Killzone 2

Recommended Posts

I found the controls very refined - almost natural feel for me, but then again I played KILLZONE1 (when new) so perhaps that helps - lol

Problem for me, was no translated dialogue - hope it's just in this demo - SCEE games are great to play in different languages... like Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Rachet & Clank, etc.

?

On the startup of the demo, you can choose languages.

I heard that playing it in Russian kicks ass :p

Just to confirm the Killzone2 DEMO has a total of 13 languages (lucky, eh?). I've marked the ones with translated dialogue with a star ( * ). All have translated subtitles and on-screen instructions (of course)...

English*, French*, Italian*, German*, Spanish*, Dutch, Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Polish*, Swedish, Russian*

Just played it, twice, after a somewhat length download. It looks great, plays well, but as someone who very rarely (almost never) plays FPS games on console there's nothing from the demo that makes me want to rush out and buy it. I might be more tempted to pick it up later down the line when it's cheaper.

I found a simple way to get the rifle with full ammo. Keep hold of the rocket launcher from the bridge section (use your pistol in the mean time) then fire it at the vent on top of the warehouse office and it'll blow the guy right off before he can fire any shots. I ended up with 10 ammo in it. The headshots with it are fanastic, it's like shooting melons. Very satisfying! :D

When you finally complete the demo and Garza opens the door. If you just slightly poke around it you can shoot a few more Helghast too. :)

Just played the demo some more and for every minute I play, the more I love it. I genuinely hope they keep this 'slower' paced gameplay and focus on the gunfights in the multiplayer, we have too many of these ADHD hyper games where you just sprint around, jump jump and boom, headshot - We need some more tactical games.

This. In particular I'm loving the cover system. It makes the game a lot more tactical imo. I find my self running from cover to cover, rather than just running and gunning (like in COD4 for example). It makes for much more interesting fire fights.

It certainly does, also the reason why I'm so unsure at this point since the cover system won't be in multiplayer. So the pace of the game could go both ways :/

Again, we have classes able to set up turrets and we have tons of abilities focusing on teamwork, plus the sprinting feature is useless when you need to turn and it takes several shots to kill people - All this could turn into a cocktail where players are careful, take it slow and focus on camping.

It could definitely swing both ways, since we haven't really tested MP for ourselves

Well watch the beta videos on YT and you'll see people play it pretty fast paced. I don't think that will change.

Can't use videos for ****, I've seen fast paced games played as 'tactical' games in beta / developer videos and Vice-versa - So will definitely only be speculation until release.

Ok thats your opinion, but I've watched plenty of them in the past and people sprint and jump everywhere. Nobody uses cover anymore than say CoD4/5.

The videos are worth more than speculation at the end of the day, seeing as this is the public playing the beta and pretty much a representitive of how others will when released.

Apparently Edge gave a score of 7/10, thats less than FEAR2 which got 8/10, rofl.

Had a Bug/Glitch when playing the demo this morning. One of the main characters had gotten stuck under the ground and the next cut scene wouldn't play. Had to shoot him a few times in the head to get him to run away and unstick himself.
