How come? I think it's quite alright, I would however like the option of 'peeking' out instead of either being in cover or fully exposed.

You can peek out.

If you push the left analogue stick forward whilst holding the cover button you peek upwards - Or left/right if you push it that way.

I meant gradual peeking, so you aren't exposing all of your upper body to fire but just your head to have a look - Is that what you meant as well?

Ah right I understand you a bit more, like how the buttons are touch sensitive, if you moved the left stick slowly you'd rise up slowly. As I know when you are peeking out, you can be hit by bullets since you're exposed - At least your head/shoulders anyway.

You're still not fully exposed though, releasing the crouch button makes you that :p

It's like fully crouched - slightly covered [peeking] - fully exposed.

Shot of the bundle, it's the Australian game mind you. Goes on sale day of launch.

Partly to do with not being fully comfortable with the controller or the controls, but I would deffo like an option for fixed 'toggle' cover and 'toggle' crouch rather than press and hold!

I think that it is the view-point when you are in cover that just seems odd as well, and you can't zoom-aim whilst crouched into cover, you have to release the cover button; therefore fully exposing yourself!

Uhhh no you don't.

You can zoom whilst in cover.

Push & hold cover button, push left analogue forward/right/left, push the scope button.

As I said above, there is 3 levels of cover - Fully crouched and fully covered - Crouched slightly and partially covered [peeking mode, you can fire/zoom] - Standing up fully exposed.

When in fully covered mode, you can still throw grenades. If you push the zoom button nothing will happen, but if you push the fire button, you'll start firing in peek mode.

Yeah, yeah my bad, it's just really annoying that you can't toggle the crouch/cover, because doing that means you are holding four buttons down at the same time.

Using Alternate 2 controls

L2 for staying in cover,

L1 to zoom,

Left analogue,

trigger!

^

Yeah, that's why getting used to the default controls for the SP campaign is much better :p Feels much more organic using them because the button you click to zoom

is also the stick you use to aim.

By the way, unless you have zoom on toggle [by default this is off], you don't need to hold it down - You will stay in zoom until you push the button again.

Qatar of all places are selling the game early...

Seb has been quick to reply on MP

If you indeed did buy a copy already you wont be able to play online yet as the servers have not been deployed.

Seb Downie - QA Manager - Guerrilla Games

Will probably be up on the 25th or so. Will see at the time.

I hate click to zoom thou, you can never turn it off quick enough; that why I love games with left trigger aim like ghost recon.

The game isn't really that fast paced though, you can afford to take your time more-so than some other FPS titles. You still get flanked and what not, but the whole thing moves along a little bit slower, emphasised by you having buddies with you often - Means the enemy is targeting multiple targets, and not just you 24/7, giving you more time/options.

I think people need to stop trying to play it like COD :p The demo is really too short, I think once everyone gets the full thing and puts a good hour into the game going through some different set pieces and what not they'll adjust better.

That being said, they'll probably still be those unable to adjust to standard controls and alt2 seems to be the most popular afterwards.

Yeah, a sign that the game ain't COD and people need to get over that and stop whining :p

"It aims slow!" "There's no auto-aim!" "Where's my COD controls?" "Why do things feel heavy?!" "I don't like first person cover!"

This is KZ2, go play COD4 or WaW if that's what you want. I seem to recall the game is made by Guerilla Games, not Infinity Ward or Treyarch.

By the way, more retail copies popping up...

Here's hoping Shop-To gets them in soon and ships them really early :p

Yeah dude you need to come down off the high horse and belittling us just because we dislike the controls. I don't want to turn the game into CoD or complaining of no auto-aim or even the game feeling "heavy". In fact I welcome all of those changes otherwise I may as well just continue playing CoD.

I want to customise my controls to my liking, that's it. They f'ed up, simple as.

Infact, the only people who will complain about it being "heavy" and the lack of auto-aim are the FPS noobs. Can't wait to hear the bitching in NW games. Gonna be fun mowing you all down (Y)

I played the demo 1 more time on Alternate 2 with the zoom lock turned off. I like it a lot more now.

I still don't understand why the controls aren't 100% customizable like Resistance 2. Hell...even a wii game like The Conduit is 100% customizable

I'm not belittling you, what are you on about?

I was talking about the complaining on the PS forums with those remarks. There's people out there that want the game to be like COD, and that is not happening so they need to shutup and stop messing up the forums like they are. It's not KillDuty 2: Helghast Warfare

Now, the issue you're going on about, how many games allow you to customize your controls entirely? I've seen Resistance do it, and that's it [others probably exist, but it's all I've seen]. Now I would like it going forward, but acting like KZ2 is the only title that doesn't do it and throwing a fit of rage is silly. Make it known what you want from Guerilla going forward, but if you're that upset and can't get accustomed to the current controls/pre-sets, do not buy/play the game if it's that much of an issue for you.

The second thing is no one in here has even tried MP. There is no cover mechanic in the MP, so it's going to be a different experience than SP.

We just don't need a complete derailing of the official thread once the games out whining about controls - So I guess, get it over with in this topic :p

As for bitching in NW games, won't be coming from me. I'm not an immature idiot online

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline.
