF is big and has it's fair share of idiots, but many developers and knowledgeable people post on it ;)

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. No login, no cloud, no account. Your files stay on your device.
